Yes, that is what I decided to do in the end. I was going to kick around there a while longer, but I declined a duel from someone and then they chased me around cursing at me, so I just decided to go to Sanctuary instead. :| Anyhow, hope it goes better this time.

So I kind of need to increase the number of pets I can carry, I spoke with the lady, and she said I could either bring what I assumed to be a cash shop item or something else. What is this something else?

Yes, Pyrogram, Gush, and Stone Rain (Or whatever it is called) should all be definitely maxed. As for the shields, there is a bit of justification for each one, but I personally find stone shield the most useful as it makes up for what you will probably be lacking most if you are a pure build, which is physical defence.
