Looks like we will have to wait another week before we see what the next lockbox is since they are redoing the Ferengi and Cardassian Lockbox with a few slight modifications.
U.T.S. prefix on all. (Funny thing is, not even Memory Beta has been willing to confirm whether the prefix is UTS on all the future ships but StarTrek.com uses it and is run by CBS.)
"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them." -Thomas Marrone
Timeships deal with hundreds or even thousands of years of operation. Early timeships might still use the U.S.S. while more advanced timeships might use U.T.S. or some other designation. Perhaps U.S.S. ships deal more with their own time while U.T.S. ships deal more with other times. If a ship spends over 50% of their time in space, then they are designated U.S.S. If a ship spends over 50% of their time in other times, then they are designated U.T.S.
I'd think the designation would at least be optional for ships on a mission of time travel, which would include the Relativity class (if not the Relativity specifically)... and conjecture that the Prometheus, Nova, and Vor'cha at the Battle of Procyon V would potentially be U.T.S. as well, since they represented the Starfleet and Klingon Empire (which was a Federation member) forces of the 26th century in the Temporal Cold War. (There is room for speculation as to whether prior UTC ships would exist since the Federation did commission ships for time travel missions in the 23rd century. Likely, despite the Enterprise being sent on Temporal Observation assignments, it remained USS because space travel was its PRIMARY mission.)
I'd further conjecture that the Cryptic internal push for I.S.S. as an option for Mirror Ships may have come alongside a push for timeships to get an optional U.T.S. prefix since new features seem to be designed with new products in mind.
So...now we know what it is. I think it was pretty darn obvious we were gonna get time box.
Wells and Korath, pretty obvious. The two shuttles, fairly obvious as well. More Mirror Universe ships, can't really complain, I'm rather looking forward to the Mirror Qin myself.
One that that did honestly surprise me was the Temporal Destroyers. I honestly rather like these. I mean, at least they are a unique, and original creation, and I do like that. A tactical heavy science ship does sound interesting, much like the Kar'fi carrier is.
So...here's a balance-breaker...KDF are getting antimatter spread, while Feds are getting Isometric Charge.
Yeah...wow...not gonna say anything on that, the future forums over the next weeks will do so quite well for me.
The DOFF assignment thing, I can only hope is tradable, lest you be forced to pay out the rear for it.
And the Temporal space set...phew, well, that's a POWERFUL ability the 3 piece bonus has. I mean...really powerful. At least you need the whole set for it.
Polarized Disruptors, that's a really interesting combo, I do like that as well. Two pretty nice procs on one weapon. I know I'll be buying at least one space set of these. These generally help out the KDF a bit more in my opinion, because they of course use more Disruptor-based weaponry, like PDS, Autocannon, and Javelin Beam, so they can make a little more use out of them.
I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.
I must admit, respect points to Trendy for laying down the law like that.

Please tell me you are not one of those dirty feds who always droll for KDF stuff :P
Grinding for MkIV epic gear?

What do you mean? I play both sides of this game. I like it when KDF gets anything, so I'm looking forward to what the Mirror Qin is going to be like. Although the BOFF layout will decide if it's going to be on my Klingon sci, or tac.

Well please do me a favor.. as loudly as you are discussing the "next lockbox" please also show the same enthusiasm for me (and others) and request an "opt out" checkbox in the settings for those who don't want to participate nor have to constantly discard those things from inventory.
Yes, the Typhoon would be nice. At least it looks like a Trekkie ship.
GIVE US THANK YOU FOR GIVING US THE TYPHOON! Enough said...

Timeships still use U.S.S, like U.S.S. Relativity.

That was the result of fan discussions.
CBS' official page has adopted the U.T.S. designation and I'd take a CBS statement over conjecture or screen amplifications.
The Relativity dedication plaque said "U.S.S." But dedication plaques and LCARS readouts are not generally treated as firm canon by Paramount or CBS.
In turn, Startrek.com identifies the Aeon as a U.T.S. ship.

So...thoughts, now that we know more?
