Error 14 when updating the game files?

Good day!

I'm currently attempting to resolve some issues I'm having with the game client/patcher.

Previously, I found a fix to the Patchclient issue by doing a search here... someone had the file that enabled me to skip the patchclient process and allowed me to log in.

Now I seem to be stuck with an Error 14 issue after logging in, where I'm updating my game files to ST.17.2012610a.16..... and the issue is that the game launcher simply gives off an error 14.

What is error 14, and is there a file fix I can download to resolve it?

    Error 14 appears to be a lost connection error. Are you on a cruddy network?

    Since the tests in this sticky are against the patchserver itself, can you provide the results to see if that may be an issue:

    Hey there.

    Managed to get the game patched, and I've had a few hours of play in. However, I suffer from severe rubberbanding and server disconnect issues now. :(

    Yeah. Added my tracert and ISP name to the list of rubberbanding folks on the top thread of this forum. Sadly, it seems there's something keeping my connection from running the nettest.exe as it always times out.


    Oh, and it gets worse. RIght now, my game always fails to load. It stops at Displaying List of maps... then disconnects.
