Retrofit Starship Token:
Lets you completely customize any shipclass in the game, using the following steps (which would be offered by an NPC on Qo'Nos or ESD in the shipyard sections):
1) Select the basic ship class (e.g. Science vessel, Heavy Escort, Heavy Cruiser, Long Range Science Vessel, etc. etc.) - at any later date you can use the ship customization npc at the shipyard to alter the appearance of the ship using any model variants that are available to that specific ship class
2) Select the ship's console slots. Using a simple UI interface, you're given 8 points to split between console slots in any way you see fit, with a maximum of 4 points in any specific console type. For example, you can put 4 points in tactical, 1 in science, and 3 in engineer - this gives your ship 4 tactical console slots, 1 science console slot, and 3 engineer console slots. Most standard t5 ships (non retrofits) have 9 consoles, the retrofits and cstore ships have 8 consoles, so this keeps with that.
3) Select the ship's bridge officer slots. In much the same way as the console selection above, you can alter the bridge officers available on your ship. You're given 12 points total, and can add a maximum of 5 bridge officer slots. The amount of points taken by a bridge officer slot depends on the rank:
Commander Slot: 4 points
Lieutenant Commander Slot: 3 points
Lieutenant Slot: 2 points
Ensign Slot: 1 point
This allows you to fully customize the bridge officers available on your ship, to match your playstyle or preferred boff skill setup.
4) Select the ship's weapon slots. This system is based on the basic ship hull that you chose in step 1, if you chose a cruiser your ship gets 4 forward/4 rear slots by default (no customization available). If you chose a science ship, you get 6 weapon slots, which you can allocate between forward and rear hardpoints (up to 4 maximum on either side) - so you could have a science ship with 2 forward weapons and 4 rear weapons, if you wanted. If you chose an escort, you get 7 weapon slots, which again can be customized however you wish (max of 4 for front or back).
The ship's hull strength and manuverability is determined by the game based on the type, meaning all custom cruisers will have the same hull strength/turn rate/inertia/etc., all science ships will have sensor analysis and subsystem targetting as default as well.
This system would allow people to retrofit any ship model they want to a T5 ship.
I would really like the sleeveless Mirror Universe Captain's Tunic (the uniform I thought I was getting with my Champions Lifetime Membership).
I also like the idea of holsters or weapons being visible when not drawn. Dual pistols would be especially bad@$$. Even if they were just "stuck" on the side of the belt (which is how the TOS Type-2 phasers looked), to the upper thigh, or slung across the back (for rifles, larger melee weapons) it would be pretty nice (there could be an option to turn it off like armor and kit graphics).
I do not believe that this is true, especially given that some characters are allowed to walk around in bikinis.
I'm afraid that I'm going to need a link to Cryptic's statement regarding the open jacket and the ESRB.
There might be a simple yet pretty lame reason why Orion Bikinis are just fine - Orions are not humans. You can clearly see they are not, because humans don't have green skin. So they can look almost however you want, they aren't depicting real people, and so the rating stipulations don't apply.
In Germany, the early Command & Conquer games were "censored" by making all the soldiers androids/bots. They removed some blood, and changed the tank-crushing-soldier squishy sound to a tank-crushing-cans metallic sound. And it was all fine. No matter that those robots were still intelligent enough to defect to the enemy (one of the early Nod missions was about finding a defecting leader and killing him.)
At least that's one theory I've heard. Rating and rating systems are stupid. If androids human-like enough to lead troops and make the decision to defect to the enemy are okay to kill but humans not, then green-skinned aliens might be okay to run around almost naked. (Keep in mind that this might not apply to actual actresses covered in green color - after all, those aren't computer models, but real people.)
I still see no issue with the Lursa and B'Tor outfits - they seem no worse than the open jackets.
I personally demand the ability to just RE-SELECT my toon's CAREER! I mean, how many people go with tactical just because it sounds the coolest and then later want to be an ENG or SCI officer?!
The top ten things I'd buy from the C-Store, if they were for sale. In no particular order:
1) A complete Race, Sex, Trait and Skill Respec.
Something that's been asked for almost since launch. Even more desirable with the addition of new races and the increased understanding of racial traits and how they work.
2) Rocket Boots.
For exploring some of those epic Genesis maps. Spock used them in Star Trek V, why can't we?
3) Non-Borg robot/cyborg arms/legs/other parts.
Because not every cyborg has to have been one of the Borg. Bionic sound effects optional.
4) Hats, Helmets and Glasses.
We can create FTL starships, but we've somehow forgotten how to make ball caps?
I personally demand the ability to just RE-SELECT my toon's CAREER! I mean, how many people go with tactical just because it sounds the coolest and then later want to be an ENG or SCI officer?!
Lol. I find this funny. my first toon was a tac. Killed it at LT8. Made a Eng. Its now my main.
I had mine up with the KDF costumes, but here a more exhaustive list of stuff I want
KDF Ship Costume Options
KDF Female Uniforms (Lursa and B'Tor costume)
These two I should not be c-store items until KDF has as many free customization options for ships and characters as the Federation does. Making us pay extra for these, especially the ship costumes, just to be able to have more than the 1 default costume is nothing but a big FU to the KDF fans. Imagine the outcry from Fed fans if the only ship customization they got for most of their ships was nothing more than changing the paint color, with only 1 or 2 ships having a 2nd free skin and several of the others not even being allowed to change the color of the paint.
Number 1 and 6 from your lists are musts, i wouldn't mind paying a little more then we pay for some of the better goodies for these two options. We'd only realistically need number 1 one time assuming we didn't like our main character race selection, number 6 would be awesome if we could create our own boffs of various quality green/blue/purple.
and i've only just started playing klingon but they seriously need some more improved ship options......and the brel refit doesn't count that thing is a death trap......least they could make it so only your OWN heals wtf pwn you if you try to heal cloaked. friends assisting you without your consent can get you blown to smithers for no good reason, seriously TRIBBLE that
Androids I can see, but El-Aurians? Not so much. The only things that really distinguish them from humans are their much longer lifespans and their ability to sense differences in time (or perhaps that was just Guinan...eh, details).
I'm thinking more about skills than appearance. Like a Baku (sp?) that can slow down time, the effect being that an enemy is slowed down in the extreme; an El-Aurian that can sense changes in time that would allow him to resist holds and roots by at least 70% (if not more), and an andriod with super strength and extreme efficiency. A changling would have a single (or two) limited morphs available during combat only...maybe a huge targ or selhat for battle. That kind of thing.
The most likely one is the andriod...but we may never see any of these.
That being the case I guess that I'm going to have to come up with something to replace number 5.
which is think is one of the biggest cases of rubbish, I mean Orions, +all the other mmos with the same ratings who tend to show a whole lot more most of the time...

Yeah, sure. But I'd rather have something I'd have to pay for now then get it in 2 years maybe for free.
Yes, I know, I am part of the problem for the C-Store hater. I can live with that.
That being the case I guess that I'm going to have to come up with something to replace number 5.
In all fairness, I think the Orion Slave Girl outfit no more "enhances cleavage" than the open jacket. It's just it exposes WAY more skin.
My vote is for a sunbathing outfit for Risa. Or even such with a jacket over it. (Although I suspect the latter would make the ESRB protest)
I also put in my vote for Janeway's "sweaty t-shirt" look that DStahl posted. I find that way sexier without exposing any skin at all, thank you...
Also, on the point about melee weapons, I was kind of hoping for a little larger selection, although the new sword turned out pretty nice for my knife wielder. But that's really what I want, a knife or dagger.
I'm thinking that the best replacement for number 5 is an emote pack.
Like a salute and stand at attention emote that are actually done right. A couple of talking emote like they have in Champions Online.
Another thing that they have in Champions Online that I'd like to see in STO is a mood selector. You can pick the mood and this actually changes your character's facial expression. Who wouldn't be willing to pay for that?
Androids I can see, but El-Aurians? Not so much. The only things that really distinguish them from humans are their much longer lifespans and their ability to sense differences in time (or perhaps that was just Guinan...eh, details).
Actually El-Aurians are good listeners therefore might be slightly empathic and/or spiritual therefore they would be between a betazoid and a bajoran.
Here my some-what serious list of stuff I would buy:
1) Ressican flute..(The Inner Light flute that Picard played.) It could have a heal bonus as it relaxes you..
2) TOS, Next Generation, Voyager Bridge packs.
3) Holo-Graphic Science Officers
4) Orion Officers? Are they there already?
5) Android Officer.
6) Soyuz Class Ship (A.K.A. USS Bozeman)
9) Constellation Class (A.K.A. USS Stargazer)
10) Denobulan Officers? Are they there already?
Meh that's my take..I'm pretty easy... (That's what she said!)
On the Klingon side, and as a reward for gaining a particular Ambassador rank Fed side. In fact, I plan to recreate my Orion KDF Captain as a crewmember for my Fed Captain that is going through the Ambassador ranks.
Actually El-Aurians are good listeners therefore might be slightly empathic and/or spiritual therefore they would be between a betazoid and a bajoran.
Honestly, wouldn't mind El-Aurians being playable myself (I have a roleplaying character who's El-Aurian, I want to eventually bring him into STO, heh) but I don't see it happening.
If the ESRB won't allow the costumes as they appear on screen, then how about this...
There is already a Klingon female costume that is very low cut, but the cleavage doesn't show. Why not make the costumes as close to the show as you can, but make the cleavage area similar to the existing open costumes?
True it isn't as "visually entertaining" as the original, but it would be a good compromise in my opinion.
If the costume was created, I would prefer that it be released for free. However, if they had to go the C-store route I would pay for it.
I would also like to see a costume pack with the TNG/DS9 civilian clothes, for example....
Some of the dresses that Lwaxana Troi wore (they were great)
Guinan's outfits (IT'S ALL ABOUT THE HATS!!!)
DS9 Civilian clothing from almost any scene on The Promenade
(some of the best costume designs ever made for a ST series, and it's mostly in the background)
How about better skin textures for the rest of the body. I can make my characters have very visually striking skin textures on their head, but nothing for the rest of the body but a single color chart? Oh, and tattoo/scars on the rest of the body would be nice too.
Again, this should be free, but if it is the only way to get it, I'd pay cash.
1. This: http://forums.startrekonline.com/showpost.php?p=3435831&postcount=8
2. More scalable ground weapons
3. More Emote packs
4. Personal Bank Spaces
5. More clothing options like Hats, Glasses, Belts, Watch's, Headphones, Ect
6. MORE SHIPS FOR BOTH FACTIONS
7. Pre-Order Bonus's.
8. Season 3 testing tribble weekend pets + Del-Taco Shuttle
9. "1 hour epic loot bonus" [Gives better drops for 1 hour on any setting]
10. More Titles.
More ship parts that aren't 'exotic' like the STF Borg components, just more vanilla 25th century Starfleet/KDF designs for all tiers.
Also, hair. Namely: long hair for males that is neither receding nor covering the forehead, a 'slicked back' option for males, and female hair options for the 'ridged' head type that aren't dreadlocks.
That being the case I guess that I'm going to have to come up with something to replace number 5.
Keep in mind the process that ESRB uses is pretty subjective. Three people set down and look at a DVD containing video of the content in question (no they don't have to play the game) and then those three people decide where that content fits in the rating system.
The problem (in my mind) is that it all hinges on the three people in the room that day. Some folks won't blink twice at near nudity while others have conniption fits if a woman shows her elbows.
- EDIT -
After a little thought the cleavage _might_ have been nerfed because the reviewers thought that a woman partially unzipping her jacket makes her partially disrobed, and THAT is suggestive of her finishing the disrobing. Which is something clearly not within the bounds of a T rating. On the other hand walking around in a bikini that though small is as fully on as it can be is not suggesting anything.
I can hear the eyes rolling as I type this, but I write it because I have with my own ears actually heard people advance this very line of thinking. No, it makes no sense to me but there you have it.

For me:
1) T5 D7/K'tinga.
2) Token to switch the profession of BOF slots. What would an all Sci BOF Negh'Var do?
3) Different mouse pointers. I could se a D'k tahg or the emblems of the other races.
4) More ships for KDF.
5) All specail rewards that you are no longer able to win.
SOLD
I would buy it all without thinking much about it.
to add:
MACO rifle, I know it is old, but together with the pistol (first time used as a plasma pistol on ent) are things i love from ent.
A few dresses, I mean long dresses not the miniskirt we have now, I like some class.

That would be especially usefull for things like the Vulcan ships, Gorn ships, Nausican ships, Orion ships and upcoming Andorian ships.
But no, better we get a TOS bridge with interior for a t1 ship first, isnt it?
That is guaranteed to sell. That's why it comes first.
Z
Oh wait... ah TRIBBLE.
I would definitely buy that from the C-Store.
