*DIS Base. Karen quickly guards as Archangel tackles her into the wall and starts beating on her, leaving cuts on Karen's cheeks, gut (bleeding through the vest), biceps and forearms, before finally knocking Karen out with a back spin kick to the face.

2 hours later. Hawk, Sanders, HK and Spider landed nearby the facility, cresting a hill on foot and finding a small compound.*

Sanders: I managed to take a geological scan. It runs underground for at least 50 meters.

Hawk: I can't see a quiet way in...

Spider: Hold on. Let me try something first.

*He starts sneaking up to the watchtower, scaling the wall and knocking out the guard on duty before opening the tower's perimeter door.

Inside. Karen wakes up on the medical table, groaning from her bruises as the restraining field is released. She hops down to her feet, cradling her ribs slightly. Some of the cuts have healed, with others having scabbed over. She can already feel the adrenaline building up again, as she looks for a way out. Just as she reaches the door, it opens and the Archangel from earlier quickly tackles into her, pushing her back into the centre of the room before Karen puts on the brakes, the too pushing apart and putting up guards, raring to go. Before they can get started, Warren walks in.*

Warren: Good to see your injuries aren't slowing you down. That would be the increased adrenal production. Accelerated cellular regeneration has healed in 2 hours what should have taken 2 days. And, of course, the obvious. Increased physical strength and durability, allowing you to actually stand toe-to-toe with Thirty-Four here.

Karen *angry*: You did this to me!

Warren: Oh, I know, everyone feels disgusted at first. But the one thing they never admit, is that they enjoy the adrenaline rush, the brawls... Are you really going to turn down a fight with 34? Because she won't back off from you.

*Just then, an alarm sounds. Warren turns to 34.*

    Keep her here.

*Almost as soon as Warren leaves the room, Karen and 34 start brawling.

Meanwhile, Hawk, HK, Sanders and Spider are moving through the base, trying to reach the medical wing.*

*Sanders uses his shield to knock a pair of guards out of the way, before Hawk fires a smoke arrow down the corridor and activates the wall panel.*

Hawk: Medical wing is that way!

Sanders: Great. Right through the army of security guards!

Spider: Is there a maintenance conduit?

Hawk: Cargo bay, first door on the left.

*Spider heads into the cargo bay and opens up the maintenance conduit.

Medical Wing. Karen shunts 34 into the wall, blocking a punch before getting swung into the wall herself, grunting in pain as a knee slams into her side.*

*Karen stands up, clearly unstable. The group can see how vicious the fight was, as Karen is covered in cuts (again).*

    Karen *angry*: I had her...

    Malick: what is it.

C.Rommel; this was just sent to us be a contact.

Malick opens the file on his padd and then motions for him to leave.

    Karen: What kept you?

Spider: Hey, quick reality check: army of security guards, augmented killing machines and crazy mad scientists, behind that door. Can we leave?

    *Karen nods tiredly.*

*Karen follows the group as they lead her out of the facility.

6 hours later, SS Tora Ziyal. Karen is recovering on a biobed, Tara, Luke and Susan also present.*

Kenar: Well, I've managed to remove the augmentations, but she's going to be high on adrenaline for a while. That'll make her easier to anger for a few days.

Tara: Actually, provoking her might be a good idea.

DIS did this to me 20 years ago. Your mother helped me through it by provoking me and starting a fight - a fight I won by the way--

Luke: Really? The way I remember that story, security broke the pair of you up before it got very far.

    Tara: Shut up.

Point is, she's going to be a little terror for the next week, depending on how long it takes her to burn off the excess adrenaline. A fight would help that.

Kenar: Do you have two hours for a medical lecture on the dangers of messing with human hormones?

Most of our drugs are designed for near-lethal hormonal overloads, breaking down the hormones completely. To put it into perspective, if we just wait for her adrenaline to burn off, she'll be back to normal in 3 days, maybe more. If I use a drug, she'll be bed-ridden for three times that long while her adrenaline builds back up.
