Borg Bundle

Any hope you'll bundle the two separate borg officers into a single borg pack for lets say 400 AP?

I was actually referring to the two c-store bridge officers.

    Never.....Ever.

If you want the second Borg BO then do Kithomer Accords.

Why should cryptic do that? The Borg Engineering officer was an Amazon special, which is now available in the c-store as well.

The Borg Science officer is a special reward during the mission "Khitomer Accord".
All you have to do is find a good team, spent 2-3 hours for the mission and step with your character in one of the two assimiltion chambers during the mission. Than you will get an accolade named "Assimilated". Fly to the U.S.S. Victory, contact Four of Ten and there is your Borg Science officer. - And therefore you want to pay money?

At first, I thought you were asking for both Amazon Borg Boffs (Fed & Klingon) as part of a package. Then I realized that you meant the KA reward.

I say, no. It shouldn't happen. Too many people want their instant gratification and are willing to toss out real world money for pixels that they can earn in-game. This is the kind of mentality that lets marketing run roughshod through the C-Store and put up everything but the kitchen sink up for sale.

Is there anyway to modify the look of the khitomer borg officer prize? I'd like to 'deborgify' the bo a little and put my crew uniform on it, doesnt give that option though

no, its like the breen reman and holo officer, its just what you see is what you get, kind of makes it look like its not YOUR officer, just a drone (or any of the others) sabutaging your ship in a very non stealthy way

I'd like to see this. They should bundle in the Borg ship parts as well. I'd much rather not have to suffer through hours of unfun and tedious content.

Well the four Borg parts are cryptics way to push the STF missions. Before that only a few members of my fleet were willing to spent 2-3 hours for such a mission. The reward was not worth the time. Now EACH member will get a Borg part as reward. The unfair random very rare method is over.

So it is up to you to decide.
If you want the Borg parts: find a fleet, or a good random team, spent 2-3 hours/item and you will get it.

I would never want to see this happen. Especially since i really enjoy the STF's. Find a good Fleet and perhaps your perception will change towards this content, since if it is 'pugging' that has caused your dislike for these, well Wow taught me about 'pugging' and the pain that generally goes with it a long long time ago.
I have all the ship parts and the Science Borg BO, and so does much of the Fleet i'm in, yet we continue to run these for the new members as often as we can. I look forward to those weekends and nights of STF raiding. Bring on 'The Hive'. And with the improvements to ground coming in due time, STF's can only get better.
In-game obtainable items should remain just that.

If STFs only took an hour and were better designed, I'd be more interested. However, they are far too tedious and time consuming in their current form. Having to schedule my life around a video game is one of the reasons I stopped playing WoW especially with the release of their last expansion pack. If STFs were redesigned for the 1hour timeblock or so, I'd have no issue with the content.

I can understand what you are saying. I too left Wow just months before Cata hit, though i did see enough on the Beta to know that the same formula would be present, and i just can't go back to those 5/6 a week raid schedules now i am at University. STO fits perfectly into my life right now, and while friends and other students seem to go out every other night of the week, i can afford to clock up a full night on the weekend just for STF's after all my work is done. But thats just me, everyones life is very different.
You are right to never schedule your life around a game, though i think you will be hard pressed to find an MMO that has end game content based around the time frame of an hour. Of course, some people will say they can do STF's in this time frame, but it still took time before to learn, prepare and run them so swiftly now.

The STF's are being redone anyways to be less annoying. But No. I'm 100% against the idea of adding the KA Boff or even the Borg ship parts into the c-store.

There has got to be things that are up there that you gotta work for.

BTW just get a team together that has a same time schedule as you Vincire. You don't have to do the STF's in one sitting. Just get to major respawn points, take a break then come back :)

You're absolutely right. I probably won't find another MMO who's endgame doesn't invariably becomes a part-time job. This is one reason I am hoping that a Developer someday, realizes this and designs a series of short but challenging encounters. In other words, what is the difference between three 1 hour STFs and one 3 Hour? Shorter segments is best in my opinion.

Mabye, a few people disagree but I think a borg bundle pack should have more borg implants for your captain, crew, ship and ship interior. I dont disagree with you but I think the borg BO are not required

Whoa whoa, do the missions to get the rewards???

I'm not being mean, but I agree with him. Its a game, everything shouldn't be handed to you on a golden platter.
In my opinion, people with a sense of entitlement like that should play Halo and stuff like that.

STFs are special case. They're not nearly as accessible (or as fun as some would argue) as the rest of the game. I realize that Cryptic is going to be working on these things to make them more fun (something I am hoping for, trust me). I think requests like the OPs stem from the reluctance to slog through content viewed as painful or a chore once for the reward and not from any sense of "entitlement".

You mean that we have to actually work for something? I am shocked!

    /sarcasm

I agree with the above statement. Some things should be left out of the C-Store. And the Borg KA BOff and ship parts should be some of them. And I don't have any of these things, so don't you dare call me "elitist".

    1) I disagree, I think they are not a special case given the nature of the reward.

    2) So, they want the reward, but don't want to do what is required to get that reward. IMO, thats entitlement.

You don't have to have to have that boff to play the game, it is a reward for doing something hard and that is the way, imo, it should stay.

    Long and tedious != challenging.

Like most, I already having something that feels like work; my job. Once a video game starts feeling like that, I stop playing. STFs (and most other Raid-esque activities) feel that way very quickly. I wish Cryptic would get on the ball quite trying to emulate a stale end-game model. It's time for a change.

I don't think a game where you get things on a golden platter will very quickly die.

I don't disagree that the STF's need improving, but there needs to be something that isn't soloable and super easy.

I don't want STFs to be soloable and super easy either. Accessible, Yes. Encourage Pugs and meeting new players, absolutely. Shorter in duration, yes please! I think we'd see a lot more interest if these things were done.

Personally, I think they should stay that long.

I'm not really big on there decision to dumb it down.

I was actually referring to the two c-store borg bridge officers, not the KA borg. I agree, that should be earned, and not given away on a golden platter. Player entitlement is a big issue for some. We can't all just stand around for hours waving our arms hoping purples fall in our lap, can we....

i do not agree that any mission rewards should be c-store, the blue phasers are a special case though

but lets be honist cryptic is not very good at HARD levels, they seem to think that hard only means mega enemy spam or things that don't die, and thats why i dont do STFs, i dont want to do a mission that prty much requires me to die half a dozen times it just spoils the emersion for me, i think 1 death is the mission over, start again.

the aegis set is enough for me, if it's not good enough for you run the STFs.

i'll pass, atleast untill the combat revamp

Then there would be no reason to play, Borg set is reward loot for accomplishing those missions, they are hard for a reason, if these things were to made availible via C-store then why would you even play?

Really? No reason to play? I do not do STFs and I still spend a couple of hours each night playing STO. I thought folks that love content like STFs did so for the challenge and teamwork focused content and not the loot. Why would the rewards being available through some other method have anything to do with your STFs?
