I LOVE the fact that they're so high. It makes me appreciate the fact that I can fly. The high plateaus not only take advantage of the fact that we can freely move along the Z-axis (as opposed to only the x and y), but also gives the world that much more grandeur.

I'm not sure if you're talking about zooming with your mouse scroll wheel, but the reverse zoom option exists. So does WASD. I use them. ;) They should be in the general options tab of your settings.

I think a lot of people are disappointed because of one thing: unmet expectations. In short: 1. There was a lot of hype about the Lost Empire expansion. 2. People started building expectations of great new additions. 3. It wasn't really clear to everyone that the majority of the content would be for 70+ players. 4. People…

I was actually going to type something to help you, but then I read the rest of your post. Honestly, Cayeon's guide on Full Attack Clerics is one of the best guides I've ever seen for a MMO. It provides details, in-depth explanations, and gives you options. Yet, you call it ****. Despite the fact that you want to become an…

I actually did think, "Thank god I love my elf cleric the most out of all my characters," earlier.

Again, I just have to laugh. The horns are just so.. mango-colored. b:chuckle

Kiting is when you continuously and strategically run away to avoid damage, while still trying to remain in combat. In PWI's case, you cast a spell, run backwards, cast again, run more to maintain a good distance, etc. It doesn't really apply to flying while attacking ground mobs.

Hehe, that's the sad thing! Half the time, the nice people I'd WANT to revive are the very same people who hate spamming, and so I never get to help them. Maybe PW should've given clerics a "dead people radar." So far, if I hear anyone on public chat asking for revives with the word "please" typed out nicely, I rush over.…

I'm not really sure what you're asking. >.< Yes, it means one and a half times the normal experience. In other words (or mathematical terms): (normal exp) x (1.5) So the additional "bonus" exp you'll be getting is 50% of the original experience. In other words, yes, you'll be getting +50% of the original exp amount.

I'm sorry -- I just can't help it. I don't mean this to be a criticism of game artwork in any way, but I just had to laugh. Does anyone else think the Chromatic Moose/Raindeer looks rather ridiculous?
-
Yep! You can toggle your character to display either your normal armor or your "clothing." :)

Why not try a cleric? I've made quite a few other alts and get them to around level 30, but I keep coming back to cleric. Part of the reason is because of flexibility. My cleric has the max damage of a full attack cleric (I currently 3 or 4 shot everything my level -- usually before they get to me). She also has max…

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe midnight is a level 10 mount. Servers just went down so I can't check.

Great guide! I have to admit, I'm an incorrigible packrat, and have been saving every single one of my DQ drops so far. But even with a fully upgraded bank and inven, I don't have anywhere near the space I'll need to save everything. After reading this, I said **** it, and NPC'ed every DQ item for about a total of 1 mil.…

I think in the end, it depends entirely on how you want to play this game. If you want a bit of added excitement, and like the rush of being on vigil looking at your map for green dots (and don't watch TV, argue on ventrilo, alt-tab and multi-task while in game, like I do), I would recommend Lost City. If you want to just…

One thing to note is that both Heaven's Tear and Sanctuary are PvE servers. PvE means Player versus Environment. It means that unless you choose otherwise, you can't be killed by other players. Only by the game "environment" and game controlled monsters. Lost City is a PvP server; PvP means Player versus Player. After…

Haha, I feel like we should set up a chat room for you. ;) Games typically divide their populations into "servers" to avoid overpopulation/overloading. Perfect World has 3 servers so far: Heaven's Tear, Sanctuary and Lost City. You can tell which server we're on by the server name next to our character name, which is next…

A skill bar is a bar usually at the bottom of your screen labeled by "F1, F2, F3, etc" or "1, 2, 3, 4, etc." It's used as short cuts for your skills. You drag your skills from your skill list (the window you get by pressing R) into your skill bar, and then press F1 to use the skill. In the case of Perfect World, you get…

This might be a silly question, but do you know how to zoom in and out? It's the scroll wheel in the middle of your mouse. I personally use the "inverse" zoom (i.e. when I move the scroll wheel towards me, my screen zooms in, versus the other way around). If you're used to this "inverse" zoom like me, go to your bottom…

The last four people that I revived were spamming normal chat, calling for revives. I revived them, and didn't get a "Thank you" from any of them. I have the highest revive for my level, and while I don't really need a "Thank you," those four people certainly make me much MUCH less inclined to help people yelling for…

I really do agree with this. I find that if my cleric spells have gone past 70% of the casting bar, then it's pretty much considered cast no matter how much I spam the ESC key. And no, it's not a matter of slow reflexes. ;) The last two games I played used the ESC key and skill canceling as a common and crucial tactic. If…

Cayeon has a Full Attack Cleric guide stickied in the "Clerics" forum.

Ahh, see, now if you had written this post originally, I would've have taken offense. However, here is a crucial point: if you don't bother to make yourself clear in your original post, I won't bother to "read between the lines." Your original statement was an umbrella complaint that covered all "clerics" who don't have…

Basically, you're telling other people how to live their (online) lives. I think I consider myself quite fortunate in that the sole purpose of my life is not to pave your roads with rose petals, and make yours easier. I'll have fun with my FAC cleric, thank you very much. And even if I do change my mind, and go into being…

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't you all arguing a moot point? Defected said that he lured the bosses to areas that were not "safe" areas. Sure, it's still annoying to step out of Angler's village and be smushed like a bug by a random boss, but again, it adds to the entertainment value of the game (even if I were the…

I think the problem here isn't just a matter of searching the forums, it's: 1. "Glitches" are not clearly defined. I think of myself as a reasonably intelligent person, and well, the Gouf "bug" didn't seem all that much of a bug to me. Pulling things through walls is a bug. Teleporting bosses (not pulling, teleporting)…

It's such a simple thing to clean out your inventory and pick up your stuff within the time allotted to you. After that, it's fair game. You can complain about how "rude" it is until the end of time, but it doesn't change the fact that the item is reserved for you for a certain period of time, and you failed to pick it up.…

Personally, I don't think there's a single bannable offense in what you've described in your opening post. In a game THIS focused on grind, a little excitement is a nice thing. To me, if the game designers made it so that bosses follow you for 2+ minutes over vast distances, well, I blame the game developers. Not the…

I agree completely with LazyLuna. I'm following Crayeon's FAC build, and simply put, I'm built for soloing. In places where people are stacked on top of each other trying to kill the same mobs (the mines, for example), I squad willingly. And even then, the reason that I squad is not to get the quests done faster, but to…

Let me just say in the beginning that I absolutely do not care about getting, or not getting 1.5 times experience. I can understand the arguments on both sides, but here's one thing to think about: I think people are more upset about the way that PWI's management seems to be using this event as an extremely obvious money…
