These are taken from the enemy encounters in the alpha centauri sector. These ARE the new textures for the D'deridex.

Something that just caught my eye was the size of the warbird seems a little too small in comparison to the Galaxy Class. I'm pretty sure its supposed to be almost twice the size of a Galaxy Class.
    BUT I am not complaining!

It's just the angle these screenshots were taken from -- the D'Deridex is properly scaled, and as such, a Galaxy class can fit snugly inside of the open space of the D'Deridex.

Awesome. I would so love to see you have a proper crack at a new Galaxy-class model.

so the npc model has been replaced? good, that one was just a bit subpar. its so large that you cant help but notice how... npc-tastic it was. i just hope it doesn't have a DBB fireing from its engines anymore, and they are from the nose instead

I hate the idea of DBBs firing from the nose -_- it doesnt look right at all. I prefer them fire from the nacelles...it looks cooler

from the nose looks canon, and cool. thats were the main beam or huge heavy single cannon the d'd has always been seen fireing, its simply correct for the in game model to do the same. weapons fireing from the nacelles makes absolutely no sense

Are you sure those are nav lights?

The weapon hardpoints on starships are little bumps with red lights on them, pretty much universally. It can look like a nav light but not actually be one.

went and took a look my self, the beam array hardpoints are good, lowest part nose and forehead right in the center is were they fire, like seen in canon actualy. the DHC/DBB hardpoints are in the wrong spot unfortunately

next to the neccels, on the top wing, at least not from the nacells themselves. was it really to much to ask that the same thing the galor got, the D'd would get? the DHC/DBB hardpoints on top of each other so it looked like they fire a single shot? that would have looked great :(

dont let them make its turn worse then a galaxy, or have firepower comparable to the galaxy, when that ship is the worst damage dealer and turner in the game, please?

the D'deridex sucking hard will be a huge turn off to practically everyone excited to play as romulans. if you guys want this to succeed, don't let us down with the D'deridex.

I agree with this, but only if they increase the turn rate of the Galaxy class to match. Otherwise it would be illogical for a ship twice the size to have better manuverability and another huge slap in the face of the Galaxy fans.

Yeah, I hopped on tribble to run the TD patrol with Tal Shiar the other day.

It's interesting fighting them, thematically, although it's not really any different, mechanically. They just implode to do damage around them when they die instead of exploding... Come to think of it, I wonder if Donatra explodes or implodes...

I will say the lighting system and interface are going to take a lot of getting used to once May 21st rolls around though.

This is excellent news. I hope the model itself ends up looking more faithful to the original than last Friday's screenshot would have me believe. I'll try to check it on Tribble...
TOIVA, Toi Vaxx, Toia Vix, Toveg, T'vritha, To Vrax: Bring in the Allegiance class.
Toi'Va, Ti'vath, Toivia, Ty'Vris, Tia Vex, Toi'Virth: Add Tier 6 KDF Carrier and Raider.
    Tae'Va, T'Vaya, To'Var, Tevra, T'Vira, To'Vrak: Give us Asylums for Romulans.

Don't make ARC mandatory! Keep it optional only!

i don't know were they are getting this from, the D'deridex is a great tank, thats the opposite of what it was. it was a HORRIBLE ship of the line, being part of a joint fleet, they got obliterated. the cardi weapon platforms every hit did an incredible amount of damage per hit, federaion ships, like the galaxy, and kdf ships too much less damage. these are decloak alpha strikers, not attrition fighters like a fed cruiser would be.

these warbirds should have battle cruiser turning, escort hull and cruiser shields

I always thought it was understood that a D'deridex was more than a match for a Galaxy class. Something like a 60/40 split in favor of the D'deridex if they got into a head to head fight. Bringing cloak into the mix makes it no contest. That's why the Romulans were a serious threat in TNG.
