As a follower of the enterprise nx series, that loved that one, I was overjoyed to see the NX Enterprise ship and uniforms pack was available, and moved to snatch it up and buy it.
Until I realized it was a lieutenant ship, with few weapon slots, so instead I only bought the uniforms.. My brother in law, who plays snatched up the original series pack, but the ships unusable!
Why can't there be a VA version of these ships!? I would buy both complete packs most likely, I love the ships of this game more than the weak gameplay, and honestl don't see a reason those ships cannot have a VA version, say with the complete package for all I care, itd take your team 15 minutes to add hull hp, boff slots, and weapon slots!

Please no. We already have too many outdated vessels playing at higher levels/end-game.
Not to mention that CBS has to approve in-game additions such as ships. They already shot down a T5 Connie. It didn't stand a chance from what I can tell. The NX-class stands even less of a chance.
I wouldn't mind seeing an LT CMDR rank NX or higher. What we really need is a mechanic to allow players to 'retrofit' ships they love. It's kind of odd that our captains keep jumping to new ships.

What you like that there's only 6-8 ships per faction? I'm tired of seeing 500 enterpise's defiant's, multivector, voyager's running around every day, the ships already in the game with upgraded from original ship stuff. Making it a 4 front 4 aft medium cruiser of same side shouldn't be ht hard
And you flying a excelcior and a b'real! Their both massivly outdated ships that were updated! If you read the story behind them you'd know that...
I'm not saying use the current nx.. I'm saying there needs to be a VA version of bought ships, like the defiant, voyager, enterpise, and multi vector style are...

Yeah me too! I cant understand why you cant have it as a ship costume. I've just got commander and would love to fly NX class but its no good for missions I'm on. F2P will sought this out I think.
A skin for the T-1? sure. Why not? I mean people have used T-1's all the way to end game. So you can do that and have it look new and modern, Maybe one day you can even upgrade its weapon slots and Boff slots, but an NX hull can't handel the modern equipment needed for a high end starship, thats why the Recreation we have in game is basicly a Trainer ship.

What makes you think that the NX Replicas are made from anything other than the same materials as a Sovereign, or a Galaxy? It's specifically stated this is a modern starship fashioned in the likeness of the famed NX-class.
Exactly sprint, this isn't the original as was plainly stated its a remake based off the designs upgraded to modern day... Cbs shouldn't be an issue, if it is then cryptic should have paid more attention to what it signed up. For and ran for the hills... I seriously doubt CBS would care if a favored ship was made better as long as its specificly said it's NOT the NX original!

This.
Call it an Archer-class scout ship and there ya go :P
What makes you think that the NX Replicas are made from anything other than the same materials as a Sovereign, or a Galaxy? It's specifically stated this is a modern starship fashioned in the likeness of the famed NX-class.
Size, shape, and mass. The material doesn't matter, it does not have the free space capable of operating as a highest tier ship. (The Defiant isn't even a fully capable High Tier ships, its engines and weapons with a hull). The design, and its size is just not intended for modern systems. The Engineering department I don't think is even large enough to hold a Defiant's warp core. The Connie didn't have this problem so much. Its size, would have allowed for it to have most modern systems fit and it could handle that load. The NX's hull is just not suitable for it. The proposed Series 5 refit, might have been a viable Tier-3.5 ship but, I cannot, in all my knowledge of trek, see the NX's keel being able to hold the systems capable of being a full fledged modern starship.
The NX is barely bigger than the Defiant. about 40 meters wider, 10 taller, its only true blessing is being 100 meters longer roughly. It had at its time a rough crew count of 80, cramming modern equipment into that hull would leave little room for crew, meaning it wouldn't be capable of long range operations, it'd have little room for supplies, little to no recreation facilities, few replacement parts. The ship is just not of a size and design to be a modern starship.

The Defiant ISN'T a long range ship. Plus the NX is a light tactical ship. Why couldn't it have T5 specs like the Defiant-R does? That makes NO sense.
Also, All ships should have a lower and high level for players at those levels. If I happen to have one absolutely favorite ship from a show then I should have the option of playing it without having a handicap at that level.
I'm a VA, and I'd love to fly around in a level appropriate NX ship. Flying a ship like the Akira just because it looks similar is not the point. Oh what's that? You can't get a Connie? So play an Excalibur, it's basically the same. But you may say, "NO, I WANT THE STUPID CONNIE!" Well it's the same for me. I don't want to play in the Akira, I want to play in the NX.
I don't care if it's not period correct. Nothing about some of these ships is period correct. But it's a fantasy, it's a game, it doesn't matter.
Plus aren't we paying customers? Shouldn't we get what we want in the end? There's absolutely NO reason CBS can't approve these ships. They just have a decision to make, they're hardly involved at all in the game. What do they care????
Cryptic can't add anything to the game without CBS's approval. And CBS is very intent on keeping to canon. Thus no T-5 Connie and no T-5 NX. Our want has nothing to do with it, they're keeping to their standards (this is something CBS has over Lucasfilm/Lucasarts. They hold to their standards and don't simply fall back off their morals to make a buck).
Also, and this was an issue with the T-5 connie debate, avoiding responding to a counter argument, by simply typing caps, and using exclamation points, and hitting the 'one thing' that 'kinda' breaks the argument while avoiding every other point of the discussion does not help you make your case. It's the forum equivalent of putting fingers in your ears and going 'na na na i can't hear you'.
Anyway. You're a VA, You want to be in an NX. Well I have a VA, I want to fly around in a T-5 AKira, or a T-5 Rhode Island. One's been confirmed to not be T-5 and is instead a Tier 2, the other is "Probably not going to be a T-5". Both are modern ships, both have canon reasons to be T-5. They're not happening. Our want, has nothing to do with these decisions. Our money, is not enough to make them break their ethics.
Also this isn't fantasy, this is Science Fiction. Science Fiction has some roots in reality. I touched on those with my explanation about its size, and design, to completely incapable of operating as anything more than a close support patrol ship. The Defiant was purpose built for its current role the NX was not. If it housed modern weapons. Modern sensors. Full modern power systems. Engineering systems, it would have very little room left to fit all of the following: Cargo, Shuttles, Crew & Quarters, Food, Water, Air Reserves, Replicator Material, Spare Parts. It would make the Defiant look like a luxury liner.
Cryptic has to put out anything thats says CBS it the reason. Tell I see it I do not belive them. CBS green lighted 2 ships from alternate timeline and there now less 3 NPCs in the game from Alternate Timeline and there dare to call this the Prime Timeline. LOL

OK Alastor, take an Akira, and flip the pylons so the nacelles head up instead of down. Boom NX class...that's the size of an Akira! Should have plenty of space to do all loads of stuff!
OK Alastor, take an Akira, and flip the pylons so the nacelles head up instead of down. Boom NX class...that's the size of an Akira! Should have plenty of space to do all loads of stuff!
1. Akira: using the ILM sizing chart in comparison to the Sovereign is 500meters or so long.
2. NX: 225 meters (Memory Alpha)
Other points
The Akira and the NX are not the same design. They share a catamaran concept, but the Akira is larger, bulkier, and more robust.
An Akira with its Pylons flipped is not a giant NX. Its an Akira with its Pylons flipped. That's sorta like taking a cup and putting flowers in it and calling it a vase. Anything based on the Akira would be based on the Akira. It's also taking the "Use the Akira it's tier 3 and looks the same" argument that has been shot down, and twisting it now to support your own needs.
Size, shape, and mass. The material doesn't matter, it does not have the free space capable of operating as a highest tier ship..
On the contrary- the hull composition does matter. The materials which crafted the original NX series are no longer used in modern day starships, per Star Trek: The Next Generation: Indistinguishable from Magic which deals with the discovery of the NX-07 Intrepid during the late 2380s. Ships from the 2150s would litterally fall apart under the same velocities traveled by 24th century craft due to the relatively brittal nature of the metals. As well as the inefficacy of the warp field generated by primitive warp coils.
The ship's interior spaces would have more than enough room to fit modern (25th century) day hardware. In the 1960s a computer much less capable than your personal computer took up the space of an entire room. Technology shrinks as it advances, it becomes more efficient. As for the engineering compartment, the NX-class as seen on Enterprise and Columbia appeared to be drastically larger than that of the Defiant or the Valiant.
The basic design is solid and has a track record of success, the only reason the NX-class Replica could not be converted into a T5 or higher vessel is if there was some such decree from CBS. To date, no such evidence has been presented by the development team.
The NX-01, even the modern variation, is an extremely tiny vessel. It'd be extremely hard to fill it with all the technology necessary to make it a Tier 5 vessel. We're talking about a seven deck vessel with a crew barely topping seventy five. A Tier 5 version of a ship this small is only slightly more believable than a Tier 5 Oberth or Captains Yacht.
I understand why you want it, because it's a fairly iconic vessel, but that'd be extremely unlikely, to say the least. For a number of reasons, including continuity, feasibility, CBS's wishes and common sense. I simply don't think it could possibly be on the table, as much as the irony would please me. So begging for it or rationalizing it is unlikely to make it happen.
Now what might be feasible is Thomas Cat and Captain Logan collaborating on a Tier 5 refit version, which would actually be more like an homage vs. and actual T5 version of the ship itself. Maybe something like what was planned for Season 5. You could have the catamaran style design, but also have the lower hull connie style. A slick trick would be to make the lower hull optional like the missions pods of other ships, like high tier science vessels for the design purists.
Not an exact copy of what we've seen design wise already, but make it something along the lines of a bird of prey by giving it some low rank universal crew slots, offset by a smaller number of weapon slots and perhaps a console which gives it a massive boost to turn rate and a bit to speed, like evasive maneuvers but designed to allow it to strafe a little.
So, sort of like a tac/bop hybrid. The sort of thing that'd be excellent to send in in advance of the fleet scout wise.
Alternately, you could give it some other fun consoles, like a built in version of Fire At Will, a small AOE centered around the vessel, great for clipping the wings of pesky fighter insects.
I'm all for a t5 anything or as i said before holo-emitters that can make your fleet escort or defiant look like a NX.
For those of you wanting realism.... well how realistic is it to slingshot around a star go back in time grab a couple whales then go back to the future and save the earth from a soda can that has a disco ball on a stick attached to it?
So glad the habit of "pick on thing I can defeat avoid rest of solid argument" continues.
Anyway, my statement of material doesn't matter was not saying it doesn't matter all together, it was because you had said "What makes you think that the NX Replicas are made from anything other than the same materials as a Sovereign, or a Galaxy? It's specifically stated this is a modern starship fashioned in the likeness of the famed NX-class." while avoiding the rest of my meaning in that its keel design, how its laid out, is not viable.
And no, the NX does not have enough room for all the modern equipment on a starship. It cannot house a modern warpcore. It cannot house modern shuttles short of the Type-10 (which limits its range). It cannot handle a modern computer core. Its design cannot facilitate modern sensors or spectrometric. All significantly large equipment that the hull just doesn't have the space to house. This discussion is akin to pondering how to take a U-boat and fit it with all the equipment used on a Virginia-class Submarine. Both concepts hold similar tunes. Long, roundish, intended to go under water. But ones older, and smaller, and just can't handle the stresses of modern equipment.
No matter how updated the hull material, no matter how updated the construction methods, the NX is not of a Design capable of handling the stresses of a Modern 25th century starship. The Design would need to change, it would need to be updated and modernized, and then it wouldn't be an NX.
I can't wait for Free-to-Play. Free-to-Play will bring even more players. More player's who might observe what the OP has. Who likely won't buy into the 'the tech won't fit in your space frame argument' anymore than I do.
Given time CBS/Perfect World/Cryptic will all be in agreement that there be profit to be made from us retro-starship fans. I believe it to only be a matter of when.
So glad the habit of "pick on thing I can defeat avoid rest of solid argument" continues.

So all of that equipment mentioned, doesn't fit into the much smaller defiant? I didn't realize that they didn't have modern equipment in my refit..
I'm not asking for the original equiped and built nx, what you don't seem to grasp is the nx in game has been updated, and surprise surprise the materials must have been upgraded since it can reach current warp speeds... Your argument is completly invalid since this is a REMAKE of the classic as the description says... They can remake even enlarge the design, hell I'd be happy with a holo emitter or skin!

The defiant is a purpose built starship, and no it doesn't have advanced senors or astrometrics or large shuttle bays or holodecks or cargo bays or any of that stuff. So no my argument is not completely invalid, you just refuse to face my points and are bouncing around the issue.
Also I pointed out that the NX is a modern replica, so no surprise surprise there, especially about materials since I spend several posts talking about that, I also pointed out that its a trainer due to its size and incapability of housing much needed equipment for full scale starship operations. Maybe you should actually read my posts and focus on the points I made instead of trying to bend and twist words?

Ya.. Let's take that little ship to khitomere accord VA mission, that will work really well..
Some of us actually have money they'd spend to get what they WANT. To bad Cryptic doesn't want it..
Fixed it for you - because I'm willing to bet Cryptic would if CBS didn't tie their hands.

No matter how updated the hull material, no matter how updated the construction methods, the NX is not of a Design capable of handling the stresses of a Modern 25th century starship. The Design would need to change, it would need to be updated and modernized, and then it wouldn't be an NX.
Given time CBS/Perfect World/Cryptic will all be in agreement that there be profit to be made from us retro-starship fans. I believe it to only be a matter of when.
Touche. I'll use the escape tactic of running and shouting "I'm not at endgame" to dodge ridicule.
