My nomination is the Maestrom skin for the Fleet Escort. It looks like a turtle that has mated with a facehugger. Yet it also looks cool too in a flying tank kind of way. Whats your ugly ship of Sto?

Kar'Fi may be one of the better ships, but it's definitely the ugliest :P

Not sure about the ugliest ship, but some of the ugliest are down to the player's choice in paint jobs.. bleck :|

I'm not a fan of the Oddy and never was. It's like they just took a Sovreign and put it on a diet of pies for a year.

That said, you could probably committ far worse atrocities against ship aesthetics by mixing parts from different ship designs.

Oddly enough that was close to my first reaction seeing it ^^, a look of horror shooting across my face as i said, 'wow.. enterprise got chunky :|'

By far the Olympic class and variants. The single ugliest has to be a mix of the 3, but frankly, even trying to take the least ugly parts of all, you still end up with a monstrosity, begging for the sweet release of death.
Most Ships get uglier when damaged, the Olympic improves, the "ball of fire" look suiting it best.
Second place is between the Kar'Fi and the DSSV variants.

On the other hand, I don't get the hatred oft-directed at the Hermes (and variants): that Ship exudes menace. It's not chelonian, it's lupine!
Though it might be too menacing to fit into the whole Starfleet ethos.

it it not debatable that the tier 4 cruiser consumes besides the galaxy class are the worst. not only are they horribly ugly, they are low quality. a close second is the assault cruisers skins besides the sovereign

Anything with four warp nacelles is not pretty, but especially the Heavy Cruisers of that kind.

Why is it that the cheyanne is so hated! what did it do to deserve this!

oh yeah those Galaxy variants are pretty pug fugly. Apart from the Venture, especially the Venture dreadnought, that's a handsome beast.

Marauder Flight Deck Cruiser. Thing is bloated and bulbous and protrusions here and there and looks like it should belong to one of the evil-stupid races (Kazon or evil Pakled maybe) or something truly inhuman like the Shelliac. Extra sad since its predecessors, the Dacoit and particular the Corsair, have this sleek menacing style going for them, yet the General level FDC fails so badly.

The Jupiter class for the Feds. That thing looks like a bloated tub in space. To me looks like someone tried to beat it to death with the Ugly Stick.

For the KDF is the Borta. To me it looks like a fat slug in space. And about just as Ugly as the Jupiter Class.

I like the more streamlined ships that looks like it could cut through space.

The Marauder looks like a giant ornate bronze peanut. I can't imagine the thought process that lead to it's design ('y'know, you don't see many ships shaped like suppositories...'). Second prize KDF side definitely goes to the Karfi. Every time I see one I get the urge to pull up along side and order Egg Drop Soup and General Chang's Chicken.

The Fed ship that wins the Let's-Not-Try-Too-Hard award is the Yellowstone-class Runabout. What a blocky eyesore that is. It's like they did the prelims on an Etch-A-Sketch and just ran with it.

Fedside, not sure if I want to nominate the Jupiter or Typhoon. Both are awful things that should be killed with the fire of a thousand burning suns. I just can't decide which I loathe more.

KDF-side, I gotta give it to the Vo'quv, no contest. My god what a half-assed ship. Its variant isn't any better.

All the heavy cruiser variants and all the deep space sci vessels are ugly. The Gal-X Dreadnought with its third nacelle is pretty ugly too.

Klingon ships are awesome for what they can do, not for how they look, with few exceptions most Klingon ships look like they were designed by a plumber.
On the Federation side I would say the mid level science vessels are the ugliest, spherical primary hulls look too primitive to belong in the era that STO is supposed to be in.

I'm glad you said that because I could never place it but you are 100% correct. It looks like a chinese "junk" ship.

The Kar'Fi made me say WTF the first time I saw it. Any of the Research Science Vessels are fugly. But what made me give up escorts, and give cruisers a chance, was how ugly the Tier 2 escorts are.

This. This. Oh mah gawd, this. If there's a more hideous class in the entire Federation database, it's the Olympic-class. The Hope-class at least has a touch of style, albeit a hideous one best enjoyed by Lady Gaga. And the Horizon-class makes me want to install a (completely illicit and unsupported third-party) mod to put a betta fish in the middle of the bowl.

I've always thought the Odyssey was just hideous. I know that saying this amidst a bunch of star trek fans isn't the best idea, but the whole frisbee-with-2 (or more?) nacelles style that plagues most federation ships looks silly and awkward to me. It's fun to think of them as big bullseyes with sticks jutting out of their butts. ;)

Oddy neck and primary hull...if they would cut the neck and reshape the hull a little it would look great actually. i will never understand how that piece of targh TRIBBLE made it to first place in the voting process, because there were some real big eye candys.
But to me that is actually a perfect representation of what is wrong with this game...so many other obvious better choices to make, yet one of the dumbest is chosen...allways.

but by far the skin variations for the galaxy class appart from the venture (must have neck piece for any galaxy class)...i'm not alone with that opinion apparently.

also all of the star cruiser skins, appart from the mirror star cruiser (sovy), i hate with all my heart^^

some parts of the Kar'fi are cool, but those wings on the side are so fugly, If it had no such wings, one could say it looks like the cathedral ships from WH40k

and yeah, basically all 4 nacelled vessels, especially the chayenne/stargazer and all of it's variations. A friend of mine actually lost interest in the game, because he thought he was about to get the excelsior as his next ship, but was disappointed to the point of quitting because the commander cruiser was that ugly.
Srsly...i will never understand why the excelsior became c-store only when the game went f2p. The obvious choice (the free one) for the t4 cruiser should have been the excelsior, period.

BUT, i have to say there are also some ships that are very very well designed...SAO PAULO for instance...very nice.

basically all nausican designs and the bortas'que (seems to be straight out of Starcraft, yet looks so very klingon)
    Go pro or go home

I like the Odyssey, it's like the star cruiser's finally decided to get beefed up, their hulls are far too skinny.

The new Korath is a pretty unattractive...whatever it is.
