do you max out settings?

i have 128mb of video memory recommended is 256 :(
its lags alot for me but i still play like that anyway :)
does anyone else do this ???? its such a huge difference i dont want to go to low settings b:laugh

kind of a stupid question but just curious

    Playing with everything at max and 1240x1024 resolution... screen can't go higher b:laugh

    Could up my AA and AF with nVidia control panel, but think it'll drop my FPS too muchb:cry

    I have dual SLI cards and a 24" widescreen monitor, so yeah, I have everything on max settings...

    with the exception of one thing: Flowers.

    I have flowers turned all the way off because it makes a huge difference in my income stream. With flowers off (as odd as it looks), I am able to find harvestable resources much easier. Logs are hard enough to find as is without all those pretty flowers obscuring my view.

    Everything maxed out here, 1280x1024 windowed ( because the full screen modes of PW work funny in a bad way ), Nv 8600GT 512, AA 4x, 2 Go RAM, AMD Sempron 754 variant

    You WILL lag when there's lots of people, it's a rendering engine or server-side issue, wether you have a sempron or a 2-core makes no difference. You sort of, lag the same but with more fluidity ^_^

    If you have a nV 8x00 GT or better you can up to AA 4x at the cost of a mere 5-10 fps
    Over 4xAA I don't see the point. The softness gain over 4x is barely noticeable for a dire cost in fps.

    If you got a nV GTS variant - you're screwed.



    And I second the point about vegetation : it clutters.

    Playing on max settings. No lag on my side, unless the server itself lags but alas no one can help that.

    Played 2 weeks on lowest settings because I only recently got my high end computer and DANG had I been missing out. I've falled in love with this game even more now that I have such a beautiful scenary to play in!

    Everything maxed, except I don't use "soften". Makes the thing look ugly.

    8800GTS/320, E6420, 4GB RAM (although only 3GB are seen, when I find the time I'll rearrange some memory stuff and remove 1GB from the box). No lag on my side.

    Currently just 1280x1024 fullscreen since the primary monitor still has this size. Won't let me do windowed at full size... unfortunately, the alt-tab feels bugged, and sometimes PW just dies with "not responding" or I get kicked from the server.

    Almost exactly like me!
    Same vid card and RAM...3.2Ghz Dual Core processor (I doubt that this game would utilize 4 cores of a quad core anyway).

    I also do not used the soften option. I use sharpen instead.

    My resolution is also different:

    1680 x 1050 is the resolution I use. (The resolution of my monitor)
    I read the forums when bored at work for the lulz.

    Tip to play near full-screen windowed :

    1) close or redux all windows
    2) launch the game
    3) when you're in the login screen, right-clic on the taskbar then choose "Horizontal Tiling/Mosaic/Whatever "

    Maxed settings at 1680x1050 widescreen, 4X AA, soften (<3), great frame rate all around. It only slows down noticeably in west Archosaur, but still very playable.

    Up to 1600x1200 all on max without problems tho i now stick on 1280x1024 windowed as Alt+Tab kiling client and sometime take my graphic driver wit it.

    Q6600,8GB ram and 4870x2 whitch is barely used as temperature keep low with no fan change.

    1280x800 on a plain Core Duo (2x1.6ghz) laptop, Intel 945g integrated graphics (yuck), with all settings minimized except maximum texture detail and near-max on the distance setting. Runs awesome, actually, best tweakable 3D game i've ever played on my laptop. I can even turn soften on and only lose a few FPS, and play with it on sometimes. Sharpen also has a low hit to fps for me.

    I'm pretty convinced you can run this game on damn near anything, more so than any other MMO I can think of, and it's nice looking. Total win.

    Soften is off, everything else is max, distance etc. have a 256mB, I have a HD screen playing in 16:9 mode. its very lovely.
