Well, I played around a bit in the Dyson Sphere Battlezone. Wow, just wow! It's like it's built for medics. I wanna go over the Viriosaurus rex a little bit though, since it's untankable and an amazing mob.

Bio-engineered Viriosaurus rex: I was lucky to find one relatively quickly, these are very rare. A Viriosaurus rex will only appear only on the final stage of capturing an area (not point, the entire area) and as you might imagine they're the final boss. They're that big cyber Tyrannosaur you saw in the blogs, except larger. These are untankable by a Sci so don't try to solo.

The V-rex (as it's called in the mission objective) is powerful. Apart from being the largest ground mob to date (they're larger than the landed Romulan shuttle in New Romulus: Staging Area) they have an impressive arsenal of abilities. First things first, they have a little over 30k HP (like Fek'lhr for those who have played the Fek'ihri series) so even if you could solo them it would take a while. They can do a massive "RAWR!" that summons other Bio-engineered dinosaurs so that adds to their difficulty a bit. They have those Dual Beam Banks on their heads that do deal damage but are not insanely powerful. Every now and then they will "bow" and start firing...something (didn't notice what it was, it's like a Mortar though) that deals 180-200+ kinetic damage per hit and they fire a lot of those so, since HP is in short supply for a player, they can pretty much kill everyone who doesn't get out of the circles

For the unfortunate soul that grabs the V-rex's attention the V-rex will move toward them, firing their DBBs in the process and when they get into melee range (the V-rex is so massive that they can reach it pretty quick) they will knock them down (like a Mugato does) and while you're struggling they may (or may not, it happened to me but it may be just rotten luck) start firing their Mortars and pulverize them. So if the V-rex eyes you just run around so he doesn't get into melee range.

The one I fought was with two others and our boffs (3 people, 6 boffs, you can take two boffs with you, though not sure if that will change) and they were both Feds so we couldn't team up (one would think that since it's a joint operation we could but no). The V-rex is the guardian of the Voth that you need to kill for the final objective. While the other two were fighting the V-rex I went and killed the Voth when they beamed in, so that's a strategy you can use to keep REDACTED from depleting. But two people and six boffs (I sent mine to attack the V-rex) are hardly enough to beat that behemoth so we ended up failing. I'm sure it will be better when S8 goes live though, but the more the merrier in any case.

Overall it's not extremely hard if you bring a lot of people (think Tholian Project Leader) but the V-rex is more overwhelming, mainly because of the insane size and arsenal.

Very true, I don't have a cat and I probably never will. I don't hate all cats, just catians. The reason being their extra +10% dodge creates imbalanced in ground PvP.

While it is true tactical officers can oneshot NPCs quickly, they suffer from long ability cooldowns when Tactical initiative is offline. Against other classes in Ground PvP, a Fire Team or Operative tactical officer is quite balanced in spite of his high spike damage potential. You could try taking a five man tactical officer team into ground PvP against other experienced players, but it won't end well.

Cure Ground isn't hard for any class or race in the game anymore after they obtain a STF set. Hive is difficult at the end fight due to the floor traps, but no amount of dodge chance will save you if that strikes.

Dodge should only be on specific set items and devices. The reason Ferasans don't have dodge is because Cryptic realized how serious their mistake was with Caitians. Unfortunately, I doubt they will ever do anything to resolve the problem. One can only hope.

In PvP, that extra +10% dodge is a significant advantage on top of their jump height advantage (allowing for jump flank shots). It's basically a flat rate 5% all shield/health damage reduction by itself, tossed in with Acute Senses and +75% Jump Height. With the Omega Force set and the Gambling Device, they have a flat 31.8% overall damage reduction, compared to a non-cat's 26.8% overall damage reduction with the same gear. This is before even having that damage applied to shield or armor resistances.

The trait merely artificially inflates a Tactical officer's overall survivability. This is mainly why I am not fond of seeing them in ground PvP. When speaking about other classes, for example Science officers, there are better race choices. Bajorans, Betazoids, and (Joined) Trill make better team healers or self tanks.

Fortunately Cryptic has yet to add the Avoidance stat to multiple items, it's worse than defense. I hope that day never comes, it's bad enough the Shattering Harmonics set uses Avoidance. As I understand it, that stat works like Defense in space, yet there is no equivalent "accuracy" mechanic to counter. Rolling on the ground has a +25% avoidance chance (at least the last time I checked anyway), which is why it's possible to avoid orbital strike or grenade damage at times when rolling. In the end, the whole thing may end up like Champions Online.
