No plan STF's

What is with this rash of starting up a Elite STF and not even making a plan?

Was just in a CSE where one guy goes RML, And doesn't even mention who is on Kang. Low and behold I look not a soul is on Kang. I'm in a vesta there is only so much I can do. The night before I enter a KASE not a word of a plan I go to cover the right probes and no one even covers left probes.

I mean this is in the Elite STF channel what is this lame TRIBBLE. It's not hard people and it takes less than a min to make a plan.

I'm am going to screenshot everything from here on out. You don't make a plan I'm going to start reporting this TRIBBLE.

Maybe, I don't know, you could make a plan? Maybe ask "Who's on Kang" at the very least?

Worse come to worse, you can just put those people on ignore and not see there invites in the channel.

And what good exactly does reporting do for this situation? Nobody's breaking any rules. A lack of team cohesion doesn't necessitate reporting to GM's that the mission is failing.

Just get a new/better team or fly with fleetmates.

When optionals fail then yes it does matter. I did ask "Whose on kang?" nothing from anyone then boom he launches. Then u watch 4 wet naps go off to their own merry way and your sitting here in a WTF moment why are these people in the Elite STf channel when they can't take 5 secs to at least make a plan to cover the Kang. I'm sorry but if you make the Instance and you're either not inept enough or just a a-hole not to communicate to the others then yeah you don't need to be on the channel. I was in one tonight about 2 hours ago. Nothing is said when the team is filled. I said so whose on kang, Poof off we go and what do I see 4 ppl flying off to never ever land 2 going right 2 going mid. I'm sorry that you all think this is a bad joke but this is some bull ^*&% for the EliteSTF channel.

Ditto, it's just a game, that's why you have the option of forming a private match w/ your friends...

I tend to agree on this...

It's not like there are alot of options on how to do these missions anyways (Cryptic is not good at thinking about multiple slolutions).

At this point, almost every active player knows how to do these missions, and even IF there are one or two who don't, the rest usually have the firepower and expirience to keep the map going.
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...
Let me put the rumors to rest: it's definitely still the C-Store (Cryptic Store) It just takes ZEN.

OP, by now most of us have done hundreds if not THOUSANDS of ESTFs. Believe me, if even half the players are on the ball and can keep aware of their surroundings (ie. help HEAL the Kang when it takes damage) there is little to worry about. Of course, sometimes you get teams with cruisers that run away from spheres, escorts that can't take down a single probe before it reaches the time gate, and sci vessels that use Grav wells/repulsors to PUSH ALONG enemy NPCs and help them get to where they want to get to faster.

Too many players like that in a group and no amount of planning will suffice. Luckily many of them grow as players and improve. One can hardly blame them though, its not like the game actually teaches you anything about how to fly a ship!

I just wait for people to speak up if I'm in a match I've been invited to, if no one speaks up then I will after about 30sec to min..if I'm hosting I will give out the gen plan and wait for everyone to ready up before we start.

The plans for the 3 borg space STFs are so set in stone anyway, there is no need to share it. And one player stuck on Kang duty is a waste, everyone just needs to be vigilant, and use a quick evasive maneuvers burst to take out BoPs and Raptors and heal kang when necessary.

Most of the time it seems that missions fail because people like you spend the whole match just complaining in zone and team chat instead of actually helping the team yourself. You complain because the optional objectives have failed (they are optional, most players don't actually care about them, either because they don't really see a point in doing them, hey the rewards arn't that amazing, or the team isen't really that organised enough to do it). Then you zoom off into the distance out of the arena to post a GM ticket because your not man enough to suck it up and then you leave like a spoilt baby, while leaving the rest of the team to pick up the pieces, all because you can't take it.

    This.

It is much more efficient to just blast probes and take out the spawns as they, you know, spawn. A half decent player should be able to. If you can't kill the spawns before they reach the Kang, with time to spare in between, you need to reconsider your build. If you're sitting idle in that spare time, that's a bit of a waste, really, might as well shoot probes.

If you have 3 people doing this, that's enough to roll through CSE, no problems. That's room for 2 people without a clue.

true until some dumbass or troll blowes the cube early. all the dps in the game wont help when the moron warps out and the 3 remaining people are nowhere near kang to help the solo defender as he gets drowned in raptors

The elite stfs are a joke in themselves. But I agree with everyone else. Who cares? You go through so much effort for so little, why not just do the normal ones? Or do what I do, and stop setting up for fleet combat and max out your own potential. TRIBBLE the rest of em.

Some people refuse to listen or follow team lead, period they want to do it their way and TRIBBLE anyone else who tells them how to play even if it's in the team's best interest. It doesn't matter if they take longer to get less rewards they will not be told what to do regardless of how nicely you ask.

Never expect anything from pugs then you can always be surprised when they actually do well.

I just was in one of those rare STFs that started like this:

    And ended like this:

The part in the middle was real fun.

    IMO
1 - Getting optional in ESTF pugs is relatively easy, provided players work as a team on well documented "default" plans, and react as opportunities present themselves.
2 - Grinding STF's for Dil & Omega Marks is definitely all about " more & faster "
3 - Most pugs are successful at optional, I'd estimate 90% minimum.
4 - The only reason NOT to care about Optional, ( 25% Omega Bonus ) is if a player doesn't do enough ESTF's to have it make a difference.

As for the private STF rooms from one of the channels, I DO expect the match originator to dispel any vagueness, and help set the roles for a better result.

I always have a plan. Its called 'attack'.

If anything is annoying in ESTFs it is those who think they are being so helpful while 'defending' be it kang or probes or what have you and not contributing to the completion of the STF at the same time.

Kill bops as they spawn. If you cannot kill 3 raptors solo before they get to Kang you loose any right to complain about baddies or noobs. After you kill the two probes spawn a cube and kill it too, their is plenty of time.

Or realize you are not the greatest player of all time, accept the fact it is a PuG, and have fun shooting the baddies. Because to someone else you are as bad as those baddies you are complaining about.

signed, basically you know a player is an idiot or a noob when he parks his cruiser or carrier above the kang and thinks he contributes...he does not!
