Too much sunshine, never enough ice cream, and my internet is still basically useless! Another useless idiot is supposed to come out tomorrow to tell me how he can't figure out what the problem is.
Happy Friday, everyone! Have a phenomenal weekend and stay cool with plenty of cookies and milk. If you only want the milk, I will take those cookies off of your hands lickidy split!

Ugh! I would like to know how some people get jobs! Especially in the internet repair field! They show up, look at everything, say everything looks fine, run some tests, see there is a problem, but their readings say everything should be fine. So... Everything is fine then and they leave. Less than 1Mbit up is fine for a 15Mbit up service!?! And there is nothing wrong with the down either. "It's supposed to fluctuate 50Mbit to 80Mbit." At least the idiot here today seemed to decide it is definitely an outside issue with his supervisor on the phone. When they will get around to having a look into where that could be outside, beats me.
Aw happy moving day.. now JC must be caught by the ISP not being able to meet peek demands on uploads?
raven has the ohio river and sky [glow] zone .. we have goats that crawl under electric fence to raid neiboughs oats ;3
I like collecting coins and money but Canada jumps on just about anything they think they can sell and then charges 6 times the actual value for it. I really wanted to pick up a 25th anniversary Canadian Space Agency coin but $120 for a $20 coin is a bit ridiculous.
It's not a demand issue per say. The actual issue, at least from what I have been told, "off the record", by a senior tech, is that the area is over-provisioned or too many customers crammed on to nodes that aren't designed to handle the capacity they are currently connected to. This causes things to cause problems more often than not. So far, the earliest ETA for my internet being fixed is the 28th of July. )=
those bottle necks end when some Parliamentary figure has a angry teen show it to them.. or bribes or well ok endorsement deals and campaign donations to the otherside

If it were only that simple! Right now, I am able to pull about half a megabit up, which at least makes it barely work. I don't know how long that will last. I managed to get connected to Steam yesterday for a few minutes before it crapped out again.
That is truly painful.. our WIFI to a DSL rural is ok for not uploading and it lags in fps too much but meh its great for turn based
savign up
I usually do a lot of uploading. Because Z does as well, I know she appreciates how important a good upstream really is when having internet. For games, hosting puts a lot more emphasis on your upload speeds, especially with 16 player matches. My ping times are also higher than normal along with just about everything else being wrong with it too. For gaming, my internet is basically useless! STO lags out so easily. Forza Horizon 3 is just as bad. Even trying to stay connected to Steam seems to be almost impossible for more than 5 minutes. It's pretty bad when I can do a speed test on both of my cell phones and they both come back with a better upsteam than my home internet service right now.
the sub station connection must be too far away..Thats so not fiber optical strong
It's a block and a half one way and a block the other way. The two buildings here though have 14 apartments per floor and 12 floors each. There are also a lot of larger buildings on both sides. The cable and phone companies here don't offer fiber in this neighborhood. The phone company though is doing fiber installs on the street across from the building but there is no ETA for it being done for the buildings as it's an MDU team that does apartment buildings where SDU teams do houses.
I'm sure that adds to the increased traffic and yeah, cable is more of a shared platform but that honestly is more of a crock for marketing. Once your connection hits the street, your neighbors can potentially impact your speeds. When it works properly though, I don't see any noticeable impact in my speeds.
Happy Monday, everyone! Did you all have a fantastic weekend?

Happy Tuesday, everyone! Star Trek Timelines is now available for Windows through Steam. It's still essentially a mobile game that is a lot of fun. It does a offer a lot of premium packs to try and get your money. The real draw to the game is the ability to fly many different types of ships, old and new, and assemble your crew from the vast selection of characters through the history of the Star Trek universe. Crew do need to be leveled through obtaining items by completing missions, special events, and crafting. http://store.steampowered.com/app/600750/

I don't mean to poke, but like said before, welcome to rural internet after a strong storm rolls through the area. :P
