ET Breaks EBC

It seems ET now "repairs" shields of a cloaked ship causing the ship to decloak. I know when I self targeted on my B'rel this happens. I removed doffs to makes sure they weren't a cause. I didn't check to see if this was a potentional team grief, but it's feasible sending an ET to a cloaked ally may decloak them.

I thought Engineering Team did a hull heal, not a shield heal.

In any case, this sucks. I can only have 3 hull heals on my B'rel. :(

It also repairs downed subsystems, in this case the "repair" restores shields (down b/c of cloak) and breaks the cloak.

Apparently the Engineering Team and the Communications Officer have the same bet going on with the guy running the cloak to see who can make the Captain's head explode first.

It used to have a weird effect for the 5 sec duration of turning on and off shield power and maintaining the cloak. I'm guessing it has to do w/the VM counter fix.

Would it be horribly wrong of me to conduct extensive testing of this in Ker'rat? :)

In all seriousness though, how often do folks toss out that ET as a hull heal to a recently recloaked boat trying to be helpful? I know that even on my guys that rarely heal anybody - that sometimes I'll do that to help them out.

Oh...even better than Ker'rat, eh? STFs? The B'rel is moving into position - hit them with DOFF'd APD and ET them.

    Doh, must not be EVIL...ahem.

I haven't checked if it effects other cloaks or just the B'rel.

Edit: I checked KDF Vet ship w/my Tac, it doesn't "fix" cloak, ie the cloak isn't broken when I use ET w/this ship.

Too bad it doesn't restore shields while leaving you cloaked...that I could live with.

    Hi,
is it normal the enhanced battle cloack deactivates completely when under heavy fire? I only use torpedo attacks and by deactivation I mean completely shut down triggering the timer.

    Thx for reply!

    Define 'under heavy fire'.

If you get hit by a stun or an aoe reveal attack you will lose cloak. That or using energy weapons.

When using heals like hazard your ship is visible for about 5 seconds rather than 3 as well.

When being attacked by many torpedoes and energy weapons in Borg stfs....at least that is my impression.

Ermahgerd here's a report that it now reverts the Guramba transformation. I'll try to repro tonight.

Apparently Fed sleeper saboteurs have infiltrated the ranks of the KDF engineering corp.

Check to see if ET has been used, this "fixes" the shields which break the cloak. I've only noticed it for the EBC, not BCs.

Is there a fix on how to viably use this ship for pve and pvp where you pretty much don't have to stay decloaked for minutes at a time trying to kill one target? Not trying to be mean but to me it defeats the purposes of a bug or not having to do keep that 3 second decloak just to keep up pressure of 50+ torpedoes before you kill it with no shields :(

Hmm interresting as I use a Brel retrofit on one of my chars (Ferasan Sci).
But when I use ET1 or ET2 my enhanced cloak stays normal (just a short decloak when triggering ET).

To follow up, if I use an ET on a ship w/BC and cloak w/in the 1st 5 second it decloaks. When I checked yesterday I couldn't use ET while cloaked so assumed a player couldn't self decloak in this case, but I didn't consider the previous scenario.

Also, a dev mentioned in this thread in they're working on a solution. No need to beat a dead horse imo.

Edited cause my brain is still waking up.

This is an unfortunate turn of events.

As it turns out, the modifications that were made to allow Eng Team to completely cleanse Viral Matrix are what is causing this to happen.

Which means that in order to repair the issue, we have to rebuild the manner in which ET is allowed to cleanse VM.

We're hoping to have a resolution in next week's patch.

You so know that line is getting pretty old right?

Stupid bugs like this should never be able to make it into the game.

Where's that "qa" department at huh? I'd be having some mighty strong words with then for letting another bug through like this.

thats what i figured, ET now works to well! might be easier to change the way the cloak turns shields off?

It has nothing to do with Shields Offline. It has to do with the special method we came up with for cleansing Delayed Effects, as applied by Viral Matrix, and unforeseen side effects thereof.
