  • best. edited. thread. ever.
  • The 2,000 zen thing isn't too bad (most of the default purchase sizes are 2000 zen), but they better have this referral program go on for awhile, because people we refer aren't necessarily going to spend money right off the bat, but may do so down the line. I would wish it didn't require a zen charge, but then it would be…
  • The PvP and TW in this game is where it's at. PvP has nice balance, and territory wars over map locations are pretty fun, almost like a mmorpg version of reverse ctf. This plus PvP in the general game definitely made the PvP server more fun, especially with that hilarious world chat drama. Definitely get in a guild with…
  • thread needs more clipping hump, still win.
  • I tried this once, got inside but didn't have any mirage stones on me, they were in my bank, so I had to teleport out. It would be INCREDIBLY AWESOME if the NPC's explanation introduction started with the fact that you'd need the mirage stones before going in, who you can buy dice tickets from, just a lil more explanation…
  • I'm in! Here's my entry. Thanks Dixie for running all of these events, you're doing a great service to everyone on Lost City, which is still (and will always be) the best server. :D
  • The feuding and pk/kos stuff is hilarious, even in WC. Stay on the noob servers and leave the real fun to us, kthx.
  • lol, WC flame wars are hilarious. People spend $3-5 just complaining, it's the most amusing thing ever. I personally think it adds some personality to the server, and unless someone spams something offensive or advertising over and over (which i've never seen), is perfectly fine as it is.
  • I have a feeling that realistically, this is not something that they will change overnight. They just now finished up a month of operation in open beta with the cash shop open, around this week they're probably in-house, going over the financial results for september's launch and their labor costs vs their cash shop…
  • You can use this card for PWI, you just have to use the $20 card at least, the $10 ultimate game cards will not work. You change it into Zen on the ultimate game card website, and then use the perfectworld billing website to transfer the zen to your character.
  • I had also wondered about this at first, but it seems that I am getting a decent amount of quests, it's just that the CircleMUD-style progressive increase of exp to the next level makes each successive level harder to obtain, and requiring a little grind. The number of quests has dropped, but using the Find Quest button…
  • The only thing Best Performance does is set all your graphical setting except resolution to the lowest setting, and draws less players on screen to conserve framerate speed. If you turn off Best Performance and don't notice a change, hit the hammer+pick icon on the bottom right and then the center icon that looks like a PC…
  • I may just be an archer, but I have plenty of skills, enough now to fill out the bars and have some extra. What I tend to do is place skills I don't use often (buffs, meditate) and skills using chi (especially spark) on an extended click-only bar, and then the quick-cast and necessary stuff (pots, flying) on the shortcut…
  • 1280x800 on a plain Core Duo (2x1.6ghz) laptop, Intel 945g integrated graphics (yuck), with all settings minimized except maximum texture detail and near-max on the distance setting. Runs awesome, actually, best tweakable 3D game i've ever played on my laptop. I can even turn soften on and only lose a few FPS, and play…
  • $40, but I am withholding using any gold right now until I see if the charm situation gets any better. Gotta love those inventory extension stones though! I tested an exp scroll, and they work decent, but I can deal with the lower speed leveling...but at least they're cheap! They have got to lower charm prices back to or…
  • wow, now that I finally see the non-sale cash shop pricing on charms, the sale DEFINITELY needs to be permanent. Stuff in this game is already pretty expensive overall, but the charms have a lot of people hooked, and will continue to be a consistent cash cow at their lowered prices...hopefully the sales were so awesome…
  • I went to the park the other day and it was a series of short, rolling hills with a path winding through the middle and short grass, and my mind immediately related it to the several similar areas i've traveled through in game...my wife told me i was nuts :P
  • It's going to be real interesting when people try to follow Dixie through a series of teleports, so since that's not possible without just teleporting blind and guessing, I'm inclined to think that the event will be a success. She could always use a random mule account to drop the stuff, and we'd have no idea who to…
  • the International version of Perfect World has not been out very long for the public, so there won't be a lot of people that don't play that know about it yet, but most of the players on that I've seen are from US, some from EU, and 99% of them speak english (in my experience, YMMV).
  • You can run the dungeons without the quests, and a lot of people go back and help lower levels or peers with their dungeon run quests. Someone in another thread said there were 20+ dungeons, which would lead me to believe there's more than just the FB x9 dungeons, and if you look at the spots with caves on the map it seems…
  • It's actually pretty easy to find people to help with the FB dungeons, because higher level people almost always can get something out of it (good drops, etc). There is always (at least on Lost City) a chat channel for FB Help, and when I've been there to ask for help with an FB, I get a packed group in like 5 minutes. The…
  • This skill is definitely NOT useless! For starters, you only charge it up as long as you need...if you use it for an opener and someone gets close enough to start their attack, click it again and cut the charge short. It does more damage the longer you charge, but can still smash out a decent bit of damage if you just…
  • took this one outside of Orchid Temple: http://xs.to/xs.php?h=xs231&d=08393&f=errmodel816.jpg Missing models? Oh well, the big letters are funny, lol. Better than nothing!
  • took this one outside of Orchid Temple: http://xs.to/xs.php?h=xs231&d=08393&f=errmodel816.jpg I have a guess it's just
  • I second this motion. If I end up being level 70+ and the need for charms is so expensive that it goes over about $15/month, I'll just play something else. Same goes for xp scrolls, if I end up needing them just to get decent xp to level up at least once or twice a week, and they end up costing me with the charms over that…
  • my thoughts exactly...you can buy them if you want the game to be easier on grinding, or you can not, and just spend more time leveling...if it's true that they don't work on quest turn-ins anyway, then they're not really useful unless you're stuck to grinding instead of questing because of the number of available quests…
  • Make some Chaos Potions (i think that's what they're called, it looks like a bowl of orange cereal), they're level 1 craft items at the apothecary that regen 2000hp, so they're useful for awhile.
  • I have gotten some charms through cash shop, fifty cents really doesn't seem too bad at least early on, I've been using a bronze HP and MP charm and had the same charms on for three levels now. Seeing as you can buy gold from someone for about 100k/piece of in game gold, that's 50k per charm with in-game money, which you…
