Disconected from server-- Help

:confused:I hope I'm posting at the right place,if it needs to be moved, could someone post a forum link where it's supposed to go?.

Before last last Sunday,I had great gameplay, since then,I've been getting disconnects once every 1-4 minutes on average.
I've been told that it's because of season 6 patches,my fleet is rather large and I seem to be the one getting the most disconnects.

Someone suggested that I go in the cryptic file, right click & run as Admin,I did this and it worked for a whole 15 minutes before the dreaded disconnect. This is very bad, especially during elite STFs

Yesterday I did get to play the Teradome mission without any disconnects.

Today, the same thing.I ran a speed test and I average around 28bps high,18bps low on download.A friend who plays counterstrike told me that should be alright.

My connection is through wifi that in my roommate's bedroom,it's on the other side of the house,we don't have the fastest avalible connection through our ISP,that will change.

I ran the tests suggested here and this is what I came up with,I did not change my IP address yet,any ideas what I need to do?

I'm pulling my hair out wanting to play, thanks for any response.:(

You need to start your own thread and include the information asked for in this sticky:

    http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=225155

    Anyway.

Speedtest is worthless. That's local and ISPs have been known to cache/ assign a higher priority to that routing for better numbers. That's one of the reasons why a traceroute to the actual servers is asked for.

I have to admit that I'm not a big comcast fan as I've seen too many of their clients stuck behind broken proxies but I;m not seeing anything bad in those numbers. Even that spike at step 9 really isn;t that bad.

You're not running anything in the background, are you? Like torrenting?

Before putting it out there that it's something external, I would do the following (and as this relates to security of the PC, it's YOUR CHOICE to follow what I am about to say).

    * WIFI.... sigh... while I think this is the problem right here, I will move past it.

    * If a router that has inbuilt security is in the loop between the PC and the ISP, disable the security part of the router. something could be limiting or not replying to 'keep alive' requests from the source server, and due to delayed or non reply to the requests, the external server could be dropping the connection.

    * If a router is present with security, remove the router and plug the ISP connection directly to the PC

    * If a software firewall is present on the firewall, disable it for the same reasons above.

    * When you launch STO, BEFORE YOU ENTER YOUR PASSWORD, click options , top right of the loader screen, then click - DISABLE ON DEMAND PATCHING. this will stop background downloading of additional data, taking up bandwidth and lowering availability of bandwidth of your current session.

You say that after 4-15 minutes you are disconnected from the game, and then you show a ping request showing it working fine. Have you tried pinging the server for 4-15 minutes, is there a break in the ping within that time scale?

When everything you can possibly think of LOCALLY has been tested, then you can put it out there that it's them and not you.
