Personally the prices don't bother me, but then again I enjoy doing the STF's and always play different parts and with people that I know im going to work well with. I haven't managed to get any of the armour yet just on of the guns and a couple of ship weapons.
I enjoy STFs as well but I have limited play time and im REALLY bad at ground combat but good at space so i do KA, Cure and Infected and when i finish either my pc is overheated or there is like 20 min on the cure:(:(:(
Healthy population in EACH area? If only ONE area at a time has something interesting to do? It MIGHT ensure enough company to team up, but Id rather see the restriction gone sooner than later - put a timer on it like the dailies, make it 2-3 days if you want - but telling players they have to play at certain times or forget about participating at all ...
Obviously I meant each area during its scheduled event.
I like the restrictions. It makes it more likely that I'll get a team going for the mission I want to run.
I wouldnt say poor but the club 47 color section could be changed to reflect the color used in the club so new players can easier tell where the club is to relax in
Do you mean the environmental lighting in the area directly out side of Club 47 (the ambient ESD lights that recently got turned down), or the 'map color' (Red, Blue, Yellow, Green) that makes the mini map look like a 'Simon' game?

i mean the yellow indicating the section. It should be fuchsia instead of yellow to better reflect the color in the club.
Ah. Okay Cool. I can kinda see that. It would have to take into account how that color choice relates to the rest of the colors assigned to the other areas as well I think in the interests of overall good and clear choices for the IP and visual communication, but that would be a good thing to explore before F2P. It's not something you want to have to mess with after F2P. Once the F2Pers learn their way around on would hope that it would be pretty much good to go for a long time to come.
I think bank and exchange corner of the map are assigned green right now right? That is logical from a game UI POV and there is no reason why a nice shade of green can't go okay with ESD if they find the right one.
Of all the new icons, I think the style they are in really works well for the club one. Like someone else said, Trek economics not withstanding, the club would probably be under seperate 'management' (or what ever) and be able to use whatever signage they want, just like eateries in an airport are not required to get permission from whoever was last to redecorate the airport before they put out their own signs/logos.
The whole "I hate the new signs, they look like a neon light you would see in a RL bar" doesn't hold up well when it comes to Club 47:o
The whole "I hate the new signs, they look like a neon light you would see in a RL bar" ...
Wasn't trying to put these words in anyone else's mouth. I've been saying this kind of thing as much as anyone. Just admitting that the argument does not apply so much to the Club.
Players now automatically get a tactical officer at the end of the Khitomer section.
D'aaw. Butbutbut I love my Vulcan Science BOffs. They're usually the only mission reward BOffs I keep 'cause I get attached to them in the tutorial. Particularly the Vulcan cuties. :C
It's just so sad because it's another one of those where we were told we would not lose anything and instead we are losing something where I can't figure out what anyone gains from it.
Take away the Delta Flyer mission? Okay, I'm sad but I understand that you get money in the C-Store (or maybe even the mission will return after you use the tribble data to set the price in the C-store??)
But who gains anything from making this choice for us? Even toddlers are recomended to be allowed to make basic choices for them selves... "you can have the cookies or the pie, but you can't have both."
Sorry for having wine with my pie and cookies (to crash metaphores) but it's just head scratchingly discouraging.

I think it's because they noticed that most people want to pick up HYT1 at the end of khitomer (being able to fire two torpedos is nice when you're in the starter ship). The other two are sort of weak BOs anyway, since you cannot do too much with them until you get to the next ship.
So again, this has something to do with level progression and drop out rate? The data says that people who choose other than TAC get bored and quit? or something?
I'm not trying to flame or anything. I'm not saying that you don't have a valid issue here or that you are wrong to try and address it. But isn't there some other viable option other than restricting players freedom on all future alts?
KDF play opens when your main hits a certain level. Why not have each of the other classes open when you hit CMD and CAP respectivly on your main?
And again, what if you started with a TAC? Wouldn't it make sense to set SCI as there first BO so they get to try some other powers?
I made a new character a day after the change was made that you only get the tactical officer during the tutorial. The next mission Stranded in Space (where you save the crew of the S.S. Azura) gave me two more bridge officers, one being Science and the other Engineering. Along with those two officers, you get some other items to help along the way, like batteries.
I am at work and haven't logged in yet, but this was on ThomasTheCats twitter http://yfrog.com/gz427fkvj
Its better.... but the arrow is still horrific. If they got a more "Trek" arrow.... I could live with the new mockup... but I still want to vomit profusely when looking at ESD. The fact that no dev has acknowledge this atrocity on the forums other than making the icons above NPCs smaller bothers me, and I can't believe that no one in the Cryptic offices shot these down almost immediately when reviewed internally.
They are NOT TREK.
That new version looks better, but the texture quality is horrible.
When I 1st saw the current ones on Tribble I thought that something was wrong with my graphics settings because they look like 20*50px bitmaps that has been blown up to 60*150px or more

Frankly, I've always found that photons fire two on their own often enough that the minor improvement of THY1 doesn't really do much. Tachyon Beam 1 actually seems to do something on those early ships, and it's never too soon to have a healer on the ground
But I think the issue really is why take away the choice? It wasn't hurting anything. It couldn't, as the very next mission gives you another BOff.
I want my future alts to be able to pick up that Vulcan cutie, not to mention. >.>

^^THIS. They're not bad - just NOT TREK.
This needs to be put back, Cryptic.
Zero, thank you for the update. Once again I am glad that someone is keeping us posted.
Cryptic, please undo this pointless railroad. Is letting people choose from among three things that have basically equal value that wrong?
If I was a sad panda who was able to not be sad some of the time this news would make this be one of the times when I am sad anyway.

I kinda liked having it there. It may have been superfluous, but at least it gave the bridge a purpose.

What exactly is a "trek" arrow?
LOL! While I agree with you, personally I like the idea of the SF Delta on it's side. But, that's just me.

Hmm - liked this for roleplaying reasons a lot! I always hoped for holodecks that give us the replay feature...

you can find holodecks for replay feature in StarFleet Academy
