in pve there actually is no DPS difference between DHCs and DC, except the difference the power level draining makes. npcs dont distribute thier shields, so you dont need frontloaded damage. DHC being so much better is mostly a pvp thing.
The reason for that is simply the cycle duration versus Turnrate, you get more shots off DHC because their duration is shorter (Although total cooldown longer)
Dual cannons break half way thru in their cycle because of arc matters.
Sounds like some people want to RP in PvP instead of understand how it works thoroughly and learn to counter it effectively. Wasn't discovery half the fun in this game when you guys first started playing it?

With the advent of bootcamp, you dont have to do this no more. You are given the relevant information on a plate. What tends to happen now is that when you try to pass the hard learnt knowledge in a friendly / respectful manner, you are called an elitist.

Considering we have both a Alpha Strike is OP and a SNB is OP plus a Trics mines should have never been nerfed flow of opinion all going in the forums, some in the same thread by the same person, a great deal of the playerbase is beyond my understanding
some people can't leave well enough alone while i agree DHC need some looking at so do alot of things this is low on that list.
some things that come to mind first up at the batten should be the rep power creep they realy need to look at how they do these "passives" as if they become must haves then that isn't good
in the long run though DHC just need a bit more drain like 2-4 more points and that would settle that issue.;)
or the pilots with the skill to blow someone up in less then reaction time need their caffeine taken away XD
As a Fed engi player, I can usually sense an alpha strike is coming and pile on the resistance buffs. You can even hear cloaked ships buffing nearby if you get lucky and it CAN buy more than enough time. I actually kind of like it as irritating as it is. Keeps you on your toes ina sense.

i think the people complaining have club foot or something maybe their toes don't work ;-) or maybe they turned the audio so far down they are oblivious so a decloaking sound.
but as stated the weapons themselves are just about right there are other things causing the side effects your noticing OP and that would be how some of the damage bonus stacks up its multiplicative instead of diminishing so it can add up to an insane bonus. i digress as many pointed out its escorts day in the sun and it looks to be an arctic summer.
In defense of Bobtheyak, He is no novice and while I do not understand his asking for a nerf of DHCs I can only assume it was asked for reasons important to him.
