Well, given that my character is a female Trill whom I'm rollplaying as a freelance privateer, I didn't have much room to complain. My toon just kept nodding her head thinking "when will he get to the Latinum part?"

    :p

    LOL- AWESOME!!!

That's pretty much how I role-play my Nausicaan "Cardiologist".

Yeah. Having a Gorn shove Klingon honor down a Nausicaan's throat? Speaking of impromptu heart surgery...

There does seem to be a strong attempt to bring in the other races. The diversity of races practicing the moktovor (however you spell it) at the battle ring, or at one point with Worf in the Klingon courtyard (Fek'ihri mission, and in the first year or Kronos gameplay). I can deal with the fact some of the NPC races are becoming more Klingon like and adopting much of the culture that they like and can agree with. What puzzles me is why the Klingons didn't have more representatives than they had. Think of DS9. When the Federation, Klingons and Romulans got to meeting there were more than 1 of each side. Speaking of which, why were no Romulans at the table? I realize their part is less significant than it once was, but they might still have brought someone.

As an aside, I liked the idea that you shmooze the diplomats a bit, and then get down to business at the table. I think like most people the complaints are what happens at the table, both the glitches that occur and some of the placements and dialogues. The conversations don't make total sense on either side as well. A KDF captain is spoken to as an outside by S'taas. A Fed Captain is spoken to as an outsider as well.

I also think when Loriss first introduces herself later on in the mission, that it was odd the way she says 'the Dominion' as if she knows she is the bad guy. Why would she do that? One thing I remember about Vorta for starters is that they think they are the good guys, serving their gods (The Founders). Secondly, they tend to have a very relaxed tone of voice most of the time. Its a small touch, but I would rather see her voice acting more muted and subtle.

All being said, the missions do introduce some great stuff (like the Doff connection to regular missions), Jem Hadar improvements, and have some cool tie ins. I'm also very much looking forward to seeing DS9 Fleet Action back on line, and the advent of a new pvp map.

That was my grievance with it. The dialouge made me feel I was meant to be a federation player convincing the KDF rep to play along, which does not fit with my Klingon(or any race there in) being a member of the KDF.

I didn't mind it. Just because most Gorn don't like the subjugation doesn't mean all do. We've seen time and time again in Star Trek that you shouldn't generalize entire races. There are Ferengi that will give things away without charging, there are Borg that are individuals, there are Klingons that aren't honorable - I didn't find it that hard to believe that this one Gorn, unlike the rest of his peers, decided that he LIKED the Klingon philosophy and embraced it completely.

Agreed. We know next to nothing about S'taass, so there's no reason not to believe that he shares a Klingon sense of honour.

Given what we know about S'taass and his previous dialogue it is not at all ridiculous to assume he does not care too much for the Klingon way, or at the very least he thinks it's an odd tradition. To have his character's dialogue do a 360 is not only weird it reflects poorly on the designers. If they intended us to think he's a KDF loyal Gorn, they should have reflected it in his character when he was first introduced.

I rolled Megamind... flying the I.K.S. Metrocity

I avoided talking about the giant robot in the room, however.

Most of you seem to be forgetting that "Diplomat" is almost synonymous with "Filthy Liar".

While I agree that he shouldn't talk to KDF's like an outsider, you should remember that everything he's saying is in front of a room full of Feds, on a Fed installation.

When does a diplomat ever voice his true feelings? Certainly not in a conference.
