OOC: Basically the trans-galactic gateway... nodes to dark space basically made and run by dark energy running at something equivalent to the sun in energy did it right before the end of the last part of the Shadow War.

Matt: Bright, that gateway was destroyed, remember?

Bright: I do. We also had scans that indicated that it was essentially a Dark Matter drive but immensely larger. We could ask the Preserver if he knows about those gateways. Its not a scientific question but one of transportation which is sort of in his realm of answering.

Dani: You wanted to see me, Terry?

Terry: *Looks at a clock on his desk...*

A bit early isn't it for the daily report and such.. But go on. I was supposed to see O'Connor first.

Wade: Hmm. Escaped but killed... What would they want from her if they were going to kill her off.

EMH: The facility where her first Ghola was created was destroyed. Gholas are clones but without genetic drift.

Perhaps they were hoping to get another genetic sample from her.

Dani: He sent me up first. Something about first impressions.

I do have some recommendations regarding security training and some regarding morale.

Wade: That would be true if there was a body of the original host so it is entirely possible. Or worse. They somehow had Elibisi troops at their command. Dunno what it indicates but I am going to ask Rissa about it and have her look into it.

    Matt: No harm in asking.

*Matt remembers back to 20 years ago, at the Relay.*

    [Flashback]

Mitchell: Any luck getting through to the Hood?

    David: I'm sorry James.

Mitchell: Then... one last thing to do.

    Get out of here.

    [/Flashback]

    Matt: Sorry... bad memories.

Terry: Go on. I am open to ideas.

Dani: We have thousands of crewmen onboard and about a quarter are from the Republic. The Federation and the Republic, despite being close allies, do have a lot of differences. The Republic believes in keeping the peace as much as it can while the Federation tries to keep from getting dragged into conflicts that don't immediately concern it. Both powers are in an arms race. The Republic supports the C.I.S. while the Federation thinks they're a rogue state...

That does create friction, and the fact that the Federation and Republic have had skirmishes in the past...

I think we need to try and promote teamwork between both parties - get the crew to socialise and see how similar both sides are.

I think a good idea would be to actually use the Enterprise as a rescue ship for refugees. There are a lot in this sector and it will take up a lot of space.

If we get Republic and Federation Officers to bunk up, we'll promote good relations.

It's a common practice on Republic-Turanian joint commands to get RNF and TMN Officers to bunk up to help both sides adjust to their new assignment.

And, as far as any hostility goes...

We have a lot of civilians on board and a limited number of recreational activities.

    *She hands him a PADD.*

I've made a list of cargo bays and unused labs we could convert into sports arenas or arcades. I'd also like your permission to organise a mixed martial arts tournament for the crew.

Oh, commander, when can I expect the ship to get a Chief Medical Officer?

Matt: Well, if you contact the Preserver, I'll get the SPT Team over to the Jenolan Sphere to try and set up that power beam in case we need it.

Terry: I do agree with you on that. This ship was always meant to be a symbol of hope and of peace. The civilians onboard are refugees. We do need a place to put them.

Go on through with the arrangements, I will handle the rearrangement of the bedding assignments. Get a work order in on the bays.. and I will sign off on it.

    Anything else?

Dani: I guess I'll have Wade send my belongings to your quarters then.

You know, Terry, we've never really had a real date. And me nearly getting killed over Mars doesn't count.

*OOC: Wade is bit of a clown and kind of a character to laugh at and sometimes with. And is a player meaning he acts like a teenager from i dunno. Meaning Wade would be acting goofy at the idea of her bunking in with the Captain. *

OOC: Yeah, I get that, but what shouldn't Dani get Wade to do? That's what I asked - I wasn't sure what Terry was referring to. Did he mean don't get Wade to handle moving her things?
