you know. I'm merely making this thread as a wish. My idea is to give the KDF the team fortress console. one that came with the steamrunner. another fed ship that the KDF didn't get.. I support the KDF. Roach knows this. I've made thread after thread of ideas for the KDF. This is just one console I really like.

Though not as much these days, a lot of people whine about when an aecton asim' is used in a pvp scenario, be it ker'ret or actual PVP maps, giving them to the feds will only irritate more pvp players, seeing how carriers got given to feddies increasing pet spam, now aectons?

Then again its a lose/lose situation for the people who decide what consoles are for the lockbox chopping board.

    People complain about them being in the game, people complain about them not being in THEIR part of the game O.o;

Devs' you have my sympathies on this one :p

    What a sad thread.

If cryptic can sell it, they will. They are not holding out morale ground for KDF uniqueness, they barely understand that acetons and leech are crazy powerful.

The real reason you don't want Feds to get them is.... they'll be nerfed the minute they are in mass use, you know it, so do we. The acetons are down right ridiculous, and many KDFs who try to play Fed characters explode without their leech console.

Can we get Aceton Assimilators in the next Cross Faction Console Box in the next LockBox? Up the anti by giving KDF the Console that comes in the T1 Steamrunner. that will really make for some interesting PVP activity. What do ya say?

No. Just, no. Stop with the cross-faction stuff. The longer this goes on, the less unique each faction becomes...KDF more so since they have very little when compared to the Fed side. What do you want next, cross-faction/species traits? Knock it off...

...Why? I mean, what usage would you get out of it? In PvP it's very hated from a great many people, and in PvE, while it sometimes takes aggro and deals decent damage, it's not really needed.

Besides, if AA and Leech are given to the Feds...what then? At that point, the only (good) consoles left will be tier 5 ship ones, and those aren't gonna get traded. At least at that point, Feds won't be able to complain about Leech and AA, because everyone will have them. It'll really only end up hurting things in terms of PvP. PvE won't really matter or change, it's easy already.

I'll admit it now, I'd use Leech on my Feds, because it is THAT good. Think on what Syndrome said in The Incredibles:

LOL. Are you saying that Fed. Players don't have to buy the ship that has the special consoles they want? That they can just buy the consoles? Cause last I checked, that Tachyon Detection Grid is still on that Nebula that costs 2K zen.
And that point defense system that the Klingons got in that last lockbox? Yeah. I still have to buy the ship in order to get it! So IDK what you're talking about.

The difference is you don't see Klingons begging for the other faction's consoles. You have nothing to offer I desire.

    How sad.

The AA or PL will end up in a LB only becuase Cryptic wants the flash revenue and for no other reason. Still the feds will pat themselves on the back and take it as a victory while showing all non-fans out there looking at the game how selfish they can really be.

You say that like its a bad thing or some potential future, when in fact we all already are the same. We're all human players using tactical, engineer, and science captains, blasting Borg or Tholians or whatever. The only difference is interface colors and what skins we use while doing so, plus a few minor ship stat differences and a few consoles. Ultimately we're all doing the same thing day after day, so who cares what gadgets get mixed and matched?

And misunderstand this isn't me being simply dismissive of the KDF. I'm dismissive of the entire concept of factions altogether. We're all playing the same game, with a 'story' thats a nonsensical justification to blow stuff up. Neither side is anything close to their source material, and there's nothing here to encourage loyalty to one or the other. And yet we get people who seem to have decided that for some reason their side is 'better' or have decided that they're owed something or that they're special, then use that as justfication to stomp around being hostile to other players because their HUDs are a different color. We're all just players, and this faux tribalism doesn't do anything useful, just start fights (as this thread has so clearly demonstrated). There's nothing here worth fighting over. Let the Feds use the Plasmonic Leech, led the Klingons drive the Kumari, who freaking cares?

it's not exactly junk, but it is situational, kind of like the nadeon detonator (which the KDF got in exchange for the bio-neural) was before it got patched to modify any standard torpedo and not just photon

I don't think a majority of the playerbase would agree, and while that is simple speculation on my part, people have gotten used to having the two groups. Plus, I dunno if it would really work, because getting rid of the faction part of the game, would have to make everyone totally equal, and might be more of a problem than it's worth. Because on that, you'd have like Feds in BoPs. They wouldn't 'be' Feds because there's no factions, but they wouldnt 'be' KDF either. It'd be messing up the game's canon and logic way more than it already does.

That aside, a big problem in the future would be that the power creep would be so huge, that newer players would be at such a disadvantage (they are now already), they probably wouldn't want to bother continuing. In turn, those players at the top of the power creep would want content to be a challenge, which is fine, but again, doesn't really help out the newer players.

Also, people like variety. Yes, the factions are awfully close in that there's little difference anymore, but the difference IS there. There's differences in the classes as well, and while there's overlaps, they are still differences regardless.

If it was all one 'generic class' with an all-encompassing faction, it might work, but it might also be dull in a way. Plus there would still be pseudo-classes because we'd still probably have skills, skills which would let us focus on what we wanted to do: DPS, tanking, or debuffing/CC, or other things, in which case, we'd be almost where we are now anyways.

Okay, that's good to know about the BNW. But my point about wanting the Fed players to get the good universal consoles that cost them 1500 zen and then us to get the cross faction box versions that cost us 500k EC on the exchange, still stands.

they would have to get some actual, truly universal consoles first; most of the ones that have been released recently are ship-specific universals

I'm still reminded of the outrage that occured when they thought the Feds were going to get the Plasmonic Leech console to combo with MACO shield. They went NUTS! However now that THEY have that combo and the feds dont they are oddly silent.

    This

Thats how I remember the argument going often: "Ahh but you feds have the maco so it evens it out!" Even though that was complete bull as the maco was supposed to be balanced against the KHG shield not a universal console. And now they have both leach and maco.

I wasn't saying that "KDF players are all exploiting nasty faces!" I was saying there is no reason to not allow access of the plasmonic leach to the fed side in terms of balance, because right now it's imbalanced. Tbh I'm not a fed or kdf, just a player with capped characters both sides, I'd just like this particular example of imbalance to be fairer.

Then remember that the Devs said all consoles that are not specificly bound to a single ship are going to eventualy be availible to all factions. This arguing on whom is more exploitive than the other is moot and silly. Both sides exploit until said exploit is fixed. Then both sides find new exploits.

Many of you argued that the original danube TB spamming shuttles where balanced when they came out, so please pot meet the kettle.

Personally I believe the Orion Slavers should be given a tractor beam. Makes more sense than any other KDF pets having one and I think the KDF should get one in all fairness.

or they rage-quit because the 'mean devs' fixed their favorite exploit
