Launcher Not Connecting

I was playing two hours ago. Logged out. Closed my laptop for a while. Logged back in, and now the launcher will not connect. Several times, no connections. I also tried to log in to Champions Online and I get the same problem. Restarting my computer did not help.

What's going on?

    Server stability is better with less players on it.

    J/K, a few weeks ago they changed the launcher and the older one wouldn't update itself properly so I had to manually download the new one and replace the older one with the downloaded file. There's a thread with the updated launcher, it may be worth a try.

    Sadly the 'fix' only worked for 1 day on my pc, now when it connect (1 in 50 tries) it tries to update and hangs or crashes after downloading 50 mb or so. At this point I'm unsure whats corrupt or not, but have lost motivation to fix it after 8 hours of trying and surfing for info, at least until LoR launch + 1 week. I'm guessing there may have been a port change with one of the recent server patches that has gimped my connection but I can't be sure.
