It's short.
But I had to do it.
Very good! Hope to be able to read another from you!
Mine is in now as well. I kind of wanted to humanize my Captain a little, show that he's been burying the effects of the loss of so many crew members with his duties, among other things. Chronologically, it's set maybe about a month after my previous entry (LC 35).

as a side note let me know if there are any more question marks out of place, it seems like this problem has reared it's head again.
My entry is up now. My first thought on reading the entry was 'But the Nightingale doesn't have 13 decks', then I decided that in itself could make a good story.
I hope you like it
I was actually thinking I had one more for LC35 so spent the commute planning the scenes. Now I have something else to ponder
Brb ...
Can't think of any ideas off the top of my head, but I might come up with something sooner or later.
@bortjinx
I see we had the same dilemma, and the same idea on how to get round it. But since you posted yours first I had to come up with something else, so I did
Here it is, I await your critique with bated breath.

Rather interesting entry.
I liked the Armor--very interesting.
And interesting cliffhanger--is it just me, or do quite a few of your entries end in cliffhangers?
Anyway, still no luck on inspiration on my end, but if I do find something, I'll write it down ASAP. :cool:
They do indeed, usually because I can't think of a decent way to finish them... I'll tweak it if/when I come up with something.
EDIT... I thought of something xD

The stardate came from STO Academy.
I look forward to reading others on this interesting topic
naturally the KDF assumes any ghost story has a rational reason
and its probably the fault of the Gorn

While he's a VA and captain in game, story wise he's far from it as the Literary challenges show. None of my fed captains are actually the Captains in my eye, my Engineer is Devon fine and my Sci in a basic EMH with several species programmed as defaults to accommodate the patient. Only My two KDF characters are actually the captains of their ships.
As a side note the challenge was a sequel of sorts to

The description of Alix was inspired by Zooey Deschanel...
@Squatsauce: I hope you realise you almost got me fired :P Making me laugh like that while the other guy in my office is on the phone to a customer. Shame on you :P
Great read! I don't mind it being a bit long, it gives me something to do at 6:00 in the morning . Quick question though, I noticed Marcus and S'rs share a surname of Kane. Is there anything about that I missed in a previous entry or am I just seeing connections where there are none?

Thanks There are hints in previous entries featuring S'rR's, but here're the specifics
@marcusdkane
I also don't mind the length - I love reading anyway But I like the idea of the casting call. Mind if I yoink that idea?
In fact, too late:
Kathryn Beringer - Elizabeth Mitchell (with red hair, subject to change)
And feel free I find it useful as a writing technique to help me visualize the characters, and any physical quirks or habits they may have Do you think Ashley Greene and Courtney Cox are plausible as younger/older versions of the same character?
Lieutenant Shanda (Andorian): Julia Deitze
Lieutenant Piper (Andorian): Jeremy Renner with a beard
Lieutenant Tarayl (Trill): Chiaki Kuriyama with a shaved head
Mariachi Diabolico (Klingon): Jeremy Irons in a pirate hat
Mariachi Enfuego (Gorn): Alan Rickman with a sombrero
Mariachi Malvado (Tribble): Sigourney Weaver in a stovepipe hat
Mariachi Angus (Scottsman): Angus Macfadyan with a bowler and codpiece
Crewman Lovegood the Holodeck Janitor (Hyoo-mans): Christopher Walken
And, finally,
Khas Ker'at (Arkathian): Two Doug Joneses in a brown Cossack coat.
@ squatsauce - The Mariachi band is awesome. I'd watch that episode just to see Allan and Jeremy in the same scene.
Ah, that clear up quite a bit, ty and I may need to borrow your idea for doing character bios
@Shevet
Great story! Really long though. Not that I minded. Gave me something to do between classes
