Really? No reason to play? I do not do STFs and I still spend a couple of hours each night playing STO. I thought folks that love content like STFs did so for the challenge and teamwork focused content and not the loot. Why would the rewards being available through some other method have anything to do with your STFs?
I think that person meant no reason to do STFs. While the experience is all and good, there still needs to be some dangling carrot to keep up playing that dungeon/raid/STF/etc time after time after time. The Borg ship parts and BO belong in that category.
I'd like to see this. They should bundle in the Borg ship parts as well. I'd much rather not have to suffer through hours of unfun and tedious content.
This is what I was referring to. "my stf's" are what some people look forward to doing, and do you think it would be fair that you just pay the c-store for the loot, which apparently you want as well, while others do the challenge to earn the rewards.
That's your choice to not do the stf's, but to acquire the same rewards as those who earned it is ridiculous.
" I thought folks that love content like STFs did so for the challenge and teamwork focused content and not the loot."
Yes we enjoy the content and the teamwork be it pug or otherwise, and yes even the rewards from stf's are content, special star trek content, for completing the mission. You like your starship, right? You worked to gain levels to be able to receive whatever ship you wanted, right? Special star trek loot.
I do apologize if you don't understand, maybe if you tried the stf's and then after all was said and done received your reward you might understand why I feel that stuff like this shouldn't be handed out.
In my opinion someone who takes on the challenges don't say things like I quoted from you.
If You have tried them and still don't like them then I am sorry, not all of my experiences in any stf type enviroment has been easy, to me hard is what brings the team together, sharing the hardship is how you develop as a team and then succeed.

Yes, I've tried them and found them to be tedious and not very compelling. I am hoping to change my opinion once Cryptic gets around to rolling out whatever fixes they deem necessary but for now, they remind of those nights I spent pointlessly trudging through Molten Core.
No thanks.
Just for the record, I am not at all against group content. STO needs some good group content that brings the community together. I just think that STFs are currently very poorly implemented and don't add much value to STO for anyone other than the hardcore folks that for some reason like this kind of punishment. It really seems like a lot of folks feel as though these things are meant to be suffered through once for the reward and to me, that's not good design.
