So, under these definations, wouldn't the Andorian "Escort" count actually as a destroyer?
Pretty much, yes. Cryptic's classification is very loose. Going purely by names "Destroyers" run the entire range from the Aquarius (basically a Fed BoP with none of the benefits) to the Chimera, which is just short of an Assault Cruiser in terms of size and crew complement.
At the moment I'm willing to cut the Andorian "Escorts" because they are Andorian ships and not strictly Starfleet. They're probably loaners.
They even come with the IGV/IGS prefix so players can roleplay being part of the Andorian Imperial Guard (and being Federation-allied it makes sense that Andorian navy officers would work with Starfleet Command, at least).

I think the Aquarius is a misuse of the term.
As I see it, Destroyers are a Cruiser/Escort hybrid that fall on the Escort side. Dreadnoughts are Escort/Cruiser hybrids that fall on the Cruiser side.
If you play the Andorian ship, you'd see that it's NOT AT ALL tank-y and can't be with the BO stations it gets.
Destroyers need to be tank-y escorts. Which all pretty much are except for the Aquarius.

Whatever the case, even Star Trek proper has a less than stellar record when it comes to consistency in terms. Remember when people were talking about the Defiant as the first "Warship" Starfleet ever built?
Yeah.
Assuming the Aquarius is an outlier (and it sure seems like it at least), a Destroyer is more like a KDF Raptor, i.e. with power but less maneuverability and slightly more size.
Why? Because some ships that can turn like escorts, like the Mobius, can be VERY tanky when their universal Boff slots and whatnot are taken into account.
i wouldnt mind aquarius style destroyers in a pack... but not chimera style.
Meaning looks or stats?
If a 3-pack happens I would hope for a new design in the classic Starfleet style. Saucer, secondary hull and nacelles, or at least something close to that considering the modern blended-body fleet style.
The kelvin is prime timeline not jj as nero attacked it just after it came out the portal thing. Kelvin is almost a fdd/apollo design to. Love the ship

CBS's copyrights and trademarks are on things they actually produced, not on timelines. Yes, it was in prime timeline, but it wasn't in a pre-divestiture movie. It belongs to Paramount.

I'm willing to buy a new 3 pack it just has to be a kdf tac or sci I'm not buying any more fed ships until i can get a new kdf zen store ship.
hint cryptic ive payed for oddy pack, vesta pack regent, defiant, nebula, Kar,fi fleet retro bop and that kdf bop with the quad cannons cant remember its name. if u wont any more cash off me ur going to have to bring out a new kdf ship pack other wise ill just be a F2P grinder and not help pay for the game.
I kno. Jus pointing out when it was designed in the time line. She seems to be ine iff the more popular ships in the boards. And 1 ud like to see added if they can get the rights to the materail

True but STO has already bent Trek to more consistently apply terms but then dropped the consistency over the last year's worth of ships.
And when they drop the consistency, calls for DPS cruisers with cannons will only increase.

I say put it to a vote. (Just for fun of course) The ships I see mentioned here the most are the USS Typhon (ST Invasion / Carrier) The USS Kelvin (ST 2009 / Escort) USS Archiles (ST Dominion Wars / Escort) and add in the Akula (SFC 1 + 2 / Escort) and the Yomatto (SFC 1 + 2 FBB / Crusier) and see what people like on the Fourms

The fdd (apollo class) from sfc, shattered universe and legacy would b my fav. A tmp skin n a 2409 design would b great

Oh and god no nothing from that horrible movie!

I already have a Chimera.
AFAIK, the JJ-verse is completely off limits to STO.
