It won't work because starting from scratch is so difficult. Even if you drop a couple grand into the game, it will not get you anywhere close to end game, even if you manage to get yourself into a clique of people to help you power-level etc. PWI dug this hole for themselves.

Tbh I may have stayed on that game longer if my computer could handle WvWvW better (what do you guys call it now?). My computer ran everything else perfectly on great graphics but would lag in WvW no matter how low I put the settings, and that kind of killed the game for me.

The problem with purge nowadays is that there are more and more buffs that aren't purgeable. The passive buffs make only a small difference compared to the fact. Tbh the passive buffs benefited archers just as much, especially since we had no useful self buffs in the first place.
