Proposition:nerf advanced danubes as hard as siphon drones are now

Siphon drones were capped so they have a limit on how much they drain a ship

I think it would be fair to make the same thing to danubes (simple or advanced) so they can't stop you anymore ,just slow you to .25 % of maximum speed .

I got killed by federation teams running a armitage/vesta with danubes

Danubes tractor me ,i use evasive ,got tractored by the ship ,i use apo ,got vm /scramble sensors/ams and many times by this time my ship is blown.

Another ugly thing about them that they stay even if the ship which launched them is gone
Sometime I try to capture a point in C&H and I have to fight with danubes while the vesta who launched them is capturing other point. And danubes can't be killed easily unfortunately.

If things won't change no problem I will adapt but i think that it would be fair that danubes have a speed cap limit just as siphon drones have for a long time .

    Agreed.

Multiple Danubes can utterly cripple a ship. I've witnessed this first hand.

Indeed this game was far far better before all the pet TRIBBLE.

Yes the klinks had a carrier... but it was slow turned/turns like a bus with a blown clutch... and the pets it could slot (not counting the Pods which where always a bit messed up) where dps pets but didn't have stupid tractors or drop tric mines... or aceton you... or do any of the other annoying things we see pets doing now.... I am sure next lock box ship will get pets that eject warp plasma, or VM or both... I can see it now Romulan T'liss Class pets, with Plasma VM and rapid firing dhc.

To the ops point though... ya Danubes are a joke and so are the people that run them just like the klinks that used to run broken siphens where laughing stocks. Cryptic has already fixed it once and made it worse... it would have been nice if perhaps someone was at least thinking about future pvp balance when they decide what toys to give pets.

use apo or polarize hull, you escort handlers whine too much for a such limited build capability, the only thing you can do is dps, but you whine everytime when the situation looks fat.

you klingons have pets with aceton beam and tricobalts, and you whine about a freaking tractor beam ? forget the escort, it sucks, make a science vessel than since you cant handle an escort

what ? you wanted the max dps while beeing immune to everything else ? spare the community to your noobyness

Yup KDf sci ships rock hard. But friggin danoobs are a pest. 2 escorts, 2 vesta, 1 carrier is 6 hangar pets. While no premade seems to be fielding this, i want to remind people that we had rules in the past where 3 carriers was a big no no. Danoob nerf needs to happen.

How about introducing PvE only pets for armitage, Vesta, and.....

I don't queue FvK anymore, since most feds suck, and i spend half the match shooting friggin danoobs. Doesn't really capture my idea of PvP.

Oh my war efforts against NPCs is ongoing, i just don't find the slaughter of npcs inside PvP arena's very fulfilling or honorable .

@sophie 2x engs, both have carriers, both are on hold. I can either spam the opposition with OP BS toys, siphons danoobs, or have worthless junk cluttering the screen.

If you're going to nerf the runabouts, then you should also nerf the hell out of the orion interceptors.

I've already noticed the changes to the runabouts in PvE. If they are nerfed again they will be completely useless.

I've never liked pets at all, period. I never thought the KDF should have had carriers to begin with, and I can't imagine Starfleet sending out scores of disposable pilots to die in 3 seconds flat when they could have their big, well-protected cruisers do the job.

I put up with them though, because there are ways to deal with them, and lots of people love their PvE too much to go anywhere without scores of NPCs.

Danubes are especially bad though. The problem is that character control has very little effect in PvE, but is crippling in PvP. That means that in order for CC to seem useful in PvE, it needs to be overpowered in PvP.

The thing that sucks with the Danubes is that when they do their thing, they make things too easy.

I like the Vesta, but I actually kind of wish that it didn't have a hangar. It doesn't need one, and with it there I'm tempted to use it.

The other pet I'd love to see gone is the aceton assimilator. It doesn't despawn properly, and not every ship even has kinetic damage weapons, so it can't always be killed. To make things worse, it actually protects other spam from being killed with CSV or FAW, and at the time it was added the KDF was specifically a PvP faction, so Cryptic actually meant to do something stupid for PvP purposes.

I have flown almost every ship thats a list of the ones I have ready to go / have equipped right now. I use multiple carrier ships both sides... and although I don't really like the pet idea in general and wish it was limited to the Klink Vo'que only ever.... I can live with standard dmg pets... self buffs like rapid fires and high yield patters are one thing...

Pets that toss Skills are complete and utter junk. and should ALL be re designed imo. Tractors on pets where a TERRIBLE idea... as was pets that drop tric mines.
As far as I'm concerned they all need a once over... and things like tractor beams need to be replaced with pet self buff abilities. Even the old MVAM pets that tossed delta patterns around where not as game breaking as pets spamming more spam and pets spamming stupid things like tractors and acetons.

just use a polarize hull or apo, those will brake the tractor immediatly

when your hull is less than 50% wont you use fleet support ? c'mon man ...

you want your alpha build to work on every situation ? if you complain so much, i would like to see you fighting someone with eject warp plasma, gravity well3 and 2 copies of tractor beam, its not about the pets you are complainning, its about how limited is your build, and how bad you want it to work

that works for the first wave of danubes, but once either of those effects end, the carrier just launches a new wave of them with fresh tractors and your tractor-breaker is still recharging...that's the real problem here; not that the danubes are OP'd, but that they can be replaced too damn fast, and the same could be said for many other pets, come to think of it

Exactly I can load a polarized hull and an omega and completely walk through a sci ship with 2 tractor beams... because I can clearly see when his buff is up and when its not... and SHOCKING revelation the cool downs on the abilities and the cool downs on there counters JIVE... you can infact counter ever time.

Dannoobs not so much they don't have cool downs they just tractor and tractor like the dumb AI they are... they are not balanced against the counters. I can't use skill to time a counter... they are lazy always on tractor boats. That take 100% 0 skill to use. Can they be countered sure... I don't die to danube morons... unless I am fighting multiple danube morons. However they are no fun to counter because there is no skill involved.... your right ... I stop break my well designed build and install a polarized hull with my omega + doff setup to be immune 100% instead of using my own personal skill to NOT have to run a ZERO skill build with 100% resist up time to counter.

For the record this thread started about dannoob fighters... but its true of any of the pets that have sci/engi cast abilities... pets shouldn't be firing Aceton at a rate = 3x that of what a cruiser can do... Seriously think about it a karfi loads an aceton they can fire it once every 1:30... the pets just spam it... If aceton wasn't laughable it would be more of an issue.

The way I see NO pets should drop more spam (mines of any kind)... or fire off abilities that SHOULD be on a players ability bar....

    UNLESS
Cryptic was able to ADD a Special skill button to the pet interface... that would allow the PLAYER to cast the ability (not the AI)... the abilities would have cool downs (LONGER Then player boff skills I mean come on here there pets)... and the cool downs would not reset by just launching new fighters. At that point I would be fine with pets with a player controled tractor beam on a 2min cool down... or an Aceton on the same... heck they could even add real dmg pets that cast Attack patterns ect.... BUT on longer cool downs then boff skills.

.... Thinking about it. They did go half way there with the recluse... the recluse pets work in tandum with the recluse console... allowing the pet ability to work as a player skill... (and frankly having some opportunity cost as you can run those pets with out the skill by loosing the console)

What if ALL the pets had a console... that gave them an ability. (or just make one universal pet console that would fire off the pets selected special ability) the console can have its own 2min cool down or what ever like the recluse console. Tech is already in game for that.

i wouldn't exactly call it laughable, but i just find warp plasma has a wider range of uses, even if it takes some creative maneuvering to deploy it in a cruiser/carrier

Perhaps a focus should also be put on the sheer number of movement debuffs/stuns that currently exisit in this game...

tractors - danubes, borg set, BO skill, etc
    chronitons (torp, mines, beam)
    tgt engines
    VM
    Phaser proc
    grav anchor, burst, etc...
    psw
    tric
    anything that siphons pwr
    temporal?
    etc...

I don't think any other specific component of the game has that many debuffs...
