I would say barb. Sin or good fist bm does well too. But that extra hp helps a lot in some cases, and you're your own mount :P. If a squad is held up, it's looking for either a cleric or a barb, and that can get frustrating.

It gets expensive :) Blacksmithing, tailoring and crafting share the same mats; so you basically have to split them three ways. Well, just my opinion, but . . . To save money, I would say go for tailoring first. It's six pieces of armour per 10 levels. One weapon per 10 levels. It might save you a bit of coin (and frustration), to be able to make the armour instead of the weap.
