I have to say, Cryptic. This is a new low for you.
C-store is one thing, I understand the need for extra revenue. I've even purchased a lot of stuff from the cstore. ships, costumes, etc. But this new RIG just makes me mad. Why? Because everything on there is attainable through other means, except the Jem'hadar ship.
Why is that so bad? Think about it. Many of us would be perfectly willing to pay 800-1600 CP's for a flyable Jem'hadar Attack Ship. Most of us have already purchased from the C-store.
so why put it in a random item game? Seriously... with all the other options you have available....
Please, I'm begging you. Stop listening to Perfect World's "advice" on how to run an MMO. You, and they, are ruining this game.
What I'm wondering is if we have to be of the correct rank to get the ship or if some of my lower level characters have a chance.
logically I would think that given the rank requirements it wouldn't make sense for it to be possible for a player to unlock the ship unless they were the appropriate rank.....at the very least thats how how I would code it if I was the one designing the system

You can get the ship box at any level and just keep it until you have reached the appropriate rank.
odds are defenitly worse then 1/100 just opened over 150 of those boxes (grrr im soo stupid) and didnt get one got tons of the soo called "rare" items but not the ship

Let me refill my supply of dark side points by telling you that I got the ship in the 3rd package I opened. :D:o
Someone explain this to me? I haven't been to the winter wonderland. Do you pay cash money for these boxes or are they received as rewards for daft little Christmas missions? If the latter, I don't see a problem with allowing a lucky few to get the Jem Hadar ship for Christmas.

There seems to be only on daily quest, a race. If you win it, you get a gift box. Most of the time it´s a green one (event TRIBBLE like food and such), you might get a blue or a red one with a bit luck. The red ones are the same you can buy from the storeand may contain the ship box.
I bought 35 of the winter packages trying to get the ship, that's almost 45 real dollars. Anyone that spends that much money should be guaranteed the item that they were after. I've spent hundreds of dollars in the c-store, never before now have I felt cheated in this game. What they are doing by offering this ship as a potential reward is extortion.

Imho, anyone who spends that much money should be guaranteed a receipt. Surely they want people to participate in the winter games, not just go and get said ship from the C-Store.
i got a some boxes and all i keep getting are the damn hortas, that i cant use because i already have the hortas and i cant sell them because the market is flooded with them.... -sighs-

What your getting is a tradable item which when opened will let you get the ship. So pretty much any rank can have the ship you just wont be able to requisition it till you hit Rear Admiral or Vice Admiral.

So how do they exactly work?
I bought 3 of them, got 3 red boxes in my account.
I then opened them and i got 3 blue boxes that i cant open or do anything with.
And thats my only problem with this all. I know rare chance of getting the ship. But in no way should there be BLUE boxes in the CSTORE bought RED box. THAT IS A RIP OFF. Bought 6 boxes and all were opened to blue boxes. SUCH BS.
Extortion (also called shakedown, outwresting, and exaction) is a criminal offence which occurs when a person unlawfully obtains either money, property or services from a person(s), entity, or institution, through coercion.
and that's exactly how I feel we have been treated
So, what, is STO now Mafia Wars or something? Randon event TRIBBLE (and mindless repetition) was one of the things that helpped Zynga very quickly wear out its welcome with me.
I blew my stipend on 4 red boxes because it wasn't "real" money, but not one red box stayed a red box after opening. Nor have I been able to do better than a green winning the race. I've got the rest of the month, and I'll keep trying, but my expectations are quite low.
What I want to know is if the randomness of it all screws me over the whole way through, and all I end up with is Mark X uncommon gear and vendor trash (six NEW CURRENCY items with no other use) that I can no longer redeem come January...
Is that it? Thank you for playing, now go **** off?
I at least want a damn academy scarf. Who knows if I'll even get the right items to trade in for it.
EDIT: In case you read too much power into the ****, allow me to tell you it started with a "P," continued to an "I" and capped off with a double "S." It was not the F-bomb.

Ive heard some have allready brought 40 odd boxes and not ogt one ship, sounds another con to me.

I got mine in 5, as well as the Holo Boff.
Or you don´t pay anything and just get gifts by playing in the wonderland.
I WANT MY MONEY BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
this is theft
26 chances. Assume 100,000 people get 26 chances at 1/100 odds.
Chance of NOT getting a ship is (99/100)^26 = 77%, or 23% chance of getting one.
Since I doubt they want 23,000 people flying one, we can safely assume the odds are worse than 1/100.

Well, the ship is already as ugly as the night is dark, not much damage you can do...:D

Such is what happens with cheap, useless tat.
1. Get a dictionary.
2. Look up the word extortion.
3. Look up the word gambling
4. Look at your post.
