MK XII "Premium Set" Prices?

Quote by Borticus

All of the following projects currently have a 40-hour duration. This is a variable that is under scrutiny however, and may change (they were briefly 2-hour duration on Tribble).

Mk X Ground Set (per piece)
Omega Marks: 250
Dilithium: 3500
Expertise: 1000
Commodity Price: ~6000 EC

Mk XI Ground Set (per piece)
Omega Marks: 375
Dilithium: 5500
Expertise: 32,000
Commodity Price: ~20,000 EC

Mk XII Ground Set (per piece)
Omega Marks: 500
Borg Neural Processors: 10
Dilithium: 9000
Expertise: 64,000
Commodity Price: ~40,000 EC

Mk X Space Set (per piece)
Omega Marks: 500
Dilithium: 15,500
Expertise: 16,000
Commodity Price: ~10,000 EC

Mk XI Space Set (per piece)
Omega Marks: 750
Dilithium: 20,000
Expertise: 48,000
Commodity Price: ~30,000 EC

Mk XII Space Set (per piece)
Omega Marks: 1000
Borg Neural Processors: 10
Dilithium: 34,000
Expertise: 64,000
Commodity Price: ~40,000 EC

** all of the above is subject to change!

From the S7: Dev Blog 17

End game gear prices range depending on the mark quality and exclusivity of the piece. For example, Ground Armor ranges from 6,300 Refined Dilithium up to about 16,800 Dilithium for Mk 12 Premium Set Ground Armor. More critical gear such as Space Impulse Engines can range from 37,900 Refined Dilithium all the way up to about 84,000 Refined Dilithium for a Mk 12 Premium Set Impulse Engine.

So is that the new pricing then?

84,000 dilithium per MK XII "premium" piece, which I would assume refers to the STF sets like MACO / Omega / KHG?

252,000 for 1 set?

That's incredibly steep.

And so PWE (Via cryptic) makes another $20 for everyone who won't grind the dilithium.

Now we see the whole of Season 7's "Its easier to get the omega/maco/honor guard gear" lie.

What is their obsession with 40 hours?

I mean we are going to spend like 2 months just to get to the rep level to unlock the gear then they want us to spend another 2 days to make a single piece of it?

It will be less than two months. but yeah, this "Amazing new content" is little more than grind and wait.

It is quite expensive which sucks but at least you know your getting them instead of doing bunches and bunches of elites hoping and praying.

Actually in the new system getting the stuff I already have would take me a lot longer, not to mention insane costs. Biggest grind I had to do was loitering around KASE for about 2 weeks to get proto deflector. And I have about 10-12 ships worth of borg weapons, mk xii set for every ship I have (on 7 ships) and mk xi ground stuff on all 3 of my characters. Even my Tuffli has mk xi maco set. All this was earned since July, doing no more than 4 STFs 3-4 times a week, at total 0 dilithium cost.
May 2013, automatic permanent ban for mentioning gold-seller sites
pwebranflakes: this system is currently in place and working the way it should.
moradum: I got banned for saying "I started my day with cutting off 3 MM off of the bottom of my cabinet"

You people don't appreciate putting time and effort in to things? Not prepared to work at stuff? And if you already have the items anyway, why are you worried?

You know what all this reminds me of? Ever seen Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory?

...stuff that isn't well thought out or constructive...

The issue is that this pricing would mean that it costs, effectively, 1600 zen at current Dilithium exchange values to outfit a single character with a single STF space set. (252,000 dilithium).

On top of this, you actually have to work to unlock T5 > then earn more dilithium > to unlock the store > to then shop in it at those prices.

You clearly seemed to have missed it completely in the original post, so I'll post it here for you again:

Borticus gave us very specific prices for MK XII, and those prices were not 84,000 dilithium per peice.

I hope that is clearly visible to you this time around.

The purpose of this thread is to get a decisive answer on whether Borticus' pricing is still in effect or if once again we have been told one thing only to have the pricing become something else upon launch.

That something else, by the way, is a nearly two hundred and fifty percent increase in cost.

You need to understand that for most people, they have jobs and play for fun. There needs to be a balance and not just cater to the elite bunch that complain and whine more than anyone else.

Surely you must understand that when new content is being developed that what the devs say and what is on Tribble is subject to change? Hell, even things that are on Holodeck are subject to change!!

A dev could say that we're going to be able to fly the yellow submarine and that doesn't necessarily mean it's going to happen. Why? Things are subject to change.

As such, Borticus may have said that you could buy the entire Borg set for 3 Cannibal Tribbles but that doesn't make it gospel fact that it's going to happen.

Then spend $10 dollars, convert it to dilithium, and quit complaining. If you think a f2p game is going to hand over the best gear in the game to casual players who don't want to drop a dime, you need to lay off the drugs. That might be a reasonable expectation for a subscription game, but not a f2p.

The only people getting high here are the executives laughing at us, high on arrogance and superiority.

I've dropped a tone of cash on this game. This justifies me being pissed every time they change the core of how the game functions. A little change here and there is expected. This is catastrophic and will forever alter the flavor and style of game play.

And what should be done, then, with a game that "devolves" into a financial vampire ?

Well its time for him to come out and redefine the projected changes that are subject to further change. What they fail to remember I fear is that the player base is also subject to change, alter the game so much players no longer enjoy the over abundance of resource black holes, they leave.

the main problem here is the misleading they have done.

sure yeah, adding "its all subject to change" covers their asses but they wait until it goes LIVE after being on a "testing server" for a month, to jack up the cost.

that i thought was called "bait and switch".

What happens? Simple. Each player makes their own decision as to whether they stay or go. You're not bound to play this game. There are other games out there, in addition to real life. People on this forum are behaving as if they'll die if the game isn't to their liking.

    Newsflash!! You won't die, people!!

I also understand that when you do make a change, it's better to tell your customers about it up front and not change it without any update.

    I'm not overlooking it.

The prices I quoted are still accurate.

The price ranges quoted by DStahl are our internal guideline metrics. If we ever put equivalent Mk XII "Premium Set" gear up on the Dilithium store directly, those would be their prices.

But Reputation and Fleet Holding gear come at deep discounts because we factor in the additional costs (including Marks, EC, Fleet Credit, etc) and the cost to achieve the Tier unlock that is necessary for the associated gear.

The Reputation Stores are completely separate from the Dilithium Store. Similar interfaces, but totally different access points, restrictions, and unlocks.

You forgot to factor in the most important limited resource, time. The time needed just to get there should warrant an even deeper discount in dilithium.

HOW DARE YOU! HOW DARE YOU LIE TO US LIKE THIS! HOW DARE YOU SAY IT WILL BE EASIER AND YOU WILL BE ABLE TO GET IT SOONER RATHER THEN LATER.

I have always been a big support of you guys! When ever one else on these forums would just pay you guys out, and just bag you guys out.

i would like emails to your staff saying "thank you" i really like A. and B. BUT NO MORE! I gave so much time and effort to the game but your not making it worth it.

you get lose dil, and lother items from STF so now one has credits, because its an exploit, and now NOW YOU HAVE THE NERVE TO SAY WE HAVE TO PAY SO DIL WHICH WE CAN NOT EVEN GET!

I am out... this is ducked up.

Yeah cause uh filling up a bar and then waiting around for it to tick off is man a whole lot of time and effort put into things.

This isnt a "WE WANT IT NOW!" Though that will always be a small voice in the back.

Its more of a "Holy **** 252 thousand dilthium. Are you joking?!"

Less "waaaah" and more Balking at the price tag. You dont call out people saying "Man that TV is too expensive right now." for being a whiny brat do you?

*Raises Hand* Question for you Mr borg guy.

When is the Rep system going to take into effect a players previous accomplishments with the Omega force, and if not then why would any group allow anyone to have thier best gear even thought they look at them like they are the scum of the universe?
