If you don't like the game then leave. It is after all a game. That way those of us who like it won'y have to listen to the infantile whining of the trolls who barge into every thread.
Or... you can embrace the concept of IDIC, and tolerate people who have opinions that differ from your own. Those of us who are critics of Cryptic and their actions for the past 3 years, have every bit as much right to be here, as you do.
I reserve judgment on the new faction until i've done some Tribble playtesting, and it's actually launched in May. My primary concern isn't the new "shiny", but moreso that they actually hold true to their promise of letting KDF players start at level 1, with their own leveling content.
And you're exactly the kind of person P.T. Barnum was talking about
It's a game if you don't like it leave. I can't make it any more clear. You and your fellow trolls, naysayers and cynics were wrong. This is not an opinion it;s a flat out fact.

Most impressive. So you've actually playtested the new "expansion", and know exactly how it plays, what it contains etc? If you haven't, then you know just as much as the rest of us, which is to say, jack s--t!!!
OK, I'm going to come out in support of all those doubters because whilst the news is indeed intriguing, you fan-boys and girls need a reality check.
Yes, it's a Rom faction - 1-50 they say - same goes for the KDF. I was one of the skeptics - why? Because given Cryptic's track record of over-promising and under-delivering, even the thought of them attempting something this big seemed ridiculous.
And even now, what are we seeing exactly in the trailer? 3 identically-dressed Romulans, one environment that looks new, one that's built out of old environments, a few new ships and two old ones fighting with maybe some spiffy new power - and that's it.
If this was a 'complete' 1-50 faction I'd expect there to be a little more new stuff in the trailer but there isn't. Either because they don't want to show it yet or (cynic hat on) they haven't made it yet.
Same with the screengrabs - there's a lot of concept art in there (including the UI mockups) for something that's supposed to being going live in two months.
Stahl's only comment on the KDF regarding Season 8 is that 'the tutorial is being reworked' - other than that, I'm not expecting anything new for the KDF so if that 1-50 for the Klingons holds true then that tutorial's going to be smoke and mirrors fluff to get you to the point where you can start doing (old) Featured Episodes.
And whilst the Romulans will need a lot of new stuff (from Nomulus maybe?) to flesh out their early levels, you can bet the Featured Episodes will be part of their levelling progress too - and for KDF levels 20-50, the FE's plus a handful of unique missions are all they get.
But most of all, understand that this faction - the Romulans - isn't for the players they have - it's for the players they want - it'll be big and splashy and make for good coverage, the only question is, once you dig beneath the surface, will there be any substance?
This is exactly how I feel. I'm not even going to allow myself to get remotely excited for this expansion until I actually see / get to play some of the content.

So they've confirmed that Klingons are receiving dozens of new story missions? The completely scattershot quality work over the last two seasons is magically fixed? The details of what the new reputation, powers and equipment has been released and detailed?
I could go on, but you get the picture
We both know none of the above is true in the slightest.

I'm in the same boat. While promising, far too many times Cryptic has hyped up hugely awesome things that turn out to be complete and utter bunk. We need details, facts and information. As of right now, we have none of those three things.

And again if you don't like this GAME why are you here?
All I can say is I hope they don't think tacking on a tutorial and letting KDF start at level 1 counts as completing the faction.
I could be arsed about what level I start at or of there is a tutorial. Those might have been interesting if I hadn't already leveled 3 KDF. Sure, they are nice additions, but in no way were they adding to my feeling of incompleteness. I am well, well past that content mattering.
Every time I think I will go back to my KDF, I open my PvE queue, notice how small the list is, and quietly log back Fedside so I actually have content to run.
I once again match my character. Behold the power of PINK!
And again if you don't like this GAME why are you here?
Why do you keep harping the same words over and over?
Obviously those of us who are here, are atleast somewhat interested in the game and it's development. Just because a person doesn't like "x feature" doesn't necessarily make it into "we hate the game, so there".

god you talk poo i play kdf all the time and the only thing im waiting for to pop is a 20 man sfd:P
I'm a critic (hars at times) of Cryptic but today's news has me excited again. I will see what comes along at the end of May but if it turns out well I may reward them with Zen purchases.
How the Devs see Star Trek, apparently:
Star Trek: The Original Grind
Star Trek: The Next Grind
Star Trek: Deep Space Grind
Star Trek: Voyage to the Grind
It's a game if you don't like it leave. I can't make it any more clear. You and your fellow trolls, naysayers and cynics were wrong. This is not an opinion it;s a flat out fact.
Look, I never made any calls either way as to whether this would be a new faction or not because I simply didn't know - I suspected as not because I didn't think Cryptic would be reckless enough to pile a whole heap of new issues on top of the ones they already have.
But they are - in pursuit of new players (and wallets), they're not only going to patch up the unfinished KDF faction, they're also going to neglect the Feds for a season - something that in the three-year history of STO they've never done since the Feds are their cash-cow.
Maybe, just maybe I'm wrong - and Cryptic have the leadership and the talent to pull this off, but history - even recent history with the launch of the Kumari says this is going to be at best rife with issues.
Heck - these guys can't even synchronize their world-wide announcements

Because I am honestly confused at what motivates the haters. They scream and whine and are sources of nothing but negativity over a game. Something people play for fun. So it's an honest question. If they really hate this game so much why don't they just play something else and leave those of us who actually have fun playing it in peace instead of coming into almost every thread no matter what it's about and whining.

You're operating under a hilariously false assumption, notably that someone who has something negative to say about a title by definition hates everything about said title.

Except that we are not talking about some minor constructive criticism here. We are talking way overboard rages and rants, conspiracy theories and claims that Cryptic never gets anything right and are outright lying. So no I am not making a false assumption.
I don't know what KDF you are playing, or if you don't play Fed. I'll assume you haven't played Fed lately and leave it at that.
If KDF is so complete, I'll see you at the KDF version of Starbase 24... Oh wait... That's right, while they were busy taking the KDF minefield event and copy/pasting it to fedside because the Fed didn't like their version of it they didn't even bother to notice that KDF has *1!!!* space fleet action. No Starbase 24, no Klingon Scout force, etc. One measly space fleet action.
Would it really have killed them to copy Starbase 24 for us? Or Scout Force? You know, actually fill in holes in content, instead of giving the side that already has plenty of content copies of the other teams content to *REPLACE* fully functioning missions...
But no, I'm just nuts, KDF is fine...
Have fun on your new green team, I can only hope you have as much to do as the red team... *sigh*
I once again match my character. Behold the power of PINK!

Considering you're completely misrepresenting the opinions of people expressing reservations about Cryptic based on a lack of provided evidence about the upcoming content, you really are.
Yeah, I know, I leveled one to cap back then! I just haven't spent the three years since then obsessing over it.
Pointing out a track record in the face of unfounded assumptions =/= obsessing.
You made an assumption based on no (at present at least) evidence whatsoever. I pointed out how said assumption was flawed (by pointing out how Cryptic has had a "full" non-Fed faction in the past that was anything but).

OK, you wanted an honest answer.
I want a crafting system that isn't capped at Mk XI and doesn't suck.
I want a better reason to earn Rep System TRIBBLE than simply re-playing the missions I played to earn it.
I want to be able to contribute to Fleets and Reputation without having to play content I don't enjoy.
I want to earn Dilithium for everything I do in game and have many more (small) ways to spend it.
I want more STFs that have the thought and design of the old ones rather than the hastily botched together Hive missions.
I want Terrordome fixed and relevant again.
I want Featured Episodes that aren't faction agnostic, diluted, canon-disregarding drivel.
I want PvP to have a Dev that can allocate more time to it than his coffee breaks.
I want stuff tested properly on Tribble and reviewed before it goes live.
I want the STF sets that we now have to pay Dilithium for fixed (powers and costumes).
I want to be able to beam into First City with being sent to the Shipyard instead.
I want to be able to edit the appearance of my Marauding Boff the way the Feds can edit their Diplo Boff.
I want more costume choices for the Feds and the KDF.

Whose the one who trolls, the troll, or the troll who follows him?
Anyways, YOU'RE looking at this wrong. I will admit, this stuff looks sick, but even before the website release, I was even cautious about it. Cryptic HAS A PAST OF NOT DELIVERING. Like you said, this is not an opinion, this is fact. If these guys choose not to believe until it actually comes out on trib, let 'em, they're entitled too.

They did actually confirm that Klingons will be 1-50 again, with no need to unlock them.

My character Tsin'xing
Don't even matter what info they dish out if they can't get stuff to work anyway, here have a flamethrower
I am not going to get excited until I see it working on my character
/ps
May could easily be the last day of that month too so yeah it is what it is
Their announcement that they're going to finish the Klingon faction is further proof that they're not going to finish the Klingon faction!!!!!!

Klingons started out that way. With zero content for the first 30 levels beyond star cluster missions.
The existence of a faction by no means confirms the existence of content for said faction.
