I'm sorry for the offtopic question but are the artists who make ships, such as yourself, the same people who decide where the actual turn axis (or pivot point) is placed on a ship?
This is an issue for several ships in game, and future ships in that the axis difference between two ships can actually lead to fairly dramatic performance differences.
Most notably this affects Escorts the most with their narrow arc weapons - and the turn axis on a ship could lead to better or worse performance with regard to the narrow arc weapons even though the base turn rate is the same.
An easy comparison of this would be to test out the turn ability of a Qin Raptor (base 15) vs. a Guramba (base 15).
Any comments and input you could add would be appreciated, thanks.
so how does the ship look with the maco set applied ? , i just hope it is not looking like it was rushed like other ships that have been done as of late (even c-store ships) . when you ask if they are going to be sorted you get ignored
Thanks for everyone's interest in joining this focused test We have our testers for this round and we'd like to continue doing this in the future. Please continue to provide constructive feedback on your Tribble playtests and you never know--you might even be selected by me or recommended by a peer for future testing!

Congrats to the lucky few.
I noticed the Vesta in ESD by the ship requisitions, looks good from that angle at least.
Kind of like the love child of an Intrepid and a Sovereign.

I'm rather certain its a if you dont know your not it kinda thing. Was rather sure of that at he start from the wording but hey trying usually doesn't hurt.
This seems weird to me. Previously, you logged into tribble/redshirt. went to ship requisitions and everyone tested the new shiny ship.
Now you hand pick a few players that make up a even smaller % of the playerbase, and expect to get enough feedback to support the thousand of different ways people use ships? This seems like a guaranteed way to NOT get the ship right before release.
Ships come in as many flavors as there are Pilots in this game. I would suggest you increase the testing base to whoever is on Tribble/Redshirt, if you want to get a true snapshot of what your going to be dealing with on the live servers.
Just my 2 cents
PS, i wonder how many Jupiter Fleet people will be testing this?
if u r still looking for testers bran, ill test it. sign me up
*Me*Why don't you just step away from the weapons console. You and I both know that you couldn't hit that cube, even if it was right in front of us. *Junior Tactical Officer* But sir the cube IS right in front of us. *Me* EXACTLY! Its right in front of us and you still missed it! Just step away from the console.
Given the release of the Stats, I have to question those who been chosen to test her. The Vesta really needs toned down.
Her capabilities easily makes the Galaxy-X completely obsolete (since the Vesta has a Phaser Lance). And 4 Tactical consoles which not even the G-X or Regent has, is just bad form.
Also the Vesta needs a major Turn Rate nerf and the Hanger bays removed.
How dares Cryptic to sell fleet nebula for 2000 ZEN PER CHARACTER, if an account-wide ship with superior statistic will be sold for 2500 ZEN.?
And who the hell did TEST the ship ? Some Vesta fanboy with no clue about the ship balance ?

The world’s biggest MMO isn’t item based, even though the black market item GDP is bigger than Russia … microtransactions make me want to die.”

Agreed 100%.
As a SCIENCE CAPTAIN with OVER 11 MONTHS OF EXPERIENCE, I should be on that test list. Unfortunately, its going to be full of kids/children who sing the age old song of "It's OP! Nerf it!".
I expect this is how she will be after they gut and strip it:
Turn Rate: 5-8
No Cannons
No Hangar
All Consoles Nerfed to uselessness
Value of the pack reduced to nothing.
I seriously doubt a single stat will change. They probably just want to make sure all of the abilities work how they want them to. Cannons running off of aux rather than weapon power for example. Probably testing the balance of the super phaser deflecto-dish attack to make sure it's not as powerful as the dreadnought's, small TRIBBLE like that.

Launcher problems? Try these from Cryptic's site:
http://files.champions-online.com/launcher/Champions%20Online.exe | http://files.startrekonline.com/launcher/Star%20Trek%20Online.exe
thats not the vesta...thats actually the sovereign class refit
thats the regent class is it not ?

Don't make ARC mandatory! Keep it optional only!
how do the selected know they are selected?
I'm not entirely sure now that you say that, it didn't look long enough to be the regent - but I could be wrong.

Same layout potential = check
Better turn rate = check
Better console layout = check
Dual cannons = check
Hangar for daNOOBes = check
P2W consoles = check
