Messed-up sound?

Ever since last Thursday's (9/20) patch, the sound for my space weapons have gotten extremely loud, but the volume stays the same for my ground weapons. I've been having to change the sound every single time I enter combat. Has anybody else been having this problem? Or does anybody know of a solution? I've already submitted tickets, but we know how that goes.

Thanks in advance,

I think everyone has experienced this. Some sound effects were completely changed as well. The volume is a bit unbalanced though. My quad cannons are VERY loud, but my turrets are almost inaudible sometimes.

Thanks for the reply. I thought it was just me experiencing this. Yeah, my quad cannons nearly blew out my eardrums last Thursday :)

Oh good, I noticed this too and for a minute there I thought I'd gone nuts.

Not to derail, but I've also noticed high yield plasma torpedoes, when fired by Romulan NPCs, will sometimes go rogue and hit either the ship that fired them or another Romulan ship. While I'm glad for the assistance, I can't say I've noticed that happening before, and was wondering if it's another new bug.

    actually...

i noticed the Starbase, when firing that torpedo spread... the Torpedos turn around and shoot at the Starbase IF the target is either destroyed OR warps out before the torps reach their target.

i guess this is the same issue.

Same here. Phasers and Torpedoes are as loud as if the camera were next to my ship and can sometimes hear other players ships warping in from sector block from across the map somehow. I've had to turn the effects volume down to 30% just so I don't go deaf. It's also most BOff powers and some Captain Powers that are too loud as well.

While I haven't experienced the specific issues here with sound volume levels, since the patch my sound fx appear out of sync/lagging with phaser array visual fx.

    Has anyone else experienced this?

    Cheers

I've noticed sound issues as well. Ship's computer announcements in the STF's I was running last night were almost inaudible while the weapons fire (mine and everyone else's) was often VERY loud. It also seems like sound is more directional (a silly idea that has become way to common in MMO's lately, IMO.)

I have also noticed Romulan Plasma Torps going rogue but I've been seeing that since about 2 patches back. Like you I'm not complaining... I appreciate the assist. However in one mission it got so bad it was comical. It was as if I were going up against the Romulan version of the Keystone Cops
:P. Enjoyed it immensely. Wish I could see that again :D.

yeah I'm having the same issues here, space weapons are abnormally loud and the computer is near inaudible.

Have this issue as well. I pulled the volume for FX down to 60% from 100% and it seemed like it didn't change a thing. I then pulled it down to 50% and all effects are now silent.

SOMEBODY messed something up with that last patch, why can't these devs fix BROKEN things instead of messing with things that work ?

    Bored, I guess.

Any update on this noise problem? Has anybody figured out a solution? Switching my sound settings in between ground and space battles has gotten old.
