I know T5 Connie threads are dead horses and should not be discussed.
But with the release of the Rhode Island, and the talk of 15 more of these kinds of ships coming along ...
Can I ask if one of them be a T4.5 Constitution Class ship? That's not a T5 Connie. So that sidesteps the entirety of that old dead topic. It's a T4 ship. With a better BOFF layout than T4 cruisers (much like the RI has better boff layout than the T2 Nova).
That would address my primary motivation in wanting a higher tiered Constitution. I just want more BOFF powers, to make it more functional, so I can fly it at end-game with all the other TOS series stuff I've acquired in this game.
And it sticks with the whole "CBS won't let us" stuff about T5. It's NOT T5. It's T4, with extras. Extras I'll pay for.
I was hoping this wouldn't come up till the next big mention of ship upgrades. but I've come up with some nice T4.5 Constitution ideas in the past few months.

Hahahahahahaha how about the 4.3 conny o wait they said no ok.... How about a 4.1 still no... dang.
CBS doesn't want a more powerful constitution class starship Maybe in the far future but not now. Besides the DEV team has ALOT to do. Can we please let them do it for a week

Mercifully!
We don't need ANOTHER rustbucket that can blow things faster than a souvereign-class starship.
(Even though the Lakota-Subtype Excelsior is somewhat canon)
I want this in a big bad way. Stop denying me the best looking ship in Trek >.>
^^^^ Agree with this sooooo damn much!
So let me just reiterate this to any Perfect World people who happen to bother with the conversation here ...
1- This ship is popular.
2- Many of us will gladly pay extra, real life dollars, for this ship at a higher tier.
3- The new x.5 system that seems to be the way Cryptic wants to please you all, would be perfect for this ship.
It's just that simple really. Tier 4 connie, with the extra x.5 stuff. It's a great idea! Let's make it happen!
Maybe this is is a chance for my "Heavy Frigate" concept to bet life though. As I do feel for all the ships the Feds do have, they do lack a small, multi-roll ship. Not quite like our BoP, not that modular, but viable in various situations without being OP'd like the proposed concept of the Odyssey being full on universal.
jeeez, you guys want another rhode island or something?
I think superchum is just making lemonade. So what, if the devs want to introduce p2w and tier .5, why not use this to get your favorite pet ship out of at least. It doesn't seem like they are listening to critique anyway, maybe an additional suggesting working exactly with what they are doing already will work at least?
I doubt it will work.
Personally, I don't want to see any more TOS constitutions in this game than I already see. But I wish superchum luck anyway. At least one of us deserves something nice...
this is bad, and you should feel bad. the rhode island is pay2win trash, and wanting another ship like that is terrible.
You could take it or leave it, at least that's what the rest of us were told.
Getting back to business as usual though, I really think a T4.5 Connie would be super duper win-win-win. A win for players. A win for devs. And a win for Perfect World.
The mere thought of it brightens my hopes for the future.
This is NOT a T5 thread. This is completely different.
CBS said no to upgraded TOS Connie.
That's not what they said. They said no to a T5. Not an upgraded. They can't say no to an upgraded Constitution. They already have one in the game.
I'm not asking for an end-game T5 ship.
I'm asking for a T4 version. With some added X.5 bonuses that fall in line with the Rhode Island schematic.
I'd take a T3.5 too.
Just something with more BOFF slots. So it's not just Ensign, Ensign, Ensign. So it's less boring to fly at higher levels. And it reflects the show more (Spock was a commander at the science station, Scotty was not an ensign engineer).
I just want a more interesting version of the ship to fly, and they're looking like they're laying the groundwork for this.
So no, this is NOT the same old topic. This is a brand new topic. With additions based on the very very very new thing they JUST released.
CBS said no to upgraded TOS Connie. Cryptic is also against the idea of having lower tier (old) ships having the same capabilities as higher tier.
Hmmmmm let's seee Off my head, the Vulcan ship, the Excelsior they are "old" ship designs with the same capabilities as higher tiers.
Then we have the Nova, a brand spanky new ship at lower tier.
I say there is a little wiggle room here in order to give players what they want.
And Cryptic needs to keep the cash flowin in. Maybe they should listen to what people would buy.

Retains all skins.
With the TOS skin included? I'm in.
IMO, The Rhode Island approach really oversimplified how to get that variant into game. After reading the Engineering Report my heart sank at the thought of a 2.5 Constitution following the same approach. Which, IMO, would be just as wasted. While I, too, am hopeful for the ship upgrade system it just isn't anywhere near the here and now. But the incoming x.5's are in the here and now. So this lemonade approach appeals to me.
I would fully support this proposal. I believe I have already suggested it, as it would satisfy the "not as powerful as a sovereign" people because it wouldn't be, but it would still be a competative ship to use at end-game if you wanted to. My only change would be to the BO layout. Make it more cannon:
Cmd. Sci
Lt. Cmd Eng
LT. Tac.
LT. Eng.
That would be a very versatile little ship that could fill a great many rolls!

Cryptic, please, just give those guys a TOS Connie holo-projector purchasable at DS9 for latinum and leave it at that.

We did. They didn't listen. So ... let's jump right in to the deep end of the pool!
I'm still saying no.
And you really think they'll be more apt to say yes because you subtracted 0.5 off the tier?
I still say: Give them the Conny look-alike from the Enterprise F contest.
I think that is a pretty fair compromise or everyone...
