    Hi,

I'd just like to add to the original poster's information that two friends from India have also been unable to connect to the game since 9PM GMT Friday 24th February. They're not even able to connect to the Star Trek Online website.

They are not the only ones affected, it appears that every BSNL user from India has been affected, and the trace never reaches the log-in server. They are not even able to patch their game.

I sent a support ticket yesterday, but have yet to hear back.

Right so I found out how to fix the issue.
Seems that your modem stores a quick route to this website.
Easy fix is to reboot your modem.
After that try a Tracert and see if it now connects, if this works all is well.
This method worked for me ^_^

Sadly, that method hasn't worked for my two friends. They're both using 117.x.x.x, and this has happened before when STO had only just made the transition to F2P.

They have tried connecting via different computers at cybercafes as well, with the same error.

That problem was fixed about 10 days into F2P, so I don't know if some settings were reverted with the most recent patches?

This issue has apparently effected the entire 117 IP range which is the majority of India, our fleet is heavy in Indian composition and the only member who can access the game right now is Krazy in Goa. Either somebody went way overboard and banned the entire subcontinent or there is a major DNS issue.

I'm blocked as well. The only reason i can even
access the site is that i'm tunneling through a
friends system that lives in the states.

India is not on the ban list. We shouldn't be Ip
blocked like this :( Specially not by ip banning the entire 117
range which is our national bandwidth provider.

It shows very poorly on Cryptic personnel that they haven't
even bothered with responding here..... They're going to lose
a LOT of paying customers if they don't get this fixed soon....
I was just about to actually start buying c-points before we
suddenly got blocked.... there are other Indians that were
going to do the same. but unlike me they cant even open
    the site to post....

Krazy try sending an email to customerservice@perfectworld.com on behalf of the Indian playerbase. Maybe the issue will get noticed from the bottom before it is from the top.

I emailed them. Hopefully they'll actually give a damn there and alert someone that can fix this mess....
I'm feeling disgusted by the response from perfect world actually. we'll all submitted tickets but no
response as of yet :/ and nobody from cryptic seems to give a damn either....

Still no response whatsoever. I've actually taken to private messaging the gms here
at the tech support forum.... maybe that will work but im starting to doubt that too :(

Personally, I think this whole issue is making Perfect World/Cryptic look very bad to me.

They IP block half of India, banning a lot of good and helpful players for no apparent reason, and they do this without any announcement or explanation. Then they ignore any tickets and e-mails sent their way about it. All enquiries are met with a wall of silence.

    That just isn't on.

finally got a response from tech support.
They didnt read my post about what problem i was facing at ALL!!!!

    here's their response:-

"We do not see any bans on the account associated with this email address, nor do we see the account logging in from any blacklisted IPs.

You should be able to log into the games and website normally.

If you are still experiencing issues signing in, please change your password to have only English letters and numbers in it. No spaces, no special characters at all.

The games do not accept some special characters for passwords, even though the website account page does.

Please check the spelling and capitalization.

Please make sure that you are using your account name to sign in with, not your nickname or email address.

When using the website, try clicking on the Login button on the web page after typing in your username and password, instead of pressing the Enter/Return key on your keyboard.

Make sure you are using the most recent version of either Internet Explorer or Firefox.

Also, make sure that you have the most recent Flash Player and that you have it enabled.

Try clearing the cookies and cache of your web browser, and restarting your computer."

The problem i'm facing is the website and launcher not opening at all normally.
not an issue about login >.<
god. i am getting so sick of this.
