They way I see it a sci/sci should be focusing more on aux power levels and focusing different abilities that drain from different systems. Like maybe Transfer Shield should be coming from 50/50 shield power and aux power. A sci/sci should not really be running that 125 cap on weps and still be able to do massive healing. The system needs to go back to the way it used to be.
didnt cryptic once tell us that there are too many ways to get subsystem power so thats why the consoles got cut in half? then they introduced team batteries that nearly have constant uptime when used in conjunction with a team?

still got a bunch of those now useless consoles in my bank, waiting for the day they come to their senses. but with leach and maco, even with 7 again they wouldn't be worth a p2w or borg console or most anything else there is now

way to many ways to get system power so i cant see any good reasons why people are against my idea other then the fact they want easy mode on system power and not juggle it.

on a sci ship, if your skill setup is any good you should get 125 aux energy by just setting your aux to 100, id put armor and P2W consoles there, maybe a turn console for those 90 degree arc skills.
well I know my skill setup is good, since a veteran player helped me with that. but are you implying that, by setting auxilary power to maximum that I should rely on my skills most of the time instead of my weapons??
because from what i see, if auxiliary power is maxmized, weapon and shield power, then, would be too low when firing even three beams simultaneously....
i meant your skill setup on the skill tree. like 6 warp core potential and 6 aux performance should max you nicely. you can swap your power presets as needed of course, you dont have to run 100 aux when you dont need it. just about anything would be better in place of those power consoles, they only give you like 3.5 each, thats nothing.
ah. ok. well he helped with my skill tree as well. Its been set up with draining in mind. Of course, we all know that power levels take time to increase when you are switching back and forth, so could I use a console with 70% power recovery instead if an RCS console? because I'm thinking that if I'm sticking close to team mates so they can heal me, while I disable, I wouldn't have much use for an rcs. Or am I over-analyzing again? lol
your the one who is using the ship, make the call. i can throw out suggestions but eventually you just have to rely on your own judgment. i swap consoles all the time depending on the situation, if theres really just 1 guy who is dangerous, maybe i will swap out my all energy armor for the armor tha counters his the most. if theres a bunch of quick escort, maybe i'll swap to a turn console to beter keep narrow arc weapon on them, or i'll switch to beam arrays and stack armor. if you find yourself swaping energy presets all the time an EPS console wil be useful. BO also synergizes well with that console, that big drain is mitigated well by it, i try to use as many things that have synergy at once as possible.
