The Pike epsiodes weren't the first TOS stuff I had seen but there is the later episode where they return him to the plenet because they can give him a better life. I actually think I saw that one first and then made a point of checking out the pilot. If I'm not mistaken, there is a reference in one of the TNG era series to a Christopher Pike medal or was that in one of the TOS movies? You all know your Sci-Fi much better than I do!
I've never seen the original pilot outside the two-part episode it wa made into, but I've read a book or two with Pike in the hot seat. Was funny to run trough my mind, "Wait, he's Christopher Pike?" then to only laugh at myself when I was told I just met Kirk.
I believe I found it through a torrent but wouldn't be surprised if you could find it on YouTube. It's in black and white and there was some comentary from Gene to kick it off and in closing. I'm honestly tempted to try and dig it up again because it has been quite some time since I've seen it.
Si--[One More Cup Of Coffee, Bob Dylan ] to the jeffries tube below..
the re-worked it a tweak after the lead man gained a major movie role and could not follow it up.. Jeffery hunter - the actor in the remake in the dalek like chair.. was interviewed last year at vegas and was a nice fellow. no speaking roles tough.
It's definitely worth watching, Z! With your love of Trek greatly over shadowing mine. I'm a bit surrpised you haven't seen it. Maybe I can find that special on DVD or something.
Happy Sunday, everyone! I hope the long weekend is treating everyone well.

You all would of had a good laugh when an SUV passed me while crossing the bridge just outside of where I live, throwing a wave of water at me with no where for me to go.

That happened to me once while sitting at a light on my FZR600. Saw it coming in my left hand mirror. It was a literal tsunami of brown gutter water kicked up by a wannabe monster truck of a phallic compensator. I could not go forward as there was a car in the way, going backwards would not help and running away to leave my bike to fall over was outta the question. I was not happy.
If you are a pickle in a pickle jar you know every pickle's different, sort of, but really they're all just pickles...
At least oday it should all be ice. We've had some wacky weather lately. Mid 40's with rain one day, then mid 20's the next couple of days. My jacket is waterproof and I did have my hood up but the rest of me was soaked and I hate having wet feet. Add an extra 2 hours to my day that wasn't supposed to happen... I was glad to get home. My feet were still wet just after 3PM when I got in. That's got to be much worse on a bike and not good for it either.
I did not take the temperature in to account. Your situation was worse than mine. That was back in 1998 and at the time it was like 86 degrees F. It was one of those flash monsoons Phoenix is famous for. Weather warps in for god knows where. Dumps enough rain in fifteen minutes to flood the side walk and vanishes like a ninja. I was in the lane closes to the sidewalk and that truck was in the lane to my left and still was making a tsunami.
Actually as long as water does not go up the exhaust or get into the electronics the bike really could care less. Just meant I had to work extra hard to clean it. LOL

Dampness doesn't actually bother me. I think the temp was around 40F when I left. With all of the time I've spent in England, the dampness here is nothing even close and I didn't mind it over there either. Humidity on the other hand I definitely don't like.
True enough! I guess I'm just used to people saying damp when it's cold and humid when it's hot. I don't like hot and damp but cold and damp is fine with me.
Rush hour traffic! Anyone want to trade? I've moved about a small city block in the past 10 minutes and I could have walked it in less than 5.

I'd say that is the type of comment I'd expect from a wannabe moderator! :P
Kirk actually. Took me a while to get what my dad was getting at when he said original Enterprise captain. I thought he was refering to Pike

I like the very retro look with Marjel as the First officer and Spock as the young science officer.
