I got "Loading. Please wait." on a white screen instead of the login page, and now the autoupdate isn't patching when I try to launch.

te3-2.ccr01.bos06.atlas.cogentco.com is in the hundreds of ms range on the trace route, could that be the issue?

If this is the case, then you should post your Trace Route results into this ongoing PWE Tech Support Thread, so that PWE has the information they can kick Cogent Communications a few more times to get this resolved... http://techsupport.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=4181
    ...

Is the login or authentication server down?
Doesn't appear to be. I've been Downgrading Doffs for my Fleet Projects all afternoon. And I need to exit the Client, then re-login to avoid a memory leak in the Doff UI every 4 to 5 Dozen Doffs collected...

Most likely you have some kind of Internet route issues to the STO Servers... a 'Trace Route' and 'Net Test' results would be useful in diagnosing the problem...

I have other mmo's installed and they seem to be fine. My guess is the issue that started about 1700~ is just getting bigger. Please have the janitor plug that router back in - that is long enough to vacuum.

    Been having similar issues.

    res://ieframe.dll/dnserrordiagoff_webOC.htm

Cleared IE cache, then got an error relating to connectivity to patch server. Though, I've been able to tracert to the patch server using patchserver.crypticstudios.com URL.

Currently, there's a mini window with "LOADING". My username/login was retreaved, but it's background and cannot be accessed, since the focus is on the mini "LOADING" window.

Note, I've not been refering to the white background "Loading, please wait" page.

Closed window and tried again, was able to enter UN/PW, but got "unable to authenticate" in lower left corner.

I've not been having connectivity issues w/anything but the game's launcher and they've been inconsistent in nature as described above.

It seems to potentionally be recursive routing or a routing loop somewhere w/your (Cryptic's) ISP.

While I can traceroute to the address as you can see there's a router sending TTL exceededs.

    STO inaccessible:
First, the launcher window takes extra time to render, displaying a blank window that says only "Loading please wait", and in the process spawns another IE window that tries (and fails) to render this URL: res://ieframe.dll/dnserrordiagoff_webOC.htm

Once the launcher finally renders, after entering password, again a longer-than-normal wait for the usual patch-check followed by the Engage button.

After clicking Engage, sometimes you get "Unable to authenticate:", otherwise you get to the first splash page where it times out "Connecting to the login server..."

The first error indicates a DNS issue, which may be a symptom of larger network connectivity issues rather than the cause.

Note: If you are lucky enough to get connected and log in, try to stay in your zone - zone transitions (moving from sector to sector, beaming up from ESD, etc.) and changing characters make you susceptible to a repeat of the same issues.

Really surprised we have NO comment from anyone in Net Ops regarding these issuses. Yes, peoplw can log in if they're patient; but I've had all the issues described above; and get constant timeouts connecting to game server when attempting map transfers.

talking to players in game, it's NOT localized to one geographic area of the U.S. or Europe. It appears theirs either a routing issues withing Cryptic DMZ servers or VPN; or a major routing issue (again) with Cryptic's ISP.

this seems to be affecting neverwinter as well. so my guess is there is some issues with something on their end and not some magical thing that just happend all of the sudden for a few people.........heh. lets hope it gets fixed soon enough.

Hi all, I am not sure if the problem was fixed for you but, i started getting this error today, last night after the patch i was online and everything was fine. This morning i have the same issues as you all...launcher takes forever to load the engage button, sometimes it gives me the "Unable to Authenticate" error, other times i am able to barely log in but i can't stay switch zones or maps. i downloaded the latest launcher from the stickied post on the forums, that did not help. now trying to reinstall the game stuck on patching..20% down...

    anyone got any solution?

You're getting unusually high latency values from what ever your computer is connected to, onwards. Have you tried power cycling your router, and what your router is plugged into. (And by power cycle, that means turn off, and keep off for at least a minute...)
