The 26th Fleet is an RP guild, focusing primarily on the telling of stories in the Star Trek Prime Universe, and using the in game mechanics to facilitate that purpose. Our cannon, for those who are curious is told through over forty years of Star Trek Television Series and movies, specifically Star Trek: The Motion Picture, to Star Trek: Nemesis. We are a multinational guild spread over an array of time zones. However, a majority of our members are in the United States, and United Kingdom.
As of this writing, we are fast approaching a Tier 4 Starbase, as dictated by the in character actions of our fleet members. None of this is to say however that we don't enjoy the in game STFs and assorted other actionable content in the game. Stay tuned for exciting updates from the 26th Fleet!
1. Is a microphone needed, or can an RPer get by with just text?
2. Is there an ideal "level" for RPing, or can anyone, regardless of actual level, participate?
3. How regular is participation expected to be? Ie, is a fleet member expected to be involved on a very regular basis? I ask because real life will always be a constant factor for me, especially since I'm not operating with unlimited internet fees.:(
Those questions are something you'd have to ask each fleet individually. As for the 26th, I'd have to answer thusly:
1. Is a microphone needed, or can an RPer get by with just text?
2. Is there an ideal "level" for RPing, or can anyone, regardless of actual level, participate?
3. How regular is participation expected to be? Ie, is a fleet member expected to be involved on a very regular basis? I ask because real life will always be a constant factor for me, especially since I'm not operating with unlimited internet fees
1) No- we have a pvp subdivision which encourages voice chat.
2) Any level can role play and partake in stories.
3) 'RL comes first' & 'Find more ways to say yes' are our fleet leader's motto. We encourage players to be around a few times per week, but we don't start getting concerned unless your gone for a month or more with no contact.
Hey all! Would there be any interest in a Romulan (more or less military themed) RP guild?
Concept:
- I'm thinking something in the lines of a group of Romulan officers who see the Romulan Republic as an opportunity they can seize to grab personal power. They don't want revolutionary changes, they just want to restore the Romulan Star Empire as it was but with them in positions of power. The upstart Romulan Republic is the means to that end. Thus they and their military assets have defected to the Republic, who obviously welcomed the additional ships.
- Based on the Romulan "villains" we love from the shows. Calculating, xenophobic, yet with a sense of duty and honor.
- Romulan and Reman characters and ships only.
- Klingon side based only. The Romulans have allied with the Klingons before, even traded technology, and the nature of the Romulans we see in the shows (expansion through conquest, captains self-destrucing their ships rather than accepting defeat) makes an alliance with the Klingons more sensible than an alliance with the Federation imho. Also, too many people play feds as it is.

There's already STORP.ORG and STOIC for OOC and IC chat respectively. Had some pretty nice RP with them, and recently fought a pretty interesting emote war above Bajor. They -may- have blown up a Federation facility, but they lost a Kamarag, and their Bortasqu' and Hegh'ta took considerably damage, crippling our Armitage in the process of escaping.

Hello fellow captains. There's quite a few posts in this thread, which is nice to see. However, I didn't notice any that fit the particular bill I'm looking for. So! I'll post away.
I'm looking for a group, or fleet, whichever, that operates with the Federation. Something along the lines of espionage, counter-intelligence, black ops, etc. Hopefully that makes a bit of sense as to the overall direction.
I'm not necessarily looking for additions to stories already told through the tv shows and movies. A story that uses the Star Trek universe as the backdrop, and where the real stories come about from the players. I don't want to be following famous captain X on their future missions, if that makes sense.
Also, while not required, I'd like a group that interacts with other groups. Whether this is through PvP (Fed vs. Klingon forces type situation, for example), or friendly PvE (Fed group X and their ally fed group Y) team up for some missions, patrols, foundry, etc.
Anyways, I hope this wasn't too much of a ramble, and at least maybe made a bit of sense? Feel free to contact me in game @zombiegandhi, whether that's by mail or whisper/tell. Or, of course, the thread here too is fine.

Normally, I role played a lot through Champions Online ans eyed Star Trek Online with a bit of knowledge. It was a war of Star Wars/Star Trek as my mother was a fan of Star Trek. I decided to just give it a go and the space battles got me hooked to this game. While I like to play, I also like to role play too.
Though I'm hesitant as I have very vague idea of the lore in the game and the show/moves in general. I remember Wrath of Khan and being scared when my mother watched the movie and just recently got into the Star Trek Movie. First one, I hadn't seen the second one yet.
I want to join a good fleet eventually that not only plays the game but does role play time to time to. I mean, hearing different stories about some thing called Dental(Though, admittedly, I read up on them and started laughing. Love them, hate them, I give them huge kudos. Always one in EVERY MMO. I tip my hat to them!) and other areas, its left me a little lost and almost overwhelmed.
So any recommendations on which fleet to go to? I play on Starfleet side. I go by Alis!

I've leveled a human to 50 and went through about half of the game content so far, however, with the recent release of the expansion, I've decided to get back into it in force, making a Romulan main character, considering that I've always been fascinated by their culture.
While my knowledge of Star Trek lore may be considered to be dodgy at times, I pay mind towards perfecting it and actively read of the things I am unsure about. I've yet to have the time to watch a complete series, yet I've seen a decent amount of episodes from most of them, enough, I feel, to give me a fleshed out image of how a ship is ran and how one should act.
Yet, I am very passionate about roleplay and I've been known to try it everywhere, in any universe and on any platform I've encountered, mostly with close friends. Sadly, I don't really know anyone on Star Trek Online, which drove me towards posting this small add here and hopefully find a fleet that suits me.
My girlfriend and I have recently created our Romulan characters and I am currently level 22 while she is swiftly catching up to me and we are both looking for a Federation, Romulan friendly fleet.
To add a little bit of information about myself, I am almost 22 years of age, studying computer science and mathematics, I enjoy literature of mostly horror or thrilling nature and find plot twists to be simply addictive. I am a big fan of military roleplay, yet I would be just as fine with espionage, social, research or any other type one might encounter in STO. My timezone is GMT+2 and I can normally be online a couple of hours a day. I am looking for a well structured, friendly yet strict community that shan't shy away from telling me when I mess up and where I should improve myself (one might say that I am looking for elitism or something close to it).

I am the Deputy Chief of Roleplaying Quality Assurance for Starfleet Dental. As a part of our on-going efforts to remain the most elite roleplaying fleet on the server we are opening recruitment again. We are looking for the finest roleplayers to join our ranks. Obviously because of our elite nature (OOC and being at the fleet member limit most of the time) we can only let a select few candidates into our ranks.
As a large proportion of our ranks are dental hygiene specialists or fire safety officers to fit in with the community some knowledge or capabilities in the following areas would assist your application.
1. Having a B.Sc. in physics or physical chemistry.
2. Have a B.D.S.
3. Any relevant fire safety papers or degree courses relating to fire engineering.
4. Working knowledge of multi-stage pump operation on a fire engine.
5. Awareness of the appropriate use of Class A to E fire extinguishers.
6. PT experience as an instructor.
7. Owning at least 10 bugships.
Successful applicants will be given full training on how to play STO competently and will receive at least 2 lockbox ships of their choice.
Please be aware there is an interview process, there will be requests to demonstrate roleplaying prowess and that I am not one of our recruiters; I assess the recruit's performance.

Great recruitment post, Devian. As the ranking Ministry of Peace and Prosperity officer for Starfleet Dental, I want to stress that along with two lockbox ships, promising new recruits will receive a monthly stipend of 15 million ec, pocket change for many of us, but good start-up money for those joining the fleet. This has already been approved and budgeted by the MOPP for the recruitment drive, so we have about 8 months worth of stipends sitting around waiting to be claimed.
I'd like to stress that good working knowledge of Star Trek canon is preferable, but not absolutely necessary.
2 lockbox ships and 15M EC... tempting, but it's too small a price for the sanity of everybody exposed to your 'officers'. :P

Hi, I'm currently looking for RP fleets for all of my characters.
Currently I have two characters on each faction (Fed Alien, Fed Bajoran, KDF Joined Trill and KDF Romulan)
I'm looking to join any RP fleets that RP at least once a week (this doesn't have to be scheduled RP, spontaneous RP is fine as long as it doesn't happen once in a blue moon.)

It's a shame that there seem to be so few roleplayers in this game. I've gone around earth and Qo'nos looking for RP fleets and get bludgered with random invites from fleets claiming to be RP but are not, or fleets who have 2 members (one of which is no longer active.)
I have listed Starfleet Intelligence as one of the fleets that role-play. But it seems that might have been in error. This was sent to me by an old fleet, who created this letter based on many reports and complaints that they have noticed throughout their gaming experience in STO:
That does seem to be in error.
The hate speech towards Starfleet Dental is also in error. I spent a lot of time filing about 20 tickets for naming and shaming/harassment by some unstable characters. Fortunately this helped clean up the forum a fair bit. The reason why their tickets do not get responded to is because not only are we their victims but we are not in breach of the ToS.
I would recommend caution in relation to dealing with fleets that make up strange rules then seek to impose them on others.
In other news recruiting has gone well with 40 lockbox ships given away. We also have additional fleet capacity as people are settling down to RP instead of run pve all the time.

United Sector Taskforce and IKDF are good RP fleets, if I'm not mistaken. IKDF is a bit weak on the starbase side, though.

In other news recruiting has gone well with 40 lockbox ships given away. We also have additional fleet capacity as people are settling down to RP instead of run pve all the time.
