I think any pack in the Movie Era would need to include an Exclesior bridge. It could use the same interior as the Enterprise, but the bridge needs to be based on the Excelsior. Be it the NX 2000, NCC 2000 or the Enterprise B. Don't really care which, I like them all.

And it would be nice if they could fix the Maroons for proper ranks while they were at it.

Maybe a scalable ST VI hand phaser?

    :)

That would be cool. But as mentioned above would also need Excelsior/Ent-A bridge and Enterprise Engeineering (to recreate Spock's death scene LOL). .

I don't know, while the standard uniforms (which we already have, for free) are simply the best trek uniforms ever, in my opinion, the rest of the costumes in the movie were pretty ugly to me. Everything just screams late 70s/early 80s too much.

I'd like the TWoK rank pins fixed as well, but as part of the existing TWoK uniform package, not included in a new bundle.

The DY-100 (Botany Bay) is too large to be used as a shuttle. (It's roughly the size of a Constitution class secondary hull.) I have difficulty seeing it as a player-operated vessel. (It's also even older than the NX-era ships, and the design aesthetic is more TOS than Movie.) Make it a Foundry art asset if it's done at all.

Real and Star Trek can't be used in the same sentence if you want to be taken seriously. :D

Whether its WoK or TNG or whatever, its all good. And all equally unreal.

I wouldn't mind seeing DS9 get the same internal revamp that ESD got. I'd rahter that came before any more bundles.

    Except:

    1. Star Trek is NOT real. It's make-believe.

    and

    2. Star Trek IS all the stuff you keep saying has no place in the game. I'm glad you love the 25th Century, but if I was the Marketing Department at Cryptic and I heard they were going to stop making the stuff fans associate with and will pay money for, I'd be screaming bloody murder with my eyes bulging out of my head.

This is the reality of STO. For STO to stay alive, it has to make money. With a fan base as rabid as the Star Trek IP has, you can't give generic stuff no one has ever seen before, and sell it as Star Trek. It just doesn't work.

You have to sell the IP on stuff that fans care about. Otherwise, why buy it?

Why should I care about a bunch of stuff Cryptic made up as filler? I barely had any interest in TNG, and had virtually no interest in DS9. I thought Nemesis was a weak movie. That alone means I'm not very likely to buy anything associated with those eras. And so, I'm certainly not inclined to buy anything with an era that I have no vested interest in.

real is something that is tangiable something that you see reality is not merely a preception of the world but things in a established setting if you forget that then your not really being true to the make belive reality you are expericing

it's kinda like making a world war 2 game and populating it with roman soldiers ... they have no place in the setting one should focus on the proper time line setting before adding "fluff"

You would consider pixels on a screen, that equate to 1s and 0s in a database on a server, as being real?

What you are talking about is immersion, not reality.

But your initial argument was that the 25th Century stuff is real, which it is not. nothing in the game is real. It's all make-believe based on writings and what is televised in association with the IP.

And the 25th Century stuff is even less "real" because Cryptic made it all up. It's not even established in canon as part of the Star Trek universe.

But you are still missing the larger issue. That issue is the financial drive behind this game.

    To quote "The Right Stuff":

    "No bucks. No Buck Rodgers."

Same thing goes with STO. And Cryptic is aware of what drives the STO machine. The fuel for this game, is the fervent fandom associated with the IP and what has already been established in the Star Trek universe. I've said it before, and I'll say it again. If STO were PURELY based on the 25th Century, and had nothing in it from the previous incarnations, this game would be deader than a doorknob.

At that point, STO would be nothing more than generic space MMO #2, with Star Trek in name only on the cover of the game box.

I'm sorry to say, but i vote no.
Enough of Kirk and the 23th cenutry, i want to see some new 24th or 25th century stuff. :)
And yes, Star Trek consists of much more than Kirk & Co.
Maybe in a half year i will be happy to see a TOS movies Pack, but for now, i think it will be too much TOS stuff for my taste.

    Live long and prosper.

I'm for the TWoK pack /signed and hope it'll come with TWoK Reliant Phaser-beams ^_^

I am all for the most famous and imho the best era twok pack! We have quite a few ships already in game, so really need proper monster maroons, hand phasers, bridges and interiors. Those interiors would work with the Constitution refit, Excelsior and refit, the Miranda, and the up coming Oberth. So many birds could be killed! I will be happy to purchase this pack!

Honestly, to me, it makes sense for them to continue along the timeline rather than jump around everywhere. We've had an Enteprise pack, we've had a Star Trek pack, now we're likely to get a movie era pack (ideally spanning I - VI). Then a Next Generation pack, and so on. I believe this is the general idea Cryptic has, and there's certainly plenty of things from the movies they could build up for a decent pack.

Most importantly of all, I want to see the monster maroon belt redone.... While it wasn't fantastic in its original form I honestly think it looked better than the current one (the buckle of which seems kind of small and awfully thin and flimsy looking). Of course, an overall update to the uniform itself (including rank options) would be nice, too.

WoK is one of my most favorite movies of all time....but I want this game to actually start to feel like the advirtised 25th Century/Brand New Era.

I would absolutely love a WoK/movies pack. WoK really oozed atmosphere.

    Key Features:
    • Toggle Red Alert and battle effects
    • Enterprise Bridge
    • Relient Bridge
    • Excelsior Bridge
    • Ship approach cutscene (in the little transport shuttle)
    • Torpedo room
    • Multiple level engineering
    • Shuttlebay

What about the Miranda and the Constitution Refit that come already with the game ?

I'm not against a WOK Pack, but i don't think that it is a good idea to bring another "Kirk Memorial pack" out so soon after the TOS pack was released. Don't you think that this is a bit unfair regarding fans of the other Star Trek eras?

What about a next generation pack, like Picards readyroom, TNG styled interiors, TNG Phaser Rifles, some uniforms like the "Yesterdays Enterprise" uniform and so on?

    What about having DS9 revamped?

If someone feels offended because he/her/it is somehow akin to Kirk, TOS, or the Movies please have my serious apologies if that's not enough, contact me.:)

As much as I am a big fan of TWOK - the interiors, the uniforms, so on - I am inclined to agree with the calls for more stuff set in the 25th century. I must also add this plea - for the love of Kahless, give more Klingon content. There's plenty that can be added, and people have been clamoring for it for months. Yes, we know, it's a Federation-oriented game, but the KDF could use a bit more love too, y'know. One release for every five the Feds get is simply not cutting it.

Fun idea. As the tech becomes possible I'd add the Security Armor, Helmet and Phaser Holster to that list. Would look great for shipboard or Away Missions.

    What about 24th century stuff?
Will we ever get decent interiors that resemble a Galaxy or Interpid class?
