Despite what this thread may lead people to believe, the IRF aren't all a bunch of raging alcoholics. Romulans just suffer from a natural alcohol deficiency. The ale helps keep us (somewhat) sane.

I've got to say, I'm interested in this fleet- but the whole 'voice chat' idea always puts me off.
Plus, I'm never too sure whether I'll participate in group activities, for I'm rather idiotic.
As in: I wouldn't be too good with ship builds, 'statistics talk' or have knowledge of team play.
But I do like talking to others, contributing, as well as roleplaying. So I'm not really sure at all.

Second, we do not enforce voice chat, we do offer teamspeak 3 for members who do like to use it, and even if your not a big talker but want to listen in that is fine as well.
Third, Group play/ship builds/statistic talk, shouldnt discern you. Our policy is simple, join and have fun. We do offer all of this in our forums and ingame chat, but once again it is not forced upon, if your totally happy just cruising around doing your own thing thats fine, the only thing we truly wish for participation is when we hold fleet meetings or a special event (we understand there is rl and if you cant make it thats totally fine too, but we like to see everyone possible for our meetings so everyone can get their voice heard about anything that we discuss or needs to be discussed)
Lastly, we offer great roleplay in our forums, we are not always ingame 24/7 but our forums are always busy ! Most of our interaction between members is usually through forums before game, time zones, work, real life keeps alot of us apart ingame.

The only requirement is to have fun and enjoy yourself Nothing is forced upon members in the community. The stuff we provide is all optional to be able to have and offer everyone that is apart of the group. We do offer forum Roleplay content and have plenty of it for those that want to roleplay with our fleet mates. This community has been around for over a decade now, we have had several leadership changes and website updates over the years but our goal remains the same to have a Romulan community for all topics and gaming related to Romulans.

Teamspeak or voice as you say is an optional. When joining, you are NOT made to use it. It is for communication while doing missions or just get to know people.. Great way to get to know people an make friends. That's what a fleet is. A place of people who enjoy the same as you.

We are looking into having our first RL meet at next years Star Trek convetion in Vegas (this year is too sudden for most cash wise, but a couple of us are planning to go to get the best info out for the rest of the community)
So why not take a look? We are still small numbers wise with members but we make up for it with our efforts (not everyone wishes to be part of a faction specific fleet, or leave their current fleet for sake of romulans)
