It's pretty amusing that people dancing and using fire extinguishers incites the typically sedentary members of STO into rabble-rabbling and chomping at the bit with fury, and yet no one seems to care about the at-times jaw-dropping roleplayers' behavior.

As others have said calling some of the roleplayer biographies "pornographic" is like calling a Guatemalan hot chili a "little bit zesty". This isn't to mention that they bring their very much non-PG13 weirdo kinks into local chat which isn't filtered by default and totally accessible by minors. Classy!

You really think fire extinguisers are against the ToS?

They just spray a bit of white smoke around a video game world.
And people start raging because of it. I can hardly blame them for finding that amusing.
Afraid I'm with the dental guys on this one.
I can't say I mind them dousing out those half naked Orion girls having cyber sex in zone chat either.

The things people get offended by, geez...

No, the Extinguishers, and all the nifty little devices aren't against the Rules. Device spam/power abuse is tho. Read the rule set you have agreed to in this game :)

I have no problems with the party poppers or the effects that people Earn. I have problems when it is taken past a Socially dont thing and into just a form of abuse. Straight up the back to back triggering of the devices is a Violation and listed in the rules as a no-no.

Ok where in the Terms of Service does it say that you cannot use a party-popper or file extinguisher back to back?

I don't see it anywhere in section 10. Quit making rules up. Nobody will take you seriously if you don't cite the correct sections and appendixes. There's no third-party program being used to activate the extinguishers. There's nothing proving what Dental is doing is illegal.

If you don't like the effects, TURN THEM OFF!

As for the 20-ship base defense. That's something you can't quite turn off...

Even if you think "All RPers must DIE!!" (which is a little beyond stupid) why is it so many people think that these troll fleets are "cool" somehow?

What happens when, after putting up with TRIBBLE for months, all the RPers stay in their fleet bases to do whatever it is they do (some of which, I agree shouldnt take place anywhere else) and the trolls have to find someone new to TRIBBLE off?

How many people do you think will suddenly shift in their opinion of these "fine folks" ?

Now you're just speculating. Dental has no intent to remove all role players from all public instances. Dental just wants to rid Drozana of that disgusting sexual dance called Nerve Tonic.

If you want to play out an erotic fantasy in Drozana, make a foundry mission and play in a private instance!!!!

I most certainly never agreed to not constantly using the power associated with fire extinguiser either. *
A power of an item that does exactly what it's purpose is: to spray white smoke.
If you can give me a quote of that rule, sure I'd be thankful for you enlightening me.

(* Of course there's better things to do for me.)

So, 'they' are all up on the ERPer's case because they are taking their pixels too seriously.

And 'they' are having a collective hissy-fit over the way some pixels shift position on a screen.

And you dont see anything incongruous about it.

Maybe the Troll Fleet should go out and tackle the REAL problem: the way the American media overtly sexualises everything to sell products; the way sex is basically 'thrust' on kids the second they are old enough to comprehend language.

Wouldnt that be a better mission for this group of righteous crusaders for decency?

Edit: It was difficult keeping a straight face while typing that out.

Im needling cakeballs. Hes trying to take the tack now that the griefers are someone trying "to do good works" or some sort of similar nonsensical TRIBBLE. But if they were really trying to protect children or whatever, there are millions of other better ways to go about it.

Everyone knows that they are just out messing with people because that is how their get their rocks off. Which is pretty lame.

Like I said on another thread, at least bullying in reality takes the tiniest amount of daring. This is just laughable.

Sorry, I just can't take the complaints of people who log onto STO to have e-sex with each other seriously. You are logging into a Star Trek game to have sex with each other. A STAR TREK GAME.

Why don't you take your flying brothels and fly them away to another game? You are not wanted here.

Who doesn't like little tribbles cuddling next to you when you are trying to buy something off the exchange, or having a nice fresh cool blast in a warm room? True, trolls are dumb, but the device isn't to blame. It's Q.

I thought RPers were nerds who actually think they're in StarFleet? They're doing pornographic stuff on Drozana? What's going on out there?

When it gets to the point where dancers are asking for money for "private dances", Butts of Starfleet Dental does not care. He will push them apart to keep his bar from being shut down due to censorship.

I respect what he's doing. Sometimes when I'm using nerve tonics on the floor, guys would huddle around me and it would seriously creep me out. He would come along and break it apart.

He's like that ugly bouncer that nobody talks to. I don't know how I'd get along with these antsy little children without him! ;)

My 'rendering' comment got quoted on SA STO thread! *L*

I'd quote what they said, but I'd most likely get booted off for profanity or comments about the mentally disabled or something. It wasn't flattering. :P

BTW, love the art on PG 1.

Spamming them repeatedly over and over regardless of objections is not likely 'as intended.'

The real issue here isn't use of the extinguishers; you can just move instance.

The real issue here isn't use of tonics; you can just move instance.

The real issue here is player harassment. Starfleet dental isn't content to drive people out of an instance or a map. They've followed the floating Subspace Radio party from map to map in the past. That's harassment.

The fact that the harassment has gotten to the point where the SSR people have had to start holding their free-floating parties on player owned ships demonstrates that it is an issue. Hopefully with starbases the issue will cease.

The argument about people spamming up local doesn't hold up too well if you actually examine it. You can move instance, or you can turn off local. Neither is a big deal. That people don't like RPers or ERPers is not the cause of the harassment, it is the excuse being given for it.
