Well, I would say that shards are generally to make up for what you're lacking. Magic shouldn't even be an issue, you have plenty of magic defense as it is. I personally stack HP shards, and physical defense ornaments. Then again I'm also a vitality build. I can't say that I've ever seen a cleric stack magic defense shards…
