IMO, they would make more C-Store $$$ if they added:
Borg TNG armor (MK X)
Borg Arm firing plasma weapon (MK X)
Borg Sphere skin (ship costume)
Borg tailor pack ( added clothing options)
Borg Alcove (Ship interior decor / or buff)
Just my 2 cents....
Have to get this if it ever becomes available. My liberated borg captain has already given borg implants to most of her crew with the Seven of Nine implants. It is amazing how many borg implants are located in the chest area Although, only liberated borg are willing to undergo assimilation again as long as they still keep their free will.
As far as liberated borg being through other means, then only a 600 day or longer vet reward is acceptable. 600 days is what $300 will get you if you don't go for the special subscription offers. If someone has paid $300 on subscription fees, then they should get a liberated borg captain.
I purchased my lifetime so that I wouldn't have to pay a subscription fee ever again. I could care less if the Liberated Borg race was handed out to everyone for free. A lot of folks could enjoy it.
As a veteran reward, I say fine. Why? Because anyone that has subscribed for 600+ days has payed their dues in my opinion. But to put it in the C-Store? No, I am firmly against it.
I agree with my fellow career officers who paid for our lifetime subs and don't want the lib Borg in the C-Store. We don't have many exclusive things to distinguish us from the monthly players, other than our career titles and our liberated Borg captains. If they give all players the option to have a liberated Borg captain, it really makes my 300 dollars I paid a slap in the face. Sorry monthly kiddies, no lib Borg for you.
I COMPLETELY AGREE,,,
lifers arent better...its the people who dont buy lifetime that cryptic benefit from the most.
One is no more "special" than the other. Yes, in the long run those who pay by the month end up giving more money to Cryptic. However, the Lib Borg captain was a gift to lifers as a "thank you" to us. And it should either remain that way or be given out for 600+ day Vet reward. Anything less is unacceptable.

I would make a slight correction, people that pay a subscription for more than 20 months benefit Cryptic the most. If I play for only 1 year on a lifetime subscription, then I would benefit Cryptic more than if I play for 1 year with regular subscriptions.
However, the point where paid subscriptions have more benefit to Cryptic than lifetime subscriptions is more difficult to pin down. If I put $300 in to a savings bond at the beginning, then I would make more money than if I put $15/month for 20 months. It is the same thing with paid subscriptions and lifetime subscriptions. Cryptic gets a sudden burst of income for development from one player, but can except no more money from that player except for purchases from the C-store.

The thing your missing is, we paid the $300 to make sure you guys still have a game to pay subs for. Lets face it, money talks and we put up and we deserve to have items not available to everyone else. You already got access to the Captain's Table. Isn't that enough?

And what makes you assume that I am not one of those people that paid $250 on the game before it launched since I knew I would enjoy the game and hoped it would still be around in 2 years? Just because I don't use my blue title, doesn't mean I am not a lifer. My main character is a liberated borg captain, but I am willing to see other people have liberated borg captains assuming they have paid their dues. I am in the camp that just like the Captain's Table, liberated borg captains should be a vet reward not a C-store purchase.
i dont care anyway now i willl get my lifetime soon.
i probably have spent that much though on c-store by buying everything available
Just make sure you wait for a sale, but then again who knows when the next sale will be...so its a wash...you might make your money out of it if you just buy it now then wait for a sale...
I was annoyed that captain table was made a non lifer perk, however it was empty...sorta is empty still...BUT we dont have gold spammers in there, I think its a great compromise...no one is happy, thats the point of a real compromise (if both parties are happy then they push for more, if one side is happy and not the other its not a fair compromise) IMO it should be a vet reward but not so soon.
The liberated captain however is not an empty social zone waiting for people...There is no reason what so ever to give it to the masses. I dont care if you have the 1000 vet day reward under your belt. There is nothing wrong with wanting to have something special. You can get it too if you get a LTS.
As it is I see borg all over the place, now grated I did seek out borg fleets, but even in just reg social zones I do see them around and thats the way I like it. I dont want to see ALL borg all the time
btw where is all the "more to come" items/perks they talking about for the lifers?
Thing is, I paid the regular subscription for a little over a year before I went Lifetime.
So, I've paid my dues and extra.
Not that I try to or want to "feel superior" to everyone else, but, still: I made a big commitment to STO... I think it's only fair that I get a reward.
That said, like someone else posted, my real reasoning for getting the Lifetime was NOT the Liberated Borg, but the freedom from the monthly sub... which is kinda funny when you think about all the money I've dropped on C-Store stuff in the months following my signing up for the Lifetime sub.

This. The liberated borg played only a very small part in my decision to get the lifetime subscription. If anyone is considering to stay for at least a couple of years in this game, then why have you not got the lifetime subscription.
When I first started playing, there were people who had liberated borg toons and I said to myself "It's be neat to have that."
So, eventually, when I had some money to play with... I bought a Lifetime Sub and got the Liberated Borg.
And I was happy.
I still am happy.
The Liberated Borg gives those of us who went that extra step something uniquely ours that sets us apart.
That being said, they're not game-breakers.
If they charged 2000 tokens for them, they might make a good amount of cash, but I assure you that 2000 C-Store tokens costs WAY less than the $300 I shelled out.
So if other people started getting the liberated borg captains for the $25 or so that 2000 tokens costs... I would be seriously angry, feel very cheated and would likely never play again, cursing everyone who made me 'waste' so much money.
If they DID decide "Hey, let's put the libbies in the C-Store and just give the Lifers something ELSE..." it would have to be something really, really GOOD to not incur my wrath.
[Edit: Just looked it up. 2000 tokens is $25 USD. That's a HUGE discount over the $300 that I paid.]
25 USD *plus* the subscription non-lifers have paid/is paying each month.
You cannot compare the price of one item, with the price for lifetime access *plus* said item
I dont really care about the Lib Borg one way or the other (Alien BO is better in every single way), but if it was to be added, a veteran reward for subscription time totalling that of a life subscription price. (ie: the 300 USD you talk about) wouldnt be "wrong" or "cheating the lifers" since the players reaching that playtime have paid the same price.
i for a time was for the lib borg being lifers only and in a way i still am but if it was where the 600-700 day reward was the lib captain it wouldnt matter so much to me anymore i got all the borg gear possible in the game and most of the playerbase still cant say that even if they had the lib captain.:p
i envied the lifers for the lib borg for a while, then there was a sale and i bought lifetime, it's worth it for the lack of a sub. but the captains table, badges and borg are sweatners. if the borg endup as a 600 day reward i wouldnt mind (might feel a little left out not getting a vet reward, but hay if'll qunech the flames on this thread it's a small price)

5 of my 9 lvl51 toons - 1 fed + 4 Klinks - have all the Borg Gear, and the rest have 3/4s of it. Oddly enough I don't have but one Lib Borg and I left him at LC a long time ago. Been thinking of Dusting him off though.
If Lib borg go in the C-Store i want a refund for being lifetime, cause that means, the incentive for becoming lifetime would be a combadge and a blue fourm name! :O They already removed the captains table from us, leave lib borg unique, u can get a character just as good useing Joined trill
For those of you that want the liberated borg captain on the C-store, what price would be acceptable? 2000 points was the price Cryptic decided that 5 referrals was worth for the Galaxy X. If I bought 5 games and 5 subscriptions, then it would come out to about $200. $25 for the game and $15 for the one month subscription. That is 10 points per dollar. Therefore, 3000 points is the minimum amount IMO that the liberated borg captain should be worth. Therefore, it should be worth around $40.
Making it a vet reward simplifies the process and it seems that most lifers don't have a problem with the liberated borg being a vet reward.

didnt u read an earlier post...i sugested that they change the incentive...ADD SOMETHING NEW!!!!

and as others have said, the only way that would be ok is if it was better than the lib borg so we'd see this kind of thread asking for the 'something new' it wouldnt solve anything. having it as a vet reward works because they have paid a considerable amount for the game so let them be rewarded by cryptic
