On may 31st at 8 pm central standard time i will be hosting a meeting to form a multi fleet alliance. All fleets who have an interest to join may send 1 ambasador to determine how many fleets are involved. there are several objectives and possibilities in mind.

1- the idea is to create a large set of alliances that will allow for the trading of information, tequniques, and the pooling of recources in order to strengthen all guilds involved and hopefully the entire KDF faction.

2- the possibilitie of polls and other means of determining the wants of the KDF as a whole to facilitate cryptic and possibly an expansion of content is underway as well.

3- a centrailized communication system possibly including voice systems like vent to allow full cross guild coordination in even pugged pvp.

4- the combination of the pooling of major guilds could allow for a more unfied KDF voice(to facilitate cryptic and increase the possibilite of new content) and increased PVP effectiveness of the entire KDF faction.

May 31st 8pm central standard time in the great hall council chamber is where i will be, once all ambasadors have arrived we will comence the meeting at a seperate as yet undecided location.

Would there be any objections to Ambassadors bringing an aide with them? It might help facilitate continued attendance of the meeting should the primary ambassador have to go suddenly. Just in case Captain Real Life and the U.S.S. Reality comes a callin'.

As long as it doesn't collapse into a bunch of bickering about who's gonna be Chancellor like the last time I attended one of these...This'll be the 3rd-4th time I've seen something like this attempted...

I represent ROTF, and as for any leadership squabbles, everything will be put to votes, and each member fleet will be able to run a meeting all taking turns. as for an aid, sounds alright to me, 1 ambassador to talk, 1 aid to take notes and keep records. essentially what i am going for is one large super fleet that is not done through the chaos of merging.

instead of that why not incourage your fellow fleet memebers to use the klingon empire channel to organize and communicate with fellow klingons?

I don't think people are going to want to merge fleets into one massive superfleet.

I really think though that the remaining Klingon fleets need to get together for sure, but the question of leadership and chancellors etc seems counter productive, no fleet leader is going to willingly decide to allow another fleet's leader to tell them what to do.

I personally would love to see the fleets come together and start a massive social campaign to start events on weekends, organized forum posting for both getting new players and challenging starfleet players to be more active in pvp, and using the unified voice of the various fleets to better communicate to cryptic about what we need both short term and long term to populate our faction.

this is actually more what i am going for, only use an independent chat channel, like you said coordinating pvp efforts/ unifying our voice and as i said earlier pooling resources. i am looking for more of an alliance of fleets, i absolutely do not want a merger, just for the fleets to work together and coordinate. this will be a relatively informal thing consisting of several goals and programs.

Once monthly meetings of ambassadors to tell the results of their independent fleet polls so we know what to tell cryptic.

during the monthly meetings scheduling of joint fleet actions and pvp events i am thinking our first event should be CE, start out with a bang.

as for the organization, each fleet will have a representative who will vote for their fleet, the only leadership will really be the person who conducts the meeting, and his job is just to maintain order and each fleet rep will take turns.

So it'll be a council with a 'round table' sort of leadership. As in no one individual is in charge all decisions are done by votes and there will only be a 'leader' in the case of the individual in charge of the Minutes of that specific meeting. I kinda like this, it makes it an equal thing for fleets of all sizes, and keeps any one group from gaining too much control.

I would like to see this happen. I have not been able to speak to the admiralty of the fleet I am currently a member of...but I think they would like to see something like this happen as well......
Allow me to bring this to their attention, and see if this is something they would like to do.

random things including event scheduling, mostly event scheduling including pvp tournaments, days where we will storm the Qs, fleet actions, and STF days where multiple guilds participate. if the votes for events do not pass then the individual guild can still do the events, and maybe with several other guilds, just not all members are to participate. also polls for our coordinated forum posts to influence cryptic and present a clearer picture of what the KDF wants.

The coordinated voice for the forums I think is the best and most important thing I can see coming from this. We need to put on a solid front to show Cryptic that we are not simply a small population, but a strong foundation for them to build upon.

The problem is that this type of reverse-fleet mechanism does just the opposite. Any communication will be coming from only one party. Since Cryptic has no method of knowing how many are represented, they treat it as one voice. Much better to have many different fleets and even individuals letting their wishes known than one who purports to speak for the many.

Also, the point of fleets is to create smaller communities out of a larger impersonal faction. All any successful attempt would really have accomplished is making the said fleets that belong irrelevant and nothing more that fleet banks. Doubt that, ask yourself other than that if the KDF were to operate as one big super-fleet what would be the point of even being in a fleet.

I admire your enthusiams, but this might be the perfect time, to point out that this has been tried at least 2 times before that I know of, and both times it's ended miserably for all parties involved.

Understand me correctly: I am not trying to ruin your attempt, I just want to be sure you're prepared for what you're facing.

From what I could tell the other times, the general concept is that in the beginning all goes smoothly, but over time someone makes the mistake of speaking about a fleet merge with other fleets, or common rules... eventually resulting in mass chaos and the fleets involved breaking apart.

I wasn't involved in the process, but I observed it from the distance, and it wasn't pretty.

I hope you guys get this going, I really do, but be aware of theese issues, and make sure that theese issues are off the table and cleared before you go into other topics... "Are we working towards a total fleet", "Are we going to have a common rulebook"... Stuff like that.

    Make sure everyone understands it.

It's just a word of advice... Use it or don't...

    Good luck.

I think the fact there is a discussion here at least shows an interest in doing something between the fleets to help our faction out, the question is what can we do?

I think before we start talking about a unified forum posting front, that will likely be a negative move..

It might be smart to get people into an event, something all klingons regardless of rank can participate in, and then notify the various podcasts about it.

The problem is we don't have large social spaces so we need something like a tournament, or a house war.

What if you guys tied in a meeting of the fleets with a house war?

it might be a bit RP, but each fleet can field a team for pvp matches and do battle.

I have a foundry mission ready to go right now unpublished, it's a fake tournament hall, if you guys get this going and can make some teams, I will provide a foundry mission that Klingons can go to that will show the team captains standing around, explain the tournaments rules and where to sign up, and where there is a winner, a throne the winner can sit on for bragging rights.

Thats about all I can offer, as I have a lot on my scehdule, but if you get something going I'll support anything the Klingons can come up with to keep our faction healthy.

    Just PM me here :)

i was involved with one of the fleets that attempted this, sons of kayless, we were allying with another fleet(been a long time) eventually what seemed to happen, at least on my part is that the fleets tried to control each other, that is exactly what i hope to avoid. as for unified forum postings, what i mean is coordinated forum postings from members of all guilds involved making sure the members know when a possibly important thread is up and let them know to post, such as BOP captains getting on a thread about a new abilities, or carriers getting more fighters and such.

The Klingon Defense Fleet and its smaller crafting division KDF Trade Coalition may be interested in attending if there is an ambassador which can make the date and time of the meeting.

If we make a forum for this event, (just for voting in the aliance) we could set up poles - a lot easier and more reliable than just counting them over chat channels. I am willing to help however I can to ensure this operation's success.

Also, we could benefit by making it less of an alliance and more of a governing body - we would vote on times, ect. But it would be fun if we could work together and not be fully commited to eachother.

The -KDFDC- will be there and I look forward to the greatest success. Again a great way to deter control related conflicts.

As for all you negative "this wont work" people - just think of Undiscovered Country (#6), dont be afraid of the future. This could help us all. :)

I think it's a good idea, I also think in the event season 4 for klingons is vaporware again, then klingon fleets should encourage thier members to boycott fed vs kling pvp qeues.

it seems like the only aspect of gameplay we have any influence over.

No trouble, The alliance will allow new fleets to enter at any time, of course we will have to vote on a process/ functions but that will be discussed on the 31st.

I think losing any fleet from this due to timezone is going to hurt the whole deal.

I implore any klingon player to join the Klingon Empire chat channel and use it, there just isn't enough of us left to be effective if we aren't united in our voice.
