Same problem here, I even pre patched a while ago to avoid this.. yet it still happens. >.>
But yeah, if this 0 Dili for STFs is true, it is one mean ninja adjustment, have everyone buy Zen for their Vesta out of pure excitement, only to then get nailed in the balls by a ninja nerf like this.
Hmm... hop off so mine will go a little faster! No, really... think about it, dude... how many people are downloading this right now? How many servers do you think they have load balanced? Even on GigE ports they are going to get bottle-necked due to volume. Be real, be patient...
Here also.. about 1 MB per minute, max speed, with connection failures in between slowing it down even more. 4.4 gig patch is going to take more than a day at that rate..

you think they are going to implement that thing they have i forget what it is called. but it only allows a certain amount of people into game or server at a time and everyone else has to wait.?
this is of course after patching and you trying to get into game.
you all didnt hear we have to pay 400k dilli to patch at faster rates now oh yeah babe Im getting 15% and stopping here guess they dont want to see us buy all that dilli now
freaking TARDS PWE cant even program right lol
i believe the pre patching was broken and the game didnt pre patch. it is not like we have customer support in game.
that is one thing i miss about atari.
However, a 1.4GIGABYTE patch?
I'm sorry, but I have a cap on my internet (trying to keep the bills down) and That will take up more than my monthly alotment.... therefore I won't be able to play the game anymore or unless I find a friend that doesn't have a limit and will allow me to download the files.
Is there a fileserver that I can go to the library and download to a usb drive?
a 1.4GB patch is a bit excessive... can't we have it in smaller files and not patch all at once?
Super net speeds seems utterly pointless. Since 6.15ish or whenever the patch went up i've reset the client twice for fun. Got another 800mb to go though. -_-
I think we should more discuss why sto patches are so large. They did not change 4 gigab of programming that is for sure, so why a Patch of that size? Never heard of patching just what you change or add? My Patching attempts usaully die after an hour and every time i restart it i get a different number of how much is to patch. Guess it is hard to find anyone these days who actually does good work. Guess STO programmers are as good as their customer service

normally there should be a torrent available
Playing STO spamming FAW is like playing chess using always the computer's suggested moves
And conection is slow due too so many players that are doing the download.
And thats why the connection node of the download servers can be crash down for so many players logging in at the same time.
This happens with new games testing too like testing Alpha's (Still under NDA) and the connection is small.

For me the question is: will this ever start to patching

I notice nothing of it.
