I would ask again that you guys seriously consider no getting rid of honor and merits. They were fine as was and fit really well into the.
Thanks,
Duncan
You guys should have seen the people freaking out in chat. It was pretty funny, and took all of ten seconds for someone to claim cryptic was doing it intentionally to mess with them.
Now that science can no longer subnucleonic beam the gates and cubes can someone tell me why you would want anything other than 5 tactical captains in a STF? Engineers were already useless now science is too.
The shard was taken down due to a dilithium conversion error. We were converting all merit or honor you had into dilithium and it replaced it instead of adding to it. We shut down the shard to prevent any more people from being affected. For everyone that was effected, we're looking at our logs to see what we can do for you.
I apologize for the inconvenience.
Thanks! Your quick response time is most appreciated on this too!

whoops
wonder how many people will complain if you can't revert the dilithium replacement instead of going "testing server, these things happen, lets move on".
All in all I am happy about the direction they are going with the new changes.
Did anyone get a chance to see if the military tier in the DOff system got a fix?
Yes and no.
On the new Progress Tracker window it correctly showed 15000 as my next milestone, but on the old commendation window it still shows tier 0, when I already have over 2500 cxp.

Stupid dps races.
They also significantly increased the regen healing rates apparently according to another poster earlier in the thread. These changes make no sense for the normal difficulty level. I thought the intent of normal difficulty was for the mission to be easily puggable regardless of group composition so everyone that didn't want to deal with the difficulty of the elite versions could have fun?

Agreed to some extend atleast.
Had a conversation with a minion about right this fact.
Because of the Nature that Science powers tend to have high cooldowns and in case of the STF only minimal DPS compared to Escort bring into a fight.
The fate is more or less sealed if there are no tweaks to give Sci Vessel and Cptains again a edge.
After all it is a Team game and should not be a *pew* *pew* fest.
Still i have high hopes and regard in and for Goozer to tip the toe away from a raw dps race STF.

True, but they could always give out a big chunk of refined dilithium to everyone affected to offset the loss.

I was about to submit a ticket for this asking where all my dilithium went, hehe.

why would you want ENG and SCI along.. CUZ THE SILLY GATE SHOOTS BACK. ANd ENg are far from useless.. My KDF constantly is proving that point.. to bad you feddies don't have the Hybrid Cruisers/escorts we KDF like to call "Battlecruisers" neener!
...................course, they could be a little more hybrid.. be nice if the Vorcha retrofit has a LtC tac slot... make a great deal of sense for that ship too

The problem is this change will happen to EVERY character on HOLODECK when this goes live so it could get messy if there is a bug in the system, even though it is unlikely they are going to have diluithium taken from them, but if there is a bug in the system, they need to iron it out now rather than later. (odds are they made teh conversion for people on holodeck who aren't likely to have dilithium to loose by the conversion, but it is still possible. Better safe than sorry.
Odds are this bug could hit us all again by eating the Dilithium chunk we'll be getting for Holodeck from leveling up someone to 31+ during the first 3 weeks of testing. If that dilithium was a separate one shot adding, and it occurs before the conversion, the one shot would be eaten and gone. That would be a problem. Fortunately with logs they should be able to figure out how much dilithium we had from before the patch as no doubt they have a rollback ready incase patch broke the system so bad that they had to remove it.

They're useless due to the fact that they don't contribute much to the downfall of the objectives. One is not enough to heal everybody, and two of them severely detriments the overall damage output.
Engys/Cruisers need aggro powers. That way they can focus on outputting damage instead of healing.
So new layout is now:
Tac Escort Retrofit (Defiant):
3x Eng
2x Sci
4x Tac
Exploration Cruiser Retrofit (Galaxy):
4x Eng
3x Sci
2x Tac
Long Rang Science Vessel Retrofit (Intrepid)
3x Eng
4x Sci
2x Tac
Huh. So the Def-R is basically a Fleet Escort., Gal-R = Star Cruiser, and Int-R = Deep Space Sci Vessel. Yeah. Looking only at the console layouts, that makes sense to me.
I would ask again that you guys seriously consider no getting rid of honor and merits. They were fine as was and fit really well into the.

I have to agree, there is absolutely no reason why Merit/Honor should be removed.
In addition I still want to know how we are going to be able to respec now without Merits/Honor.
I'm slightly worried about the nerf to SNB on the STFs without having torpedos affect those targets correctly. The SNB "bug" was kind of a "workaround" for another bug, so they shouldn't fix one without fixing the other as well.
I'm confused. Why do people care how much dilithium Tribble characters have, in the long run you'll be using your mains on the live server, no?
it's not so much caring as it is common courtesy. plus, they're supposed to be testing out the new economy. wiping someone's 100k from their account really isn't going to make them want to start again, is it?
I`m kinda ****ed, First, I had to pay a month subscription to get on the F2P test, now I had a little over 30,000 in refined delithium collected and after this patch suddenly I`m down to just above 10,000 what is up with that?!?
I'm sorry, why would you pay to play a beta?
And why would you expect your dilithium to not be affected as they make changes to the economy?
Ok, what do you think of this: 31 days = VA token. To explain,
VA ships costs 2k CP(c-points). 2k CP costs $25. They dont want people going gold for 1 month, which only cost $15, to get the free VA token and then canceling, because that would give you a $10 cheaper way to get a VA ship when you got to that rank.
However, if someone is subscribed for 2 months that = $30, meaning Cryptic gets the $25 they would normally get for buying 2k CP and an extra $5. However, a person wouldnt actually have to wait 2 full months before they got their VA token, they would only need to wait until they were billed the 2nd time.
You are billed every 30 days, so that means after 31 days as a gold member you would qualify for your free VA token. How does that sound?
Are we there yet?? Are we there yet?Are we there yet?? Are we there yet?Are we there yet?? Are we there yet?Are we there yet?? Are we there yet?Are we there yet?? Are we there yet?Are we there yet?? Are we there yet?Are we there yet?? Are we there yet?
WT... I tired to log on when I got home from work at 4:30 and tribble was down... this reminds me of Open beta lol

Regardless, I'm sure it'll be fine anyway.
Unless I missed something the exchange of C-Store points for dilithium hasn't started. That being the case the true economy testing hasn't even started. Of all the things they could be working on, spending time sifting through logs or potentionally writing a buggy script to sift through logs to see how much dilithium a beta character should have is pretty low on my priority list.
Edit: The exchange of C-Store to dilithium and back is really the only economy of any significance.

if they can't restore it, then something like that would be a show of good faith.

Three cheers to you for expediency, good sir!

So by checking those logs they can fix the issue.

If this is to stay, then gold members should have unlimited refining rights.
Also nerfing subnucleonic beam is a bad move. If anything, it should have more power.
I'm confused. Why do people care how much dilithium Tribble characters have, in the long run you'll be using your mains on the live server, no?
That was one of the first things I checked. I was listed as Tier 1 like I should be rather than Tier 0.
Then I checked my dilithium and had a sads, but instead of freaking out I checked into it and saw what happened, strange right?
Thanks for this. Good to know.

QFT. This stuff isn't permanent. The only thing that matters is that the problem is fixed so that this doesn't happen on live when launched.
I have to agree, there is absolutely no reason why Merit/Honor should be removed.

True, I was looking forward to getting some better gear to play around with though. Cest la vie as the saying goes.
