Ok. So in Season 7 we're getting a new Zone with some new Missions there. Every week we get something new in the C-Store. Every 2 weeks we get a new Fleetbase Special Project. Plus there's a new STF coming: Into the Hive.
It seems to me we're already getting things to look forward to. Whether or not someone likes X, Y, or Z is another issue entirely.
Yes, but what kind of story missions? What will be in the Zone? Planets chock full of doodads and missions? Or something like another Risa? Will it be an actual continuation? Or another FE? Into the Hive was announced almost a year ago, I'll look forward to it when it's in the tribble patch notes. :P
A new Lockbox!! Wait not any lock box - this one is different - your prize will be another lockbox!! and that lockbox will contain the prizes - kind of like the mystery box but it takes a key to open both!!
That will be all of Season 7 content! Looking forward to it!!;):cool:
That's what this thing is. But sometimes it's a little too ambiguous.
And thats what bugs me , official stuff from the devs on whats being worked on instead of rumours and secrets
STOwiki is nice , but so much of the information on there is hap-hazard at times , yes it has lists of whats been mentioned , but a hell of a lot of that is long term stuff , like the Ambassador or Andorian ship , im talking like the calender they used to have on the main site

That's what I'm talking about too... but you know how the calendar used to go....
Does it matter? The devs have said repeatedly that the lockboxes are a separate drop from the regular loot tables. They are an additional drop and will NEVER "replace" some other loot item.
I suppose you could be mad that they're dropping at all and feel your blood boil whenever you even see them because they represent everything that's wrong in this virtual world etc. etc., but at that point I'd recommend you visit your crew deck and schedule a few counseling sessions...for yourself. Anger management, captain!

I've tried that, wont let me, so I just keep signing the chef up for them. He either is plotting to kill me or the most sane person EVER.
Cloaking generators break down at first sign of language.

That's not what people are mad about, they don't want giant glowing boxes filling up their inventory and blocking their view. Also, resources are being consumed to create the stuff in these boxes. It may not be much, but people want them going to other things.

Really? That's the complaint? You don't have to pick them up. And if you do, you can even sell them! Blocking the view?! As opposed to the massive pink glowing loot crystal or the torso-sized loot pills?
Also, resource drain? It's just a lockbox! The mechanics for those were figured out when they were conceived! The only "resources" they're really spending is in creating content to go in the lockboxes, which in all likelihood, would be content they'd be creating anyway, to sell in one form or another.
And you know what? If lockboxes didn't exist, those things - the bug and the D'kora and the Galor and the whatever - would probably be C-store additions, and you'd be complaining about those.

We'd be complaining less... :P Besides, there's actually a lot that goes into creating a ship. Modeling, texturing, programming abilities and hardpoints, making sure it doesn't break the game toooo much, taking care of potential glitches.... it all adds up very fast. If ships were that easy to create we'd have the Vesta, Ambassador, and countless others by now. But what bothers most folks isn't the stuff in the lockboxes or even the stuff in the lobi store, it's the method of delivery that rubs everyone the wrong way.

That's exactly what I mean. It takes a lot to make a ship. They'd be making the ships anyway, because ships are the main draw to buy TRIBBLE on the C-Store. Whether they're in a lockbox or not is irrelevant to everything except complaints that lockbox ships are rare and that you can't buy them anywhere else (which Cryptic said is the whole point).
If there were no lockboxes to deliver lockbox ships, there would be the C-store to deliver C-store ships (which you would be complaining about just as much). And if lockboxes didn't exist, they'd probably sell random phased tetryon weapon packs or add Lobi crystals to the game in some other way, the same way they sell Doff packs or Master Keys.
But what bothers most folks isn't the stuff in the lockboxes or even the stuff in the lobi store, it's the method of delivery that rubs everyone the wrong way.
Oh, OK. What happened to the statement you just made?
That's not what people are mad about, they don't want giant glowing boxes filling up their inventory and blocking their view.
And complaining about the core lockbox concept is irrelevant to complaining about their drop rate.
Just say what you mean: No one wants to have to pay for anything, and everything should be free forever. Including our ponies.
Look, you can complain as much as you want. It's a free country and a free-to-play game. I won't stop you, but I'll also exercise my right to complain about dumb complaints.
I really want to know what's next, or what even should be next. As of right now there's nothing to look forward too. I mean, what's on our radar? The Argent Class? I'm not a fan of the Sovy. The new sector coming with season seven? Not really, we don't even know what's going to be in it. Betazed? Okay... what will that place even do? Limited time Starbase rewards? What's the one we've got right now? Tribbles and a useless NPC? No thank you...
Gimme something to look forward to dangnabits!
The New Zone is supposedly going to be between the Klingon & Romulan Empires...
Which means it will probably fill the now empty space between Psi Velorum & Pi Canis...
I doubt we'll see Betazed or any of the more popularly requested star systems/planets.
(Betazed is apparently to the left of the Risa Sector anyway)
More likely we'll see the Arucanis Arm & Hromi Cluster represented as colorful Nebula's within the three new Sectors They put there.
I wonder what the names of the sectors will be... ? ...
I'll have to dig out my Star Trek maps and see what's there.
Addendum:
Looks like Zeta Pictoris could be one choice...
On the Klingon side there's the H'Atoria Sector, that could be the middle one...
Iconia is actually located to the far right of that area, so I suppose the third one could be called the Iconia Sector...
Accordfing to BranFlakes here..., the area is going to be called the Azure Sector.

What the heck? This map shows Tau Cygna (which the Enterprise visited some time shortly after stardate 43125) over 1,200 light years away from Mintaka (which the Enterprise visited around stardate 43173)... 1,200 light years in under two months?! Jeez, if Voyager would've had those engines they'd've been home in about eight years- not eighty!! Someone ought to give Geordie some kind of award here!
It will sit there, and let you fly through it... What you do inside.. is up to you.

Going back to the topic at hand, it appears as though from the post that daveyny did earlier, based on the fact that we're continuing with the Romulan/Iconian storyline, we're getting at least getting 1 new SECTOR. Not a Sector Block, but sector. It's likely that it'll fit in between the Mylasa and Mempa sectors. On the off chance we do get another sector block, I see maybe at most 1 other sector which would be partially federation territory according to the in-game map.
Now as for future sectors, discussed in the upcoming content section of the wiki, we have Betazed still in the works, along with possibly a return of the Xindi, which I think will be a new sector block. This sector block would fit between the current spot that allows you to go from the Orion sector to Kalandra sector (Beta Ursae), and Risa sector to the Dorvan sector in Alpha Trianguli. They could go as far as making a third sector for the block, but that might end up with problems when it comes to passage from Orellius to Eta Eridani for the Klingons (as that is the only connection they currently have to the Beta Ursae Block). Obviously, there's some connections that will need to be fixed as they add sectors. I know it is confusing sometimes when trying to get back to Beta Ursae from there.

I actually heard it was going to be the Betazed sector block. I may have understood that wrong.... Or it may have changed. Again.
I am not contradicting myself at all. I want things to look forward too: Stories/raids/missions/combat arenas/etc. Coupled with things I'm willing to pay for: Costumes/Ships/Premium Races/Costumes/bank space/so-on-and-so-forth.
I realize missions and such do not put food on the table, as people do not pay for those. Which is why I want to see other things that I want to pay for.
The key here is want vs. need. Since this is a F2P MMO now, I shouldn't need to pay for anything. However there are things that once put in the C-Store, I would force feed Cryptic my money.
(Take a look at my signature to see what I mean. )
I hate to say this ( because if pwe hasn't thought of it i would hate to give them ideas) but why can't you pay for a mission? What if they created anouther FE and put it in the c store. It woukd be similar to buying an expansion in the old days. They would just treat the fe like a micro expansion. C store it for 20 bucks.
I just wished we coukd get the constillation class in game. Thats what i want to look forward to

I don't know if you noticed, but if people aren't willing to shell out 20 bucks for the fleet ship modules, what makes you think they'd be willing to pay for an entire episode?
STO's best quality in my opinion is the fact that you get the whole story content for free! I've played D&D online before this was released and got annoyed by the fact that I went to accept a quest and it turned out to be pay to play content. definitely NOT something I want to happen to this game!

Indeed. How dare one have to pay for anything in this world. It is a true tragedy.

Nah, I can understand where he's coming from. It's not that nice to go "Oh here's this thing I can do" Game: "$20 please." I can more than understand why that's frustrating. (Dragon Age 2 I am oh-so-totally looking at you )
So I wouldn't fault him for that. But I wonder if this is the only way we could get some stuff that we want. Full KDF for instance....
With the game as it is, we have a hard time knowing if we will love or despise the next update. We need something to look forward to more than anything else. It's what will keep players playing, and bring in new ones.
It seems that the shinyness of Starbases has worn off, and midst everyone complaining, we all seem to be asking the same question: "What's next? what do we have to look forward too? Why should I keep playing?"
What is next indeed?
You can look forward to basic, quickly put-together, simple missions. But you also can look forward to lots of new junk in the c-store.
P.S. The new forums are damn awful, like the game at this time
