New Pc and Account Guard

Hi all, got a new PC and i'm trying to play but the Account Guard is stopping me.

After receiving codes long after I have been disconnected (so they become invalid) and all support is telling me is to check my spam & junk email folders, i'm wondering if there is a way around this thing and if anyone else has had the problem.

The only way I can think of is keep a browser window open and try to disable it in account management - shouldn't make the blindest bit of difference but i'm also a UK player

try rename ur new pc to old pc name that usualy help ... couple my friends have that problem and they solved that with rename

Didn't work but thanks, not sure my browser thing will either so i'm downloading via Pando instead and hoping some PWE/Cryptic admin will disable account guard for me in case as i've never gone through steam before.

Just changed my email address from tiscali to hotmail.co.uk and the problem is resolved.

That in itself I find insulting as my account (Cryptic side) Was made before startrek online was even released, Could an admin please look into this thankyou.


Now onto the issue


Leveling using advanced mission difficulty.

Being i played the game when it first came out and made max lvl in less than week, I decided to use the difficulty slider and up the challenge a little.

From start to late Ltn commander all ws ok, I died a few times on away missions cuz i got careless, and had to be more cautious in space combat, But this last one I just did I was FORCED to take the Advanced mode off.

For referance I have all blues either high end ltn commander mission rewards, or epic Commander stuff from fleet actions.

Im only now receiving blues that are on par or slightly better than what I have.

Mission where you have to rescue paris (Tom paris's daughter from Voyager) from the past,

Yeah its IMPOSSIBLE with an escort on advanced.

First up by the time I have killed off the support ship (When your chasing the ship around in the past to disable it), My shields are GONE.

This is with using

Emergancy power to sheilds 1

&

Science team 1

And sheild batteries.

So I get away from him and wait for everything to recharge, hull to heal ect ect.

Then go at him full throttle with EVERYTHING.

Attack pattern alpha, beta, fire on my mark, Rapid fire 1, Torp high yeild 1

Power setting is attack

I bearly scratch his bloody shields.

By the time I have his sheilds down, im dead.

His fireing arcs seem to be 360, And the rear is just as deadly as the front.

So I try again now i have his hull at about 90%, and start using my Herg'pheng torpeado (a epic mission reward from the previouse mission) To try and kite and burn his hull down.


Then a SECOND one of the ship im fighting appears with another escort, needless to say I died quickly.

The advanced ground I can deal with, at the worst i chip away at the enemy untill theres none left. (Usually when i pull a whole room without realizing.

And the "Normal" ships on advanced I can deal with, but these bosses I feel need toning down, at least on the sheilds.

Add more bad guys fine, But giving them shields and weapons that are captain or higher is just too op, and not realistically beatable while leveling.


And just to shoot a statement in the foot before it appears, these enemies are showing up as green 0, meaning there my level.
